how to achieve the same affect with the code pmw helped me with several months ago this time around im trying to achieve the same affect instead of displaying one image im wanting to display text but stuff like this depending on what is selected once again it will display the following.the url for this is once again here.how much space,bandwidth,ram for gaurantee and burstable ram and ips etc.. now how can i do this using the following code below.

I have 3 select pulldown boxes where a user will select a year (either
2002 or 2001), a week (one thru 52), and a database (short data or long
data). But if a user selects a week that is less than 4, the 3rd select
pulldown will only show the choice of "short data", as they will not be
able to select "long data". Is it dynamically possible in javascript to
program a third pull down in this fashion?

I have been trying to code something in Javascript. It works in Firefox, Safari and Chrome, but it doesnt work in IE7. To give a brief summary, i have an option list drop down menu, and when a user selects one the javascript will update text and an image. The changable text id="itemname", and the image id="itemimage" The javascript code is this:

I am trying to develop a calendar which hilights the days date (which I have done) but now I am on to the really tricky bit (for me). I have a form that works out some basic math questions e.g. area etc. I run a function when a form field is updated to do the calculations, however I'd like to run a different calculation depending on which form element was updated. Is there a way to say something like:
if (area1 was updated) {
work out this calculation
}
if(area2 was updated) {
work out this calculation
}
and so on?

I have a been developing an Online auction website using PHP and Mysql for the last few weeks. I have implemented everything including the 'bidding', 'buy it now' options of the auction etc.
I don't know much about AJAX to be honest, but I think it is the technology I need for this... My requirement is to devise a way of updating (in real-time) the current price of a particular auction product as more and more users bid on the item. Once a user bids on the item, the bid table of the database is updated with the highest bidders price. So once this value changes in the database, would it be possible to update the price on the webpage? Obviously, it is important for this update to be as accurate as possible to maintain the integrity of the auction.

I'm trying to update a shopcart depending on radio button choice, the problem is when I'm submitting and want to go to the next page.
Imagine this, I'm on a page with 2 radio buttons, either u can pick A or B, depending on my choice the shopcart gets updated, and its placed in the bottom of the page, to that point everything works fine.But when I post from my form and get redirected to the next page it seems like my jquery function runs again and choose the first radio button even if i have the second selected when posting.$cart is the class object and i add the items with just a name and some price parameters.

i'm after some script to display some html depending on what is selected in a list box
the html i want to display are checkboxes so it's more stuff for a form i'm using lotus notes, so i have to use javascript.
i can get it to display a checkbox if a particular item is selected but it won't show up in place, it loads a new page with the check box the only thing on that new page.

I have an online application used for grading students. On one of the
pages, I have a table with two rows and each row has 16 cells. The
upper row contains the letter grade (A, A-, B+, B, etc) and the lower
row has a 16 radio buttons for selecting the appropriate grade. This
all writes to a SQL server back-end and has been working fine for
several semesters. Some faculty members have complained that it is
hard to read and see which have been graded so far and which still
need to be graded. It has been suggested that we change the
background color of the selected letter grade to a different color. I
have had some sucess with this, but haven't figured out how to
"toggle" the color on and off based on the state of the radio button.
I can get it to change color when selected, but the color persists if
another radio button is selected. Does anyone have some sample code
for this?

I am trying to create this form to update a field when a certain item is selected from a dropdown menu. I would like to have it to where when heat pump is selected from heating type, the AFUE field that originally has a value of 80 needs to be updated to 7.7. I would also like for the wording to be changed... Instead of having it say Current AFUE or HSPF, have it to where when a Single Speed Furnace or Variable Speed Furnace then it says AFUE below it, when Heat Pump is selected then it says HSPF, and if Electric Heat is selected do not have anything or even delete the whole field.

This is my first venture in this forum and also my first attempt at some programming for a fair few years and I have run into a problem i cannot for the life of me see the answer to. I am fairly sure I am just missing something stupidly obvious, but like I said its been a few years since I did any programming so I'm a bit behind with my knowledge!
What I am trying to do is using a combination of HTML & Javascript (well actually JQuery), is to automatically update a cell in a table without the user doing anything. The changes to the content are based on changes to a database by other users. I want to make a script that composes an image depending on several variables. The image is composed of a base piece of clothing (e.g. t-shirt) on which an image and text can be placed. The color of the piece of clothing; the location of the image, the image itself and the text are variable. Also the font of the text can change. Is there a base script I can use? Or is there a small script that handles a piece of the desired functionality?
Probably this is a thing better done in flash. But I don't know flash and really don't want to either. Code:

I have the following code that I use to loop though records in my database and display the text. For each record I look through the text for a certain piece of text and then split the content it is found. So for example if the database contained a field with the data "this is some text [splithere] this is some more text" then the first part (this is some text) would be displayed and then a more button would be shown. If the user clicked the more button then the rest of the content (this is some more text) would also be shown.
At the moment the more button is always shown, even if the [splithere] text was not found. What I'd like to do is only show the more button where necessary. I'd also like to change the text from 'more' to 'hide' when the button has been clicked and the additional content is being shown as when they click the link again the text is in fact hidden and so saying 'more' doesn't make any sense.

I was wondering if there is a way to use Jquery to reduce the amount of images I use on my company website as well as resize them depending on the page they're displayed on. It's just that I feel that's it's very tedious creating 5 or 6 formats for each campaign each with it's own dimensions depending on the page and unfortunately my company doesn't want to implement a Backoffice fed site, which means I have to do it all manually.

Not 100% sure why or how to make this work.I have 5 options in a select drop-down. Only two of them are to disable a text field. I have written it successfully to disable on one option. How would I add the second option? I have button with no width specified. The text value of the button differs, so i left it with no width.
It automatically sets the width but the problem is it to wide with about 5 spaces on each side of text letting the button look stupid.
I thought of working out the Text in a javascript function then set the length of the button.
