Switch Case Detect For Multiple Values More Efficiently?

Pretend there are like 10 more cases with more numbers with them. Currently this will only text to see if x is 0 or 42. How do I get it to test for the other numbers?

This gives 'No matches' unless I only put a single string in the 'case'
lines. I've just been using VB's Select Case which is a similar flow
control but which allows conditional arguments in the 'cases'. I just
wondered...
I realise you could put each set of names in an array and iterate
through each array, but that's a different issue.
Set Element Visibility Using Switch/Case?
Nov 19, 2010So, I have a list of items that need to have a new preset list item appear based on what day it is. I have the date script working (to test, change the first case to some random date and change the third case to todays date - 10192010 - It will fire that document.write). What I need the cases to do though, is set the visibility of certain list items.
This is just an example, there will be around 20 list items in the final project. As you can see in the first two cases, I've tried a couple different routes to no avail.

Switch(n) Does Not Correctly Evaluate Case / Solve This?
Oct 18, 2009I am returning the present time - then using the .substr to remove all digits except the last two on the right (i.e effectively returning the value 32 from 65344532) I am then looping, subtracting 11 from that number until the value is less than 11. The intent being to then return the value from the appropriate matching array ID code...
The problem arises with evaluating two digit numbers beginning with zero - In cases where the last two numbers are greater than 09, the looping returns a 1 digit number for valuse less than 10, in cases where the last two digits begin with zero the loop will not begin. I have attempted to use the switch(n) to determine if any 01, 02, 03 ... etc exists but this is not evaluating correctly - is this due to using the date/time object and if so is there a good way to convert this to either a numeric or string datatype where the case can be evaluated correctly?

Is there anyway to write a function which will sense which link was clicked and then alert the id of that selected link. I have written the code but am not certain why isn't it working. here is my code.

Posting New Array Values Based On Switch Cases
Jul 17, 2009I was tasked with creating a CPA calculator in JavaScript. I am currently struggling with the part where I will convert the letter grades to Number (a=4 b=3 etc...). I have a switch case function that is working when I enter the spec. letter value, but it is not working when I try to use the array that I created. How I can get the total of the grade column to show up at the bottom after all the prompts have been run through and the letter grades have been converted to numbers.

The code below does exactly what I want, but I'm not quite satisfied with the way it's done.The definite webpage will contain a lot of projectboxes, and for each project I need to add two functions in my script. Dec 29, 2009I'm looking for a lightweight way to be able to switch between 2 divs on a page.
I have found various ways to do this online with jQuery, but none of which are able to handle multiple switches and make it extendable across the pages of my website efficiently.
For example I could have 12 - 15 individual elements on a page (All with same style) each with an option to switch content e.g. "Click here to do something" then once clicked "it would reveal something" (Within that element/<li> tag) - so it's element specific.
For example:

But of course as it's element specific you have to associate each id together but you can't have two id="2" - as that won't validate.....
Looking around, a perfect example can be seen at: [URL]
And because it's CMS driven and will have multiple categories/pages, you can't list all the id's with the javascript, so it has to be portable/OOP (Is that the word?) so just a main identifier in the JS...??
Where you click to reveal code and it switches div, but only for that element, it doesn't effect anything else.
JQuery :: Checking Multiple Input Values Against Various Other Hidden Minimum Values
Jul 19, 2011I have a list of products where they have minimum quantities in a hidden input. Some products have multiple colours, though the same minimum quantity and I'm trying to implement a jQuery check that entries made are at least equal to the minimum.
Blank or '0' entries are fine but if it's below the minimum quantity it should set to the minimum.

Is there something obviously wrong with this? It isn't performing the minimum check and I'm really not sure why.
Multiple Submit Buttons Need Multiple Hidden Values?
Mar 19, 2009I am setting up a text search with 3 search buttons to allow 3 different searches from the one text box. Each search has different values for the 2 hidden elements. So far I've got the 3 submit buttons working with the below code but I can't figure how to get the hidden values to be inserted. For each of the 3 different submits I need to tell javascript what the 2 hidden values are.

Multiple Selection Values
Jul 20, 2005I am trying to retrieve selected values from a multiple select object on a page:

What I want to do is to pass the selected values from "Selection page" to its parent window. Right now, I pass the values by doing this (in JavaScript):
window.opener.parentForm.num.value = document.theForm.numbers.value;
I'm assuming if mulitple selections are made (lets say One and Two are selected), document.theForm.numbers.value will be a collection of the selected option values. Is this correct?
If so, how can I retrieve each option value when coding parent window?
One Checkbox With Multiple Values?
Nov 2, 2010I am trying to do some JavaScript calculation with checkboxes, and have been able to modify some codes to do bits of what i want to do. (Screenshot attached) However, i want each checkbox to have multiple values, and therefore multiple results.
I can't find any examples, but i've come across something similar with Radio buttons [URL].. I don't 'get' the example enough to proceed. My question is, is it even possible to do with a checkbox, and if so how do i go about doing it please?

My question is if it's at all possible for each checkbox to have multiple values, so i can have different sets of totals? I have been looking for examples all over with no luck. I have seen examples for Radio buttons, which separates the different totals with commas, but i don't have enough JavaScript experience to understand it fully.

My question is that I want to make the table rows populate from a database so each of the javascript values will have to be unique for the value to be worked out on a specific row calculation.

Search An Replace Multiple Values At Once?

all "," by "."
"win" by <nothing>
all spaces by <nothing>
So far I do it this way:
strFlashVer = strFlashVer.replace(/,/g, '.');
strFlashVer = strFlashVer.replace('win', '');
strFlashVer = strFlashVer.replace(/ /g, '');
but I'm sure theres better way (I'm not really good with reg exp).

Check For Equivalence To Multiple Values?
Sep 9, 2011I have to check for several possible values of a variable and I currently do it like so:
(SHIP_TYPE == "M" || SHIP_TYPE == "S" || SHIP_TYPE == "X")
But this seems overly manual to me. I'm imagining something like the SQL "IN" function:
SHIP_TYPE IN ('M','S','X')
Does such a thing exist in JavaScript, or do I need to write my own function?
