View 3 Repliesave this form which gets created by pulling stock/products from a database using PHP and beside every product in the row is a little box for input and in there the user can input the quantity of the product they want. Sometimes only 2 products will be outputted and other times 10 or more.What I want to happen is when the user enters in lets say 3 for the quantity of a certain product I want to get a total for how much 3 of that product will cost so I just do 3 multiply by the cost (which I have from the database) and then display the total cost down under where the list of the available products are and I want all this to happen dynamically obviously not using PHP because I don't want the page to have to reload every time they enter in a new quantity.
I know how to display text and stuff in certain divs with certain ID's using Javascript but I just don't know how to keep track of a form and do what I want to do when the number of inputs in the form can range from 1 to 10 or more. Im thinking of some sort of counter which gives every input a different ID like add 1 at the end of the ID name of the input as the PHP script loops through the database query displaying the products but I still don't know how to go about the Javascript side of things
I'd like some direction on creating a small piece of Javascript that will populate my <select> boxes.Basically, I have a form for users to create events, with a start time and an end time. (These are the two select boxes).For example:
Code:
<select id="startTime">
<option value="12:00AM">12:00AM</option>
<option value="12:15AM">12:15AM</option>
etc.....
</select>
What I am trying to do is:
1) Have times populated in 15 minute incrementals from 12:00AM to 11:45PM
2) Have some type of "error checking" available to where the End Time must be after the start time. It would be nice for the script to automatically change the end time field to a time that is after the start time.
I'm trying to search for the correct code to make my form work. I have 3 select boxes - one with 2 options, one with 8 options, and the last with 2 options... All of this adds up to 32 different url paths. Can anyone tell me how to get this done?This is what I have so far: (and yea, I know I suck... I honestly have absolutely NO clue)

I'm trying to have a user input a number in a prompt box which gets totaled and displayed in an alert box.This is what I have and its not working out for me.

I thought up this script when I was working on a website that acted as a cell phone. I did take a little coding outta brothercakes frogger script. If you dont want me to have this up here, just let me know. But here it is:
function alert(msg)
{
alObj=document.createElement("div");
document.body.appendChild(alObj);
alData='<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" style="width:25%;height:10%;position:absolute;left:355;top:180;z-index:1;"><tr><td align="center" valign="middle">'
alData+='<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="12" border="0" style="-moz-box-sizing:border-box;font:15px comic sans ms,arial;color:#1d4fa8;font-weight:bold;background-color:#f4f887;border:1px solid #1d4fa8;width:250px;filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Shadow(color=#1d4fa8,direction=135,stre ngth=5);">'
alData+='<tr>'
alData+='<td align="center">'+msg+'</td>'
alData+='</tr>'
alData+='<tr>'
alData+='<td align="center"><input type="button" onClick="clal()" value="Ok" style="border:1px inset #1d4fa8;background:#f4f887;color:#1d4fa8;font-weight:bold;height:20;">'
alData+='</tr>'
alData+='</table>'
alData+='</td></tr></table>'
alObj.innerHTML = alData;
}
function clal()
{
document.body.removeChild(alObj);
alObj=null;
}
You can edit it however you want to.
To get it working, all you have to do is create a link or something like this:
<a href="javascript:alert('Hello! How are you?')">Greetings</a>
and the alert will come up as any other kind!
I was just wondering if you can use html tags in javascript alert boxes?(like <b>hello</b>) when i try it it doesn't work only in document.write it works, i feel its weird. Could it be my browser im on safari,

Pressing the enter key of the following page (created by JSP) submit page more than once.
Both alert popup boxes appear as expected:
However, then this alert appear again, which is unexpected:

I was trying to create JavaScript error handling for a form, and I was trying to get an error message to show up underneath the field where there was an error. (I am trying to avoid alert boxes.) I only have two fields, and my problem is that only one field is showing an error message. If I place an error in the input for the second field, the error shows up under the first field. How can I get the error messages to show up under the correct form field?
Code:

.qty {
width: 25px;
text-align: right;

