Multiple Image Locations Rotate Upon Page Load/refresh?
Sep 12, 2010
I am building a site with ads that I want to rotate positions (this way I can keep it fair for advertisers- the bottom ad rotates up to the top) upon refreshing the page, searching through the site, or each time the user visits. I have three images (sponsor1.jpg, sponsor2.jpg,sponsor3.jpg) that are always displayed vertically in the right banner. I assume this is just a simple javascript slideshow tweaked a bit but can't figure it out.
I find plenty of js scripts that will rotate several images through one image location, but I want image POSITION 1 to start with sponsor1.jpg, image POSITION 2 to start with sponsor2.jpg..and so on... then upon refreshing the page image POSITION 1 is holding sponsor2.jpg, image POSITION 2 is holding sponsor3.jpg... etc

Im a complete newbie to javascript and I've basically copied and pasted the javascript I found here to use on my site. Its an onMouseOver slideshow: [URL] to use on my site. Basically, my problem is how do I add a second, separate image in a different location on the web page, associated with this script? If I post <a href="javascript:warp()"><img src="myimage" name="targetimage" border=0></a> in two different locations, which is the script for the image, the script stops working, but having it once makes it work. So how do I add two different image locations? Can someone please help me here? I just want to add more images in a different location. ie have image location 1, and image location 2.

Also I also need text to change on refresh to because I am going to have a descritption of the image below. Does anyone know of a scipt that will rotate random div layers on page
refresh? I have a primary content area front and center on my site
homepage, and I'd like to rotate various chunks of html (in div
layers) each time a user reloads the page. Right now I'm resorting to
a random image rotation (those scripts are a dime a dozen) on refresh,
but it's far from ideal for what I'm trying to accomplish.

I wanted help for a JavaScript code. You might think I'm lazy for not writing it myself, but the truth is I am not a JavaScript coder. I just have a really simple website and I am trying to do something for which I know JS is required but I don't know how to do it. I've also searched around but couldn't find the appropriate code.
What I want to do is to make an html page load a different background image every time it refreshes.I will have a list of background images and I want to be able to add in this list, without having to change anything else in the codes after I do this (I think this is made by making an array of images and by putting .length somewhere in the codes, but I don't know exactly how I should do this).I already know how to do an external file (.js) and link to it from my .html page.Now I want the code to put in the .js file, and the code to put in the <body> of my .html file.

I have questions related to three operations using jQuery:refresh a div element on page lo append an element on top of the other elements in div change an image (pending/accepted) from the div's elements I know that there are tutorials for that, but i am so short in time.I just finished my PHP courses, and i am too tired to get into the jQuery magic right now.ere is the situation that i am confronting. I have to files: propune.php (which is basically the page that has the form and the div that should be refreshed/appended) and propuneri.php (the file that is handling ajax calls).

I need to open multiple windows via javacript. The for-loop is willing to do that for me:
function open_multiple(){
for(i=1; i<=10; i++){
window.open(ƈ.htm', 'myWindow'+i)
}
There's no problem in using the var i in the naming of the windows.
What I'm struggling with is the var i in the positioning:
function open_multiple(){
for(i=1; i<=10; i++){
var x=30*i;
var y=30*i;
window.open(ƈ.htm', 'myWindow'+i, 'top='y', left='x);
}
}
As you can see, I've put the vars outside the string as part of the solution I allready found out. Obviously, as I'm still posting this; it doesn't work yet. :o I must be overlooking something.
if (anyone can point out my mistake here){
document.write("thanks a million")
}

I'd like to load locations into the map area dynamically, based on the button URL being selected from the left-hand menu of the Locations page.So when the visitor selects Drebkau within the Germany tab, for instance, the map is changed to that new location.Also, on the current website, we have URLs that link to the various locations. Can those coordinates be used for the new map dynamic map coordinates?

Ihave 2 simular image changing arrays on a page that are targeted to different images that are layered on top of each other (zBodBox.gif & zPWBox.gif). The images are being replaced with other transparent gifs so that the image below shows the transparent pixels of the overlaying image.The transparent gifs work, the links work, the problem is that I don't know how to make the arrays seperate and work independently so that they replace the image intended. This is for a website I am building for a prouuct I have just received a patent for so it is not on the net at this time. I could email you the entire file including the images if necessary. My email address is:stevenbraid@gmail.comIf someone could please help me work out this bug I could get my product to market. I am sorry the code is so long but as it is not up and running yet this is the best I can do. I have streamlined the code as best as I can without leaving out the essentuals.
Code:

I have a small iframe (mid-right) with an embedded audio player.
<embed src="slideshow/streetsound.mp3"
width="75" height="25"
autostart="true"
loop="true">
Nothing fancy, however with that in there, the page seems to load twice in
IE. It fetches the SSI header, then clears it, then loads the rest of the
page 'behind the scenes', then finally displays it.
If I remove the embed, it loads the page bit by bit and you can start
reading before the rest of the page is done, which is what is desired for
obvious reasons.
Any idea why embed causes this? Works fine in FF etc.

my dilemma at the moment is that I have produced a site where the client would like the logo colour/image to change on refresh which I have achieved by scouring the net for codes and altering them. Now, the client wants the shapes behind the sub-headings to match the current logo colour/image on refresh as well. This would mean if the logo changed to the blue logo, I'd need all the sub-headings to be blue, and vice versa for another 3 colours.I'm struggling to understand how I can achieve this. At the moment, I have a javascript inside the code of the index page allowing logo image change on refresh but need the sub-headings to change in sync too.

