Multilevel Drop Down Menu Iframe And Make It Editable?
Apr 12, 2010
I have several issues with my multilevel drop down menu The First issue is : the page has 2 iframes (one has the horizontal multilevel drop down menu on the top) the below iframe has my site address Now, when i hover over the menu it does not open or expand but when i open just the menu without any iframes it does This clearly means that the menu is not coming out of the iframe bring it on top of everything of the page Note: i have placed the menu in one iframe and a page opens below it in another iframe. The Second issue is : I want the navigation bar that is the multilevel drop down menu to be editable Which means i have a blog and a forum on my site but my visitor wants that the blog should not appear there and another link to play games should
be there and hence he/she can edit it And please also try to make it work on cookies so that the user info and preferences are saved in cookies and whenever he/she comes back they see the page their way. For you: I would like to tell you that IdeaLab has launched a Twitter Advertising, Widget and Search platform and the first 1000 people are getting $100 go to tweetup.com
I need to make a drop-down menu for my multi-level website. I need all the links on this dropdown to work on every page, no matter on what level (subfolders, sub-subfolders etc.) it's called out.
i have a base href tag on every page set to my index page the links in my drop down menu look like this location='supplies/painting.htm'
where 'supplies' is the folder contained in the main root folder, so it should be working but it's not. Whenever i click on this link while i'm in the 'about_us' folder, it tries to bring out the page 'about_us/supplies/painting.htm'
Only thing left to add is that this script is included "as is" with dreamweaver, and thats why i have no idea how it works. I'd code it myself, but the client wants it that way Code:
I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?
I am trying to work out a vertical multilevel sliding menu. I started using the UI accordion but I just discovered this code in an old post that works fine:
I have an HTML doc. with 3 layers (<span>). The first span contains a banner. The 2nd span contains the javascript code for navigational drop-down menus. The 3rd span contains an iframe for the content.
My problem is that I can't get the content to appear in the iframe from the links off the drop down menus.
Is there a way to make a spry horizontal menu panel drop down after being clicked, instead of rolled over? I have tried modifying lines 142-143, 364-366, and 470 of my js code, with no success. I attached my code in a Word file in order to highlight code changes I made to make them easier to find. I kept the original code, just commented them out.
My problem is I had a drop down menu for a horizonal menu bar but the drop down items are about 4 items long . It works fine for first menu item, but the second one is positioned beneath the first one because it can't fit it's menu on the same line as the previous one.
I have set the submenus to hidden meaning they are there which is why they are taking up the space the other item needs to use when it's menu item is rolled over.
Is there a way to set items so they are invisible but not taking up room when invisible?
Is there any way to make a combo box(drop down list) in the HTML screen editable?
Like when i select an item in the combo box, a text box should appear in the place of combo with the item selected and once i am over with the editing the combo should reappear with the new value. I should also be able to add to new items to the combo box.
I would like to use a control on a WebForm that acts like an editable DropDownList control. The user should be able to select a value from the list of choices, or type in a new value if no predefined choice is applicable.
It doesn't appear to me that a DropDownList control is editable.
How would you suggest I accomplish what I want to do?
I have an editable Iframe control that I am using to allow users to input formated text into a database for later viewing. One feature I am toying with is the ability to vertically align their text. The idea is to have a button for TOP, MIDDLE, and BOTTOM in which each will move the text to the desired location within the box. So far I have tried two ways to accomplish this. One is with a DIV around the text and when the button is clicked it moves the DIV based on how high the DIV has become. The other way I have attempted this is with a TABLE which covers the entire iframe. When the buttons are clicked the appropriate location is set in the cells valign property.
With the DIV attempt the body of the iframe has contentEditable turned off and the DIV turned on. This would restrict the user from typing outside of the DIV. The problem is that when the user clicks on the iframe but outside of the DIV the cursor is gone. The user could also hit ctrl-a on the keyboard to select all and eventually delete the DIV.
With the TABLE attempt the body of the iframe has contentEditable turned on sice the TABLE seemed to not have that property. With the body being off the table couldnt be edited. The problem here is that the user can now type outside of the table and also delete the table much easer than the DIV.
i have some mysql articles and i would like to change the title when it displayed on the page by clicking on the h3 tag i have got the articles displaying on a while loop so i need something that would work with that i was thing of somehow changing the h3 tag to a input tag

When i press tab in my document which has editor it brings focus on editor iframe. Now if i again press tab then the focus goes to send button which is below the editor. But also cursor stays in editor. In such condition if i start typing, then as soon as press space my form is submitted as focus was on send button.
