I'm creating my WYSIWYG html web editor. but now I want to know witch
image is selected. I try the selection.createRange().htmlText but it
returns me null. I see that when i have an image selected, the selecion
type returns me "Control", but how can i access the properties of this
control?
I have an editable Iframe control that I am using to allow users to
input formated text into a database for later viewing. One feature I
am toying with is the ability to vertically align their text. The idea
is to have a button for TOP, MIDDLE, and BOTTOM in which each will move
the text to the desired location within the box. So far I have tried
two ways to accomplish this. One is with a DIV around the text and
when the button is clicked it moves the DIV based on how high the DIV
has become. The other way I have attempted this is with a TABLE which
covers the entire iframe. When the buttons are clicked the appropriate
location is set in the cells valign property.
With the DIV attempt the body of the iframe has contentEditable turned
off and the DIV turned on. This would restrict the user from typing
outside of the DIV. The problem is that when the user clicks on the
iframe but outside of the DIV the cursor is gone. The user could also
hit ctrl-a on the keyboard to select all and eventually delete the DIV.
With the TABLE attempt the body of the iframe has contentEditable
turned on sice the TABLE seemed to not have that property. With the
body being off the table couldnt be edited. The problem here is that
the user can now type outside of the table and also delete the table
much easer than the DIV.
When i press tab in my document which has editor it brings focus on editor iframe. Now if i again press tab then the focus goes to send button which is below the editor. But also cursor stays in editor.In such condition if i start typing, then as soon as press space my form is submitted as focus was on send button.

I set iframeObject.contentDocument.designMode='on' on body load event. But when i fire a double click event, iframe becomes visible but not in editable mode. I'm trying to get the cursor position to move to the end of the text within an editable iframe or div.I've been pointed to something called TextRange and have been reading up on it for days yet couldnt make sense of much (i'm still very new).what i'm trying to do is on a button click, the cursor will move to the end of the text in the iframe.

I'm trying to implement is a table with editable rows and columns that will feed back into a database. If I could do it with AJAX that would be great too, but I'm not too familiar with javascript. I don't need the code, I need more of an idea. The HTML Table is currently a recreation of the MySQL table minus a few columns. Its all in text, but if I could make the text editable, or better yet, make the text turn into input boxes it would be really cool. I'm not really sure what kind of methods and properties I would need, or quite how to put it all together. What do you think is the best way to go about the entire project?

However, instead of appearing on the page where the old image was, the new image appears in a blank page.
My research indicates that thisblank page location-problem is a result of using document.write in the Function. Therefore, I know I need to find a different way to accomplish this, but am failing miserably.

View 3 Replies View Related how I can get this lookup to work..:?I'm using a app that uploads an image and returns a hex code in a 3x3 grid. (See here: http://jrm.cc/color-palette-generator) I want to take this one stage further and have a code that will then take the Hex code and look up a field in an sql database containing hex codes. Then convert the hex code into an image containing the selected colour. For example;
User uploads image of the sky
App returns hex codes of sky
App then needs to look in a field database of images on server and finds image/s with similar hex value
App then returns images in replace of the hex code (i.e blue water, swimming pool, blue coloured hat etc etc)
How can i check (from the parent) if a checkbox in an iframe is checked. Would this work?

The menu is in "Header" part, i want to highlight the selected image in "Header" when it is clicked.
When the image is clicked the related page is displayed in the "Main".
Onmouse over the highlighted image is displayed and Onmouseout the non-highlighted image is displayed.
I've tried by removing the Onmouseout event but that keep showing the highlighted image of Onmouseover event.

I am creating a page with a dropdown menu that has 140 countries in the list. When someone clicks on say, Algeria, an image of Algeria comes up below the dropdown with a URL below that. What I need further help on is how to make the URLs a hyperlink (all different) as well as making the image clickable so that a larger version pops up when clicked on. The if statement is reached correctly, but I can't get the code within it to work. Each image is stored within an anchor and, as with the hover code (included), I'm trying to change the end of its source file name from '_off'to '_on' so it's active.

I'm using DreamWeaver CS3's image rollover code, but I'm trying to edit the code so that when you click the image, the hover state stays selected.
Then, when you hover anc click another image, the first image reverts back to it's original state. I've scoured the Internet, but can't find anything that works.

Is is possible to have a Radio button, when selected, insert an image into a table(or something)? Each Radio button changing the previous image. I am using the code below to insert an image into an iframe (idContent). This works fine, however, if i dont select the iframe before inserting the image the image is pasted into the window document by default... I was wondering if there's a way to check that the selected area is indeed the iframe and if not then don't paste the image code.

I'm trying to make a script that searches the code within an iframe, then drills down to find the first instance of an image within a specific span. But there's an error in IE, and nothing in firefox. I'm not even getting the error alert, so I'm stumped.

I posted this in a CSS forum, and was instructed that this may take some elaborate javascript to accomplish.
I have a website that a lot of people iframe, and I want to let them still be able to iframe my site (no framebreaker used), but I would like to show an image on the original page that is iframing my page. Is there a way I can make an image show on the page that is iframing my site, not over my iframe?
Example, a sites homepage (that I have no control over) has part of my page in a 300x300 iframe. Can I make an image that shows outside of the 300x300 area of the site that my page is framed in?
