I am trying to change the value of #name and #category inputs based on the value of select. A friend gave me the code below, but I can't get it to work.
<script type="text/javascript"> $('#Gift_Type').change(function(){ if ($(this).val() == 'Monthly'){ $('#name').val('Partnership')
It shows an input field when the select value is "dropped". The problem I am having is that if I select "dropped" it will display the input field, but if i select a different value AFTER selecting "dropped" the input field is sill displaying. How would I get it to hide the input field if it is NOT selected?
I have a form that has a bunch of text inputs, and I would like to select all that don't already have a class "errorClass" assigned to them. My JQuery currently is: $('input[type="text"]').addClass("idleField"); But that adds the class "idleField" to ALL text fields, overriding the ones that already had the class "errorClass" assigned to it. What is the proper syntax to add the "idleField" class to all text inputs that don't have the "errorClass" assigned?
what would be the best way to have a hidden array of possible text directed at a textarea and then if something is not within that array "onfocus", a certain select option is chosen within that form?
What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.
like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this
<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.
Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??
just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
Given the following input tag which is enclosed within a hidden div tag:<input id="X" class="Y"/> this call (id-based) locates the tag: $(this).find("#X")but this one doesn't (class-based)I couldn't find any documentation indicating find() working differently when using id-based vs class-based selectors.
My code: [URL]... When I click on UpraviƄ in class edit I need add some HTML code to begin and to end of class entry how to I can select class entry in the same class post on which I clicked?
I'm trying to use AJaX to populate the third input in the same row as the second input based upon a separate db query. Here's the code for that:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript"> function loadXMLDoc(v,n) { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
[code]...
Here's where it displays on the page<cfoutput>#trim(getITRRSP.[columnName])#</cfoutput> Whenever the focus blurs from those inputs, the third column in that row is populated with "UNKNOWN" as the value. I have confirmed that the getITRRSP.cfm file is properly retrieving and displaying the data from the db query.
I have a php function that list all of the countries from my database as a select option, then based on what the user selects for their country im using jquery to make an ajax call and get all of the states/regions for that country. This part works fine. I'm running into an issues, as when a user login's in to edit their profile, how would I make the select change based on what is in the databse.
I've been having problems getting my select option to change the options of another select option. I'm not much of a javacsript coder, so I'm at a lost. When I select the first option nothing appears in the second option.
I apologize for posting again - Joern, the developer who built this plugin made a suggestion but I never heard back on a follow up question. I am using validate on a fairly big project. The problem I'm running into is that our e-commerce environment is writing a fairly cumbersome value into each input's name field. It's basically pointing to the form handler. This itself makes it difficult to build rules because the name attribute can be 100 characters long. It's also possible that the path to the form handler will change which is troublesome.
The ideal solution is to have set the validation rules and messaging on the id of the input. Joern indicated that this would be possible, but I need some help going about it.
I am working on a class registration system that requires students to register for a main class (101, 102 or 103). The student is supposed to select one main course as well as provide a second choice in case the first is not available. I have two dropdown select fields to capture data
1) Choice -1: 101 / 102 / 103 ( Student needs to select one - Reading the classID from classes table) 2) Choice -2: 101 / 102 / 103 ( If student selects 101 in Choice-1 then the only classes available under Choice-2 should be 102 or 103).
How can I accomplish the above? Further to this there are two fields on the form where I would like to auto populate based on what they have selected in Choice-1 and Choice-2.
For Example: If a parent selects choice1: 101 the child Choice1 field should autopopulate with 100. If a parent selects Choice2: 201 the child Choice2 field should autopopulate with 200
I am trying to come up with a script that will validate a radio group based upon the status of a checkbox. If box is checked radio button is required else it can stay false.here is as far as I have gotten so far. just a basic if statement but i need to incorporate the check box
Code:
function validate_form ( ) { valid = true;[code]......
I'm redesigning a large website right now, and the problem i'm having is that there is already a CSS class called "required" that has been used extensively all over the site. However, I want to use the jQuery.validate.js for the forms. is there any way to override this?
How could I add a class to a div that contains a div that contains a link that contains specific text, and name that class based on that link but with hyphens in place of spaces and all lower case? Here's specifically what I'm looking for:
<div class="my-div-one"> h2>Title of this section</h2> <div class="my-div-something-else"><a href="url">My Special Link</a></div> </div>
In the above example, I want to add the class my-special-link to my-div-one. Is that possible? How could I do that?
I am in need of changing the class of a number of divs for a specific loop in one of my clients' pages. My javascript skills and knowledge, however, are direly lacking, and I see myself in the unfortunate position of trying to take on more than I can handle.
What I want is a function that runs on page load, ad eternum, changing the class of #foo into .bar and into .foobar alternatively, every X seconds.
I would like to wrap validation messages in <li class="error"/> with validate plugin is there any event or option I can handle to tweak the element before it is appended? I'm unsure if something like that would look ok:
$('form').validate({wrapper:"li.error"}); or either $('form').validate({wrapper:"<li class='error'/>"});
I'm running validation on a form that has two components, a payments segment and an address segment. Both of these need to be within the same form. By default, the address segment is hidden. Upon validation, I would like to display the payment segment, but only if there are validation errors within that segment. Using invalidHandler, I've been able to successfully fire a function when errors are returned, but I haven't found a way to check if there are errors within that container. My plan was to check for the invalid class within that container... something like this:
$(#formname).validate({ invalidHandler : function() { if ($('.client_validation').length) $('.billingAddress').addClass('showForm'); }}}); The problem is that the invalid class (.client_validation) isn't applied when the invalidHandler function is executed.
I know the refresh() method is gone since version 1.2 but for somereason even if it's suposed to work without it I can't get it to work. Here's the scenario:I got a select box, depending on the selection I want certain elementto validate so I dynamically add validation class to those elementlike this.$("input#element").toggleClass("{validate:{required:true}}");But when I click submit the element doesn't get validated at all but Ican see the class has been added in firebug.
I would like to use the fade effect when it goes from a img to the next img with the same class instead when the next img has a different class I want it to apply thescrollLeft effect.
What I have problem to understand is how can I on a certain condition change the effect of the cycle.
