Changing Text Box To Input And Ouput In A WebPage?
Jan 4, 2011
I created a web page having textbox and an update button. My need is to display data in the text box when page is loaded. After that when I click on the textbox it will become an input textbox and can enter data. when data entered completely, click on the update button, after that newly entered data must be displayed on the text box. i.e same text box will be used for input and output data.
I created my web page using html. I knew that, by using ajax i can implement the above functionality. but i didn't get any idea to write the code.
Is it possible to have a text box input searching for the entered text on another webpage in the same way Find In Page would do? I have a webpage that I want users to input an item, and that this will open the targeted webpage and bring you to (and highlight) the matched item(s) like find in page does. Is this possible or is the easiest way to just make users open the link to the target page and just complete the find in page search there?
I'm building a template editor and changing some of the variables.
Part 1.
Only at DEALERNAME. Must present coupon at time of write-up. Cannot be combined with any other offer. 1 coupon per customer per transaction. Expires: 00/00/00.s
I need to be able to fill out two fields to change DEALERNAME and 00/00/00. I found a way to do this but it required the output to be in a field. I need it the output to look no different than before.
Part 2.
I'm using this to change some text via radio button but I would like an option to select how many details are there is the first place. Say they only want 1 or 2 details and not 3.
Head <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function detail1a(){ document.getElementById("detail1").innerHTML = "Up to 5 Quarts"; }
How on earth do you use javacript to change the text color of an input element, and have it work with IE??? I've tried numerous solutions. All of them work on browsers such as Mozilla. But none of them work on IE.
This works in every browser I've tried besides IE:
I've tried other things as well. Nothing works in IE. Is there anyway to change the text color inside an input box dynamically, and have it work in IE?
but this isn't quite optimal, cause if the user mouses out, it changes back to fade, and the user can't quite see what he's entering. So I would like the div to have opacity=1 when one of the textfields in it is active and opacity=0 when it's not. Is there a way to do that?
I want to use the values of text boxes on my HTML webpage to create a webpage URL (like below):
<script type="text/javascript">
My text boxes are as follows:
Now this all works and the result webpage URL prints to id='ID1', but the big question is how do I use this resulting URL in another Javascript section as the src="?
Is this possible with JQuery? I have the following code which I think Should do this, but it's not working :/These are two different functions which I've been testing, and the html element is supposed to create a dropdown list via some PHP which will have the option "Other" within it. Unfortunately, I have no idea exactly how to turn "Other" into a text box when the user clicks, and I've been spending a lot of time on this already.
I am trying to dynamically clear the value of a form input field and then submit the form.When I used $('#my_field').val('') to clear the field, it was cleared on the screen but when the form was submitted the original value of the input field was posted.My browser is FireFox and I can see using FireBug that when the field is cleared, firebug is still showing the html code with the old value. E.G. <input type="text" value="old_value" />The same situation occurred if I used $('#my_field').attr('value', '') to clear the field.The same situation occurred if I actually changed the value of the field rather than just clearing it.To work around this problem I ended up using the $('#my_field').removeAttr('value') to clear the field before it was submitted.
I want to write a program that change the color of blocks and text on each block in a web page by it.You know in a web page we have many blocks and each blocks we have texts and may be shapes.So,I want to assign three(3) code to each block and text and also shape on each blocks so by selecting each of them,the color of each 3 items[ above items;the color of background of blocks,color of text on the blocks and the color of shape on the bolcks ] changed immediately and automatically.
I am trying to create a chrome extension that can pass text from a text box to a webpage text box. Basically my company has an intranet site where you can search for an employee. The url does not display the search terms so i cant just append to it. Since I cant really work on this outside of work (its an intranet site) i have tried replicating it from home using the let me google that for you (www.lmgtfy.com) site.
bit of code the user will input a year and the result will be the dates of Easter, and other Feast days.Right now I have the year hard coded for testing. The problem I have is that the dates come out like this;Ash Wednesday is on: Wed Mar 9 00:00:00 EST 2011Easter is on: Sun Apr 24 00:00:00 EDT 2011Ascension Thursday is on: Thu Jun 2 00:00:00 EDT 2011I would like to have the format as such;Ash Wednesday is on: Wednesday, March 9, 2011Easter Sunday is on: Sunday, April 24, 2011Ascension Thursday is on: Thursday June 2, 2011
Code: <script type = "text/javascript"> easterYear = 2011;
I'm currently in the process of making a spreadsheet like webpage and it all working fine... However I have been using setAttribute and removeAttribute in order to dynamically change a table cells onclick property.