I have a script which allows me to select random users from one select field to another and works like a charm, but...I want to be able to get random users from one select field to multiple (lets say 2) other select fields...So lets say that I have 5 users in the first field (select1):
James
Bill
Jennifer
Bob
Karen
Now when I press a button: <input value="" type="button" onClick="randomusers();" />
2 users should be moved to select2 and other 2 users moved to select3.My current script is as follows:
function randomusers(){
var given = 2, used = {}, randnum, opts = $('#select1 option'), olen = opts.length, hiddiv = $('#hiddendiv');
function ran() { // generate a unique random number[code].....
I have developed an application in PHP.The user will find the list of experts and this code is generated based on the experts data in database.. It is working fine..
The users selects the expert according to his wish ( checks using check box provided before the expert and there is no restriction in selecting experts) .
Now he enters the question, he needs the reply and then he clicks on submit button.An email must be sent to the expert I need the javascript to find whether the USER CHECKED the Check boxes or NOT.
I'm populating a couple of dropdown boxes from an xml file, but can't get them working independently. As you can seehtmwhen you select an item from the first select box (a polyline), itdisplays the corresponding item from the other box (a polygon), too.I found this answer on the google maps forum:"Don't know of an example, but building two select boxes isn'tdifficult: pass into your createMarker() function the relevant flag,and add the data to one of two variables (instead of everything beingadded to select_html as now).You shouldn't need two handleSelected() functions -- both select listscan use the same function because each select box passes itself("this") into the function."which is what I thought I did (making sel_html and select_html) butmaybe the two variables being discussed here are different ones?cross-posted on the google maps forum here and here but not answered.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've a page where I'm calling record from Database. Each record has an
ID and a text box displayed on the page. When the user fills in the
values of a text box, depending on the values of the text box i've to
do some further work. For eg. I've to add two records if the textbox
value of 2 records is same.
I'll try to create an example here
<-----this is from the DB-------> <-----this is form field--->
ID Task Hrs text box
1 adsfsd 1 a <---- user fills this
2 asdf 1.5 b <---- user fills this
3 eyst 2 a <---- user fills this
4 dghjfghj 2 c <---- user fills this
5 xdfb 1 b <---- user fills this
6 tyety 1.5 c <---- user fills this
________
| Submit |
--------------
So the user has to add hrs of those boxes for which have same values
entered by user. such as adding hrs of record 1 and 3 since both have
"a" entered by the user, adding record 2 and 5, as both have "b"
entered by the user and so on and so forth.
I need to check that a user's birthday has been filled out completely, using drop down menus. I can validate each of the menus individually (see code below), but what i really want to do is make one check that all three are selected so that I don't have 3 extra error labels.

I'm not entirely familiar with jQuery coding, but I've given it my best shot to get this script working properly, and I can't seem to manage it. Here is my scenario: I'm creating a website for a friend who sells custom jewelery cuts. There are 4 different parameters you have to choose about your cut, and we would like to change the image displayed to match the parameters you select so you have a picture of what your going to purchase. The idea is like this:
I have managed to get it to update the image for a single select box, but then If I select another one it completely overrides the first one, and displays the second box. Here is what I have so far (and no it doesn't work :P):

This ensures that when only one select box is chosen, the form validates, however, it also validates if no boxes are selected. What's the most efficient way of doing this?
I need to be able to move items that come from a database (no problem with that) between three multiple select boxes. I also need to be able to move the items up and down within individual boxes....

I'm trying to populate select boxes depending on choices in other select boxes. In my case, the person has to choose a type of fixture type, then a select box with all the models would populate, and then a third select box with the watts have to populate.
In my code, the second select box is populating, but the third one is not. I'm sure that the problem is not in the php, but has to be in the jquery side. I'm a newbie in jquery and javascript.

I am trying to simulate a simple checkout page where a user inputs the quantity of merchandise that they want in multiple text boxes. When they click "calculate" it calculates the subtotal, tax, and total. As it stands my calculate function works if I do quantity * price for each text box and then add together. I would have to do this 9 times! :eek: I would like to use an array but I am not exactly sure how to use it to do calculations. I know I need a loop (which I have written) and an array (which is written also).
