Multiple Flash Objects On Page, Delay Load By X-seconds?
Nov 19, 2010
the situation: I'm building a web page, and the client wants to have three flash galleries on staggered timing (i.e., the first one loads and runs, 4 seconds later the second loads and runs, 4 seconds later, third one loads and runs).
I've been trying to figure out how to use Javascript to handle the initial delay between each object, and the best I can figure is to use an onLoad to start the first flash (Flash1), and then call out a function with setTimeout to start Flash2 4 seconds after Flash1 loads, and the same thing for Flash3. However, my attempts thus far have failed, and all three load up at the same time.
function delayLoad() { setTimeout('window.open('test.swf','FacNews', 'width=303,height=757,left=1005,top=0')',3000); }
test.swf is a flash file within the same folder. I am invoking this function using
<body onload="delayLoad()">
What am I doing wrong for this not to delay the load by three seconds? I am having a system login that spawns a child window so I need to delay the window load of the swf so that it is on top. Its been years since I've done javascript, is there some other kind of methodology that I could possibly use?
I have the code below which pops up a pop up on page load.
I simply want to wait for 10 seconds after the page load for the pop up to appear. Is there a jquery way that I could add to the below code to make this work?
delaying the form submission for 3 seconds. When the submit button is clicked I have a animated loader image that becomes visable and I want the visitor to see it for a few seconds before the form submits.I have the following so far, however the issue I am having is that the action when the form submits no longer is processed. But if I take the timeout out the action is processed
I have a page "v.php" which got an iframe that shows different pages for 3 seconds after they have loaded. There is a page "w.php" that needs to be shown in the iframe but it needs to be shown for 10 seconds after it's loaded. How can I make so "w.php" freezes the timer for at least 10 seconds and then let it start?
I have a button on my site, which when clicked calls an ajax function. What I want to do though, is append a loading graphic for just 2 seconds inside the button such that it looks as if the website is 'busy' saving when the button is clicked. This is obviously just for user feedback as the 'save' is done instantly - it's just for user feedback to make the user confident that the save button has worked. To do this, I'm trying to append a loading image to the save button, delay for 2 seconds, then remove the image, but it doesn't seem to work.
I have this HTML:
<p><a href="#" title="" class="save">Save</a></p> And this jQuery: $ (
if I am loading content into a div using the get feature of jquery, and that content has some clickable objects in it will jquery recognize those as well? What I am doing is building a site that tracks bugs on our software. The site pulls the bugs from a mysql db and displays in a table format. There's an edit link which passes the record id number of that bug (via ajax) to a php file, where a form is filled in with the bug data and passed back, a hidden div is then shown with the form in it. Part of the code I pass back has a submit button and a close button (css styled anchors) and I'm using the same process on them as I am on the edit link but not getting any results. My script looks like this:
<script src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script language="javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ //hide edit form
[Code].....
how it works. Does it sneak peek the page after it loads and get all the objects into some sort of array? I'm thinking it is doing that and because I am adding other object through AJAX it is not seeing those, since the page is not being reloaded.
I am using a nice little jquery image slider. Mostly working well - but when any of the pages load -all of the images in the viewer briefly flash down the page on page load. this won't work. Here is a link to the issue:[URL]... Is this an image preloading issue? I have a preloader script in there - but not sure if it is working as it should.
I have a list of names of flash files. On clicking anyone of them, flash file(.swf) whose path is know should play on the same webpage, on the right side of the list I know the code to play swf file. But here the file name has to be passed and what i need is to pass the file name at runtime depending on the link clicked.
I've almost finished employing the jQuery Accordian and Tabs UI functions on a website, but still have one remaining problem.I have a page using the UI tabs. When the page first loads the content of all the tabs flashes for a second or two and then the selected tab is displayed. After that the tabs work great with smooth transitions as expected.
The tabs on page load are filled with php include calls. Then I use ajax to refill the tabs base upon the users selections. That works fine without the load flashing of all tab contents. I did try switching all the php includes to jQuery ajax. The resulting page had the same problem with the content of all tabs flashing before the selected tab displayed.Here's some of my code:In the head:
Is my code the problem or is there something I'm leaving out that would hide the copy of the tabs loading until the document is ready and selects the first tab (index 0)?
