I have a file that generates web galleries in Adobe Lightroom. They are generated depending on which files are selected and the metadata in those files.
Basically it is a series of pages of thumbnails called index.html index_1.html index_2.html etc.
Then a set of pages for each individual image.
An example can be seen here: [url](the page navigation links are not great, but I have addressed that, they're at the bottom >> )
Currently if a user clicks on a photo there is a 'return to thumbnails button at the top, but this always takes them to /index.html
So the user could be at a picture after browsing to /index_39.html and still get returned to /index
Is there any way I can use history.go to find the last instance of index.html Or index_x.html (where x is any number) and take them back to that instead?
I have been working on this and cant figure it out.I have an index.html as my main file and I wanted to have a pop-up window that will also open together with the index file. the pop-up window is a notepad like type, file name is clipboard.html.Addon: i started adding code to have the pop-up to stay on the right side of the screen and always on top.

I have a web site which main page is index2.html I need a script that when I refresh the page it takes me to index3.html or index#.html in a random fashion. the list of index numbers is 10 so far.

I tried to load 1 html through ajax and javascript and it worked.But i want to load more than one and i cant.I thought that it would be a good idea to put the ajax files to the external websites and put the same load button.I tried this idea but it doesn work.I can only load one external website.

I have a some divs in a list which are shown or hidden using doslide. I would like to be able to make a link on another page or an email which will go to the page and reveal a specific div automatically without the user having to land on the page and then search through the list.

so I spent all my time making this website [URL]html work on IE. And now it turns out it is Firefox that is trying to ruin me. I am using a simple JQuery by Sam Dunn [URL] to slide boxes on the upper left of the landing page. But in Firefox (may be it is just FFX4) it won't run. I can't fathom what can be the problem.

Got an assignment for a javascript class and I have been banging my head against the wall for a week now.[code]In the main page I have tried several different ways to access the "src" property of the image, none of which I am 100% sure is correct. I think the problem is in the main page, in that I am not accessing the image right, but I could be wrong. change the visibility to switch between them. On the Mac version of IE
5.1 I am not able to activate the scroll bars after making a division
visible. Only the originally displayed division works. I am able to
click on the data (option select lists) in all of the divisions. There
is no problem when I use Netscape.
I would like to dynamically change the z-index to see if that would
help. Can someone tell me how?
I'm having a real hard time trying to get a simple rollover working correctly on my site using inline javascript.
I have an set of five images in a gallery that are covered by one larger image 'Rollover.jpg'. When you roll over the larger image it gets hidden so it reveals the five images below it code below:

i then added the line ",style.zIndex = -1;" so on mouseover the main image would drop below the five images and remain hidden, so that the five images become clickable; and then ",style.zIndex = 1;" on mouseoute, so the image appears back ontop covering the five images on mouseout.
However, I just get this crazy flickering on mouseover now, so I'm wondering if I have my inline code setup correctly?
I'm building a webpage using javascript and iframes. Basically I have an iframe in the middle of the index.html page that links to another html page (let's call it iframe.html). My question is, is it possible to call a javascript function from iframe.html to control an object on index.html? If so, how do I do this? I'd like to be able to assign an image in iframe.html with the hyperlink of href="javascript:function()", where the function effects the CSS of a div on index.html.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am desperate to solve an issue with z-index. If you look at one of my examples:[URL]... I am trying to make a website where I have button (menu) and when clicked they slide out a page form the right. The site never changes the whole page it just slides in new content on nav click. This page works well in some aspects. each button slides out a page like I want. One problem is that I want the content to slide out from under part of the background picture and to see all of the content I’d like to mouseover the content and it comes above the bit of picture. If you click on page (portfolio) it does this. Whats funny is this whole concept works in IE (believe it or not) but not in the other browsers. What seems to happen is the z-index’s wont let the mouseovers take affect. I’d like to change the z-index when button clicked so the active content is always on top. The second issue is I’d like to close the open content when opening another content page. I have no idea how to do that in this slider case.
btw (I didnt write the slide function and would not have used <button> but not sure how to make it work from any link, I have tried dozens of different ways to do all this but nothing has worked)
Does anybody know why IE5+ does *not* honour array objects (like a table)
across a session?
Example:
Frame A contains a var tableVar which is set via form Frame B (on init)
using top.A.tableVar = document.getElementById("someTable");
As long as Frame B is *not* 'refreshed/ reloaded' witk another page the
variable in Frame A is ok.
However, when the page is changed it just 'kills' the rows in tableVar.rows
(the lenght just turns to 0).
When tested with something simple like a String (instead of a table) the
above mechanism works as expected.
After two full days of mucking about this is strting to smell funny.
Does anybody have any idea/ suggestion as to the what and/ or why of this
behaviour.
I am in situation where I need a code to redirect a HTML page to new location (Static HTML/Dynamic Web page) however the challenge is that I can not use usual JavaScript Redirect code due to restriction that we can't execute any code/script under body tag.
I found that this can be done using an external JS file however I am not able to achieve this.
I need the code to be generic so we can apply the same JS file to any page. However, I want the new window to open over the previous one versus opening a second new window.