I have inherited an image scroller that works perfectly. That said, the PM said the client now wishes that upon refresh or a new landing on that page - the initial image would randomize. I thought it would be cake to fix this. Not so. I have tried Math.random at every conceivable place in the function. I get bumpkis. Here is where I think the problem is . . . if anyone would like to take a crack at this.
Code:
// 4. paging function
function gotoPage(page) {
var dir = page < currentPage ? -1 : 1,
n = Math.abs(currentPage - page),

I have a page that contains thumbnails for a photo gallery. On this page is a link to upload more images. When you click the link a modal opens that contains an upload form (jquery colorbox in an iframe) which will allow you to upload one image (plus its name, caption, etc) at a time using PHP. When the form is submitted the image uploads and the page refreshes in the modal to allow for more uploads.
Since this modal is sitting on top of the existing gallery thumbnails I'd really like for the user to see the new thumbnail added to the page after it's uploaded.

I've been searching for a way to rotate an image a div say 90 degrees when a link is clicked, but can not seem to get it to at all. Here is some code I'm trying at the moment amongst many others, using thejQuery Rotateplugin.
$('#canvas a').click(function() {
$('#circle').rotateLeft([angle=90]);
return false;
});
Edit: I can get it to kind of work with css3, although it doesn't animate, and it only rotates once. I would like to keep rotating each time a link is clicked.
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#canvas a').click(function(){
$('#circle img').css({"-webkit-transform" : "rotate(+45deg)"})
});
});

I am building a site to replicate an existing site for a non-profit.[URL] want to have a rotating image on their home page, and I have it working using the following jQuery Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
// create the image rotator
setInterval("rotateImages()", 4000);
[code]....
The problem is that I can't figure out how to clear the previous slide's decription (in the <p> tag of each Div). At present the descriptions do rotate, but they are all visible since they are within the stacked Div's. How can I get the descriptions to show and hide in sync with the images?

I'd like to have something similar to the rotating images and text on my website. The website that I would like to mimick is: [URL]
You can see that the images move but there is still text over the image that I can click on. How would I go about doing something similar to this on my website. I'm guessing it's a combination of Javascript and CSS but I figured I'd start here.

the situation: I'm building a web page, and the client wants to have three flash galleries on staggered timing (i.e., the first one loads and runs, 4 seconds later the second loads and runs, 4 seconds later, third one loads and runs).
I've been trying to figure out how to use Javascript to handle the initial delay between each object, and the best I can figure is to use an onLoad to start the first flash (Flash1), and then call out a function with setTimeout to start Flash2 4 seconds after Flash1 loads, and the same thing for Flash3. However, my attempts thus far have failed, and all three load up at the same time.

How to get background images to rotate with a fade in a header without using an image in div in the body. A combination of javascript and CSS -- not sure if this is the correct forum or not? I can achieve an image changing/rotating in a div using the code just below. But I have to refresh the page for the image to change.
Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "[URL]">
<html lang="en"><head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>Rotate Images</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
var backgroundSrcs = new Array("list-of-images");
function pickimage() { .....
And I can get the image to rotate, change on its own, with the javascript below but have to do it using through an img div, a place-holder.
Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "[URL]">
<html lang="en"><head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>Rotate Images through img tag</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
var rotatingImages = new Array("../list-of-images"); .....
So what I really would like to do is have the image rotate through the div and not have to have the img tag present. I haven't even tackled the fade but have some thoughts about this. Since it's the header div I want to do the fading not the img tag, I'm thinking the way to make the fade work will be the same.

I found a simple image rotating script online and it works like a charm. I have several business logo images on my site and the script randomly selects and displays the images. However, since it selects the images at random you don't get an even mix of logos. Sometimes one or another logos will show up more frequently than others. To avoid this I added a simple DO-WHILE loop with an array. Now it will go through my whole list of logos once in random order, which is just what I want to happen. The trouble is, once it goes through the list of logos once, it freezes up.
I want it to reset after it goes through the whole list. Then it can keep running indefinitely. I tried adding a simple increment counter (counter++; ) and an IF-THEN line in the getNextImage() function so when the counter reached the number of images it would restart via the restart function, but now the images won't show up at all. I tried adding the counter++ at different locations but the result is the same: it doesn't work, so I took it out. Here is the site it will go on, complete with two rotating images (I doubled up on the rotate code) which rotate completely randomly. The one in the center doesn't change: [URL].
Here's a working, stripped down version of the code which shows the images at random: [URL]. And here's the same code with the DO-WHILE loop and the myArray added, which rotates once then locks up:
Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>test</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="file:///D|/Downloads/dw_rotate/css/ex.css" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript">
var interval = 2;
var random_display = 1;
interval *= 1000;
function restartImage() {
var counter = 0;
rotateImage('rImage');
} .....
Any way on adding something to count the number of times the images are displayed, and resetting the count once the total number of images has been reached.