I'm just the jquery.media plugin. With multiple players being used for each mp3 link. Is there a way I can setup a jquery call that knows to pause (or stop) all other players once a user click on a new player?
I have a very strange issue which happens only on the Mac/Firefox 2 (and 3 I believe) : [URL] The top left logo (ball) is a simple flash 'spin' animation, that is activated using javascript via the navigation (onmouseover effect). This works fine on Windows - Firefox, IE and Mac - Safari. However on Mac/Firefox, the logo ball on page load simply DOES NOT APPEAR. However, when you simply SCROLL down or if you move your mouse over the navigation (which calls the flash), then the logo appears. Basically, it's really odd because the logo ball is there, but Mac/Firefox does not show it until you do something to the page, like scroll.
I have embed a flash player known as: JW player into my website and put it into a div. Now my problem is I want javascript to hide the div containing the flash player for atleast a few seconds to display a loading image.gif. How would I set this up?
I'm trying to put some code together to create an image-swapping system, that when you click on the image it'll hide the image and replace it with a given iframe vimeo/youtube code...
The swapping part works fine, however when the iframe loads up, it hides all other flash objects in the page, and I can't figure out why.
Here's the JS function swapvideo(w,h,url) { document.getElementById('video_pholder').style.display='none'; document.getElementById('video_code').innerHTML="<iframe src='"+url+"'
Doing my own fitness bootcamp site and want to fancy up my front page. My front page loads a picture and I want it to load like flash. What could I do? I have all the Adobe Software, just don't know how to use it.

i implement jquery tab in my new website but i have problem while page loading, when i first time open page it display random data without css for 2-3 second and then everything is ok, if anyone know the problem let me know[URL]...
I am building a website, where I need a page to after a delay of five seconds upon load, automatically load a random url, from an array of a couple of different urls. Any idea how to do this ? I found something that does this, but without the 5 second delay..
<script type="text/javascript"> var urls = new Array(); urls[0] = "http://www.AAA.com"; urls[1] = "http://www.BBB.com"; urls[2] = "http://www.CCC.com";
I am trying to modify a function in jquery which should load a promotional popup after 5/10 seconds of page load. I have got a function from somewhere which is keep refreshing something after few seconds but not only once. I came across one() function of jquery and tried to modify my function but it is still keep refreshing it and not showing it only one time. I am posting my code and will be glad if anyone can guide me to solve this as I have almost wasted whole day behind it.
What I need to do is display the data on the web and refresh the data every 5 seconds. I am not aloud to use things like jquery as this site will be used via analogue modem sometimes. So my question is how do I do it?
Also I can not assign the xsl inside the xml and the same source will be viewed elsewhere
I am building a site with ads that I want to rotate positions (this way I can keep it fair for advertisers- the bottom ad rotates up to the top) upon refreshing the page, searching through the site, or each time the user visits. I have three images (sponsor1.jpg, sponsor2.jpg,sponsor3.jpg) that are always displayed vertically in the right banner. I assume this is just a simple javascript slideshow tweaked a bit but can't figure it out.
I find plenty of js scripts that will rotate several images through one image location, but I want image POSITION 1 to start with sponsor1.jpg, image POSITION 2 to start with sponsor2.jpg..and so on... then upon refreshing the page image POSITION 1 is holding sponsor2.jpg, image POSITION 2 is holding sponsor3.jpg... etc
I need a code to load imagexxx.png into a div every 5 seconds because the image changes dynamically and i need this using Ajax? the dynamic image generated by a php file > all what i need is run the ajax call every 5 minutes which run php script that return with an image ...
I used DrDOS's solution from [URL]and modyfied it a bit so I have 2 images, first without and 2nd with a link to other page. It works just fine in FF but in Chrome and in IE it shows just 2nd image. On place where first image shall be it's just blank white space. I have javascript enabled in all browsers, btw.Here's a code in head:
<script type="text/javascript"> function loadImg() {