This of course does not work in IE7 etc and I've been banging my head against a brick wall trying to come up with a solution that will work in all browsers but I just can't seem to get it to work with using methods such as...
I get all sorts of not implemented, type mismatch errors when I try to use the above.
which shows reports output formats in dropdown box & once i select option as "PDF" or any output and click finish button, then report o/p should open.I got sample script from forums. where this code gives me alll report output option in dropdown box, but when i select option from dropdownbox. automatically o/p opens.Since i am not java developer i am not aware of what to do, I am into more of reporting.. In this code i noticed they used on change function. is there way we can change to on select & finish button.. I know i should use input button to replace onchange function, but dont know where to put Here's code
<input type="hidden" name="run.outputFormat" value="HTMLFragment"> <script type="text/javascript" > function chgOutput(selFormat)
I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
I am a complete novice when it come to Javascript. I copied the script for displaying random images at a specific interval (from javascriptkit.com). I would appreciate knowing whether the following is possible:
The pages are based on tables, so the parts that change are all cells.
1. Can I define text instead of an image in the array? i.e. can I have the image change to say an apple in one cell and the next cell have text explaining what an apple is?
2. Would it be possible to put a countdown timer for when the image/text is going to change?
I would like to use a date picker on a web page input form. I found one which does what I want but the date format it outputs is not correct for my form. The script contains the following:
// datetime parsing and formatting routimes. modify them if you wish other datetime format function str2dt (str_datetime) { var re_date = /^(d+)-(d+)-(d+)s+(d+):(d+):(d+)$/; if (!re_date.exec(str_datetime)) return alert("Invalid Datetime format: "+ str_datetime); return (new Date (RegExp.$3, RegExp.$2-1, RegExp.$1, RegExp.$4, [Code] .....
I am not familiar with JavaScript and have not been able to figure out what changes I need to make in order to get the output I want. I tried to contact the author, but his email address no longer works. What modifications are necessary. The output format I'm looking for is YYYY-MM-DD (no time).
I have taken a class on PHP and started making some math homework and drills for the tutoring I do. I have asked my kids for feedback and they are telling me that it is inconvenient to hit tab to go to the next text box (They have small arms/fingers..)I then thought of a brilliant ideaLets say it was 12 divided by 3. If they wrote a 4 in the input area, the JavaScript would recognize the correct answer and automatically move to the next box. However, if they wrote a 3 in the box, the JavaScript wouldn't move over.This kills two birds with one stone. The inconvenience of hitting tab or clicking on the next box disappears, and they are forced to put in the correct answer.Ironically, I have learned PHP and skipped over JavaScript. Which code would I use to do this?
i am looking to create a simple travel website where the user inputs details into a form or selects options from a drop down menu. When they submit their details they are taken to another webpage were simple adverts on the side of the webpage will relate to the options they selected from the drop down menus. For example: I select New York, and some dates. The advert on the next page will say 'Going to New York, stay at this hotel'
It will say the same if another city is selected but with the city name changed and the hotel name changed. On the second page i will ask the user to fill in personal details in a form, and again after they click submit, they are taken to another webpage and the advert will change, maybe including their name and some other details.
Is this possible and how would i go about it? The adverts only need to include some simple text for now. If the text can srcoll or move that would be a bonus. I have looked through many books and searched the web and cant find anything. I just want to use the input and selections made from the user to adapt the next webpage.
I found this slide show [URL]. I got it to work on my website [URL] using Firefox, but when it is viewed in Internet Explorer it will not work. Second question, When the slide show gets to the last image, after the last image all photos disappear and it resets itself changing the format of the webpage. Any way to not have the images disappear while it loops itself or is there a code to have it stop on the last photo and not loop.
How would I access the source of a webpage? I would like to get the source, then use a regexp to find text on a webpage. For example, retrieving a counter, or some other text that dynamically changes. I'm implementing this for firefox.
right now, i have a web page opening that contains that info, but i would rather have a pop up alert() that shows that info.