I have a jsp page. It display a table contain 3 columns. 1st column display color name, 2nd for purpose of color like that.. Now i need the contents in td element to editable. This is the sample code. here status is a vector table.
I'm creating my WYSIWYG html web editor. but now I want to know witch image is selected. I try the selection.createRange().htmlText but it returns me null. I see that when i have an image selected, the selecion type returns me "Control", but how can i access the properties of this control?
I have an iframe which is by default hidden. It becomes visible on a double click event and should be in editable mode. I set iframeObject.contentDocument.designMode='on' on body load event. But when i fire a double click event, iframe becomes visible but not in editable mode. How to achieve this specially for firefox2.Any other alternative, let me know. In IE its working fine. Also i want to know how to set textarea value to an iframe
How would I make an normal form input field go from editable (where someone can write text into it) to solid text (not editable) simply by clicking anywhere on the page away from the field And then.. ..the reverse. Clicking on the non-editable text would suddenly create a form field (with that text in it) once again editable. Possible with JavaScript?
editor.document.execCommand("insertHTML", false, "<br />") doesnt work when the text cursor is at the end of a sentence... but is does work when the cursor is at the middle of a sentence.
<script type="text/javascript"> window.onload = edit; function edit() {
I'm trying to get the cursor position to move to the end of the text within an editable iframe or div.I've been pointed to something called TextRange and have been reading up on it for days yet couldnt make sense of much (i'm still very new).what i'm trying to do is on a button click, the cursor will move to the end of the text in the iframe.
I am a newbie in this field and never have done any scripting as i dont belong to this field.Just now trying to learn html and javascript. I have written a very simple HTML code having a table containing some columns like market, account number, user id,racf id etc. Below given is my code:
Code: <html> <head> <title>E 1.3</title> <h3> Information regarding various markets is given below</h3> </head> <body ALINK="#FF0000" LINK="#0000FF" VLINK="#FF33FF" bgcolor="#FFFFCC"> <table border="1" bgcolor="#CCFFCC" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="5"> <thead> [Code]...
This code i completely html but i am posting here in javascript forum because i need a javascript function which can be embedded in this html code so that the columns account number and and user id become editable. Means: this code is not complete as of now.In account number and user id column i can enter at the max three strings for every market. The whole page will be static only except the account number and user id field in the table. My question is how to make this particular column editable.Means i need to have two buttons.Clicking first button makes the field editable and i can edit the column and when i click the other button eg:save or something then the cuesor automatically goes away and the page becomes uneditable until i click the first button.
First off, sorry if this is the wrong section. Adobe Forms isnt exactly Web Development, but its the only place I could find to post about javascript. If this isnt the correct section, Now, onto the question (please note, I am inexperienced with javascript). I have an Adobe form with a default text like this I have javascript that looks like this, so that when tabbing into the field, it skips past the default text:
function SetEnd (text) { if (text.createTextRange) { var FieldRange = text.createTextRange(); FieldRange.moveStart('character', text.value.length); FieldRange.collapse(); FieldRange.select(); } } SetEnd(this);
I was wondering if there is a way to make it so the default text cant be changed at all. Even better would be an alternative way of having the default text there but not "part" of the field, but at the same time, not being able to type over it either.
I want to enable the user to pick merchandise from a drop-down menu that is linked to the Javascript database. I want the ability for the user to pick multiple items and multiple quantities if desired. Then I want it to be able to calculate the price and display the info for the customer. I do not know how to link the drop-down menu w/the databaseHere is what I got so far:
I'm trying to implement is a table with editable rows and columns that will feed back into a database. If I could do it with AJAX that would be great too, but I'm not too familiar with javascript. I don't need the code, I need more of an idea. The HTML Table is currently a recreation of the MySQL table minus a few columns. Its all in text, but if I could make the text editable, or better yet, make the text turn into input boxes it would be really cool. I'm not really sure what kind of methods and properties I would need, or quite how to put it all together. What do you think is the best way to go about the entire project?
