View 3 RepliesI am using following JavaScript code to add click event on anchor tags with attribute rel="gcode"
Now I need a script to highlight all anchor tags which have an click event attached with them.
Is it possible using JavaScript to get a list of events attached with an object? Also I will need to check the code used in every event. (It is something like an Quality Assurance or Debugging code.)
Code JavaScript:
function gLinks() {
if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return;
var anchors = document.getElementsByTagName("a");
for (var i=0; i<anchors.length; i++) {

I'm trying to create an multiple upload script and the upload part is working fine, but...When a file is uploading a animated gif is shown in the list part <li></li>. If I only upload 1 at the time everything looks just fine and the animated gif is changed to the just uploaded image. Great!. But if I upload 2 or mare at the same time the problem is there. For each upload I start a list object is created. This part works fine, but when picture 1 is done uploading it is shown in the last created list object and the same is picture 2 overwriting picture 2. This is not good... How can I change this?
Code JavaScript:
var mynewLI = null;
new aUpload(uploadBtn, {[code].....
I want to programmatically list all properties of JS object from C++ code (I am using Mozilla's JSAPI). I know I can go up the prototype chain with JS_GetPrototype, then enumerate each object's own properties with JS_Enumerate.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a single web page that is broken into content sections that are all assigned element id's (home, about, services, and contact) and have a fixed navigation bar that points to anchors associated with each element id / page section. Since the navigation bar is fixed, it comes along with us as we scroll through the page. I've got a jQuery smooth scrolling effect that makes a nice transition between sections of the page when you click on one of the navigation links. Between the sections I have an image that looks cool as the page scrolls past between sections.
Problem:Since the page is kind of long, I would like to use the jQuery .hide method to remove page sections that lie between the current section of the page that is being viewed and the section targeted by the navigation link. At the same time, the .show method will be used to ensure the target section of the page is visible. Therefore, I need to include an exception to the list of elements that I am hiding - the element that I am currently viewing (and is consequently being displayed as the current url in the browser due to the anchor tags).ExampleFor instance, say you're viewing the "about" section of the page and you click the navigation link to the "contact" section. The "contact" link in the navigation bar is assigned the id="nav_contact." When you click the "contact" button, I've made the following jQuery happen:
$("#nav_contact").click(function ( event ) {
event.preventDefault();
$('#contact').show()

How can I make an input box (or other objects) disabled or greyed out and
still have them submit in the form?
I have a page with 2 forms on, namely form1 and form2!!
In form1 there is a listbox with a drop down of IDs. Now if the user selects a different ID in that list, form2 hidden variable (qualstatus) needs to be updated with the new ID which was selected in form1. I have tried the following.
function changequal() {
document.form2.qualstatus.value = document.form1.qualstatus.value
}
with a
<select name="qualstatus" id="qualstatus" onChange="changequal()">
however this does not seem to update the value of
<input name="qualstatus" type="hidden" id="qualstatus" value="<%=(rsAction.Fields.Item("qualStatusID").Value)%>">
I am having a problem with a simple javascript validation routine for a drop-down list, which works fine when there is only one form on the web page, but breaks when another form is added. I am new to javascript, so I expect this is a simple error in syntax.
When there was only one form on the page: Code:
What I need to do is create a dynamic select list using several sets of arrays.Example: fav color, fav car and fav genre.The trick is I need to use three radio buttons to control what is seen in the list.So if a user click radio button 1, the list changes values to one of the arrays.And if they click radio 2, the list changes to the values to another array.This is a learning process. I will really appreciate if anyone can help me on this.I can build the arrays, what I do not know how to do is make the list dynamic so that it fetches data from the arrays when a radio button is clicked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have got a basic Unordered list of Options and I want to be able to click on one of the options and have that option added as a value to a Form Value Input on my submit form.Users will have a choice of around 200 options and I need them to just add one of them with a click to the submit form.I do not want to use a 'select' box to list the options,it has to be a visiable unordered list.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically I have a unordered list with LI's and form/inputs within the LI's. Looks kinda like this...
<ul><li>
My LI
<form><input name='input_1'>
<input name='input_2'></form>
</li><li>
My second LI
<form><input name='input_1'>
<input name='input_2'></form>
</li></ul>
What I want to be able to do it loop though each of the li's, grab the values from the form inputs and serialize themas JSON.
Im trying to create an array using a form so that each time its stubmitted the value is stored in a session then the user can choose to save it or not, all without refreshing the page.Eg enter name and age, click add, it displays the name and age underneath the form, then enter a 2nd name and age click add, this is added to the array and displayed below the 1st entry.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created this form. I would like to use javascript to mail the form to the selected email from the selection list when the submit button is pressed.
<form name="Contact Us" id="contact" action="mailto:" method="post">
<fieldset id="selection">
Who would you like to email:
<select>
<option value="email1" >email1</option>
<option value="email2" >email2</option>
<option value="email3">email3</option>
</select>
<fieldset id="Name" >
Name
<input type="text" id="firstname" name="firstname">
E-mail
<input type="text" id="email" name="email">
</fieldset>
<fieldset id="question">
Comments and Questions
<input type="text" id="comment" name="comment" style="width: 500; height: 300">

I found a script on this forum that does almost what I want from this thread: [URL]. Instead of a dropdown, I'd like to have a list of names using check boxes, so that you have the option to send an email to one or all of the people. When you choose your selections and click submit, an outlook email will pop up with your selections in the to: field.
Here's the solution using a drop down, this works (and works well), but doesn't quite do what I need :
<form name="Contact_Us" id="contact" method="post" enctype="text/plain" onsubmit = "getEml()">
<fieldset id="selection">
Who would you would like to email:
<select name = "sel">
<option value="email1@email.com" >email 1</option>
<option value="email2@email.com" >email 2</option>
<option value="email3@email.com" >email 3</option>
</select>
<input type = "submit" value = "Submit the form">
</form>
<script type = "text/javascript">
function getEml() {
var emailaddress = document.Contact_Us.sel.value;
window.location = "mailto:" + emailaddress;
}
</script>
Is there a way to use checkboxes but to do the same thing?
<INPUT TYPE=CHECKBOX NAME="name1@email.com">name 1<BR>
<INPUT TYPE=CHECKBOX NAME="name2@email.com">name 2<BR>
<INPUT TYPE=CHECKBOX NAME="name3@email.com">name 3<BR>
What I'm currently doing is returning a list of images in a directory via a form list. I'm an asp guy so vbscript is the way I'm doing this:
<select name="image" size="10" onChange="generateimage(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value)" align=left>
<%
Dim FSO
Dim Files
Dim File
Dim Count
Set FSO = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set Files = FSO.GetFolder(Server.MapPath("./moms_images/")).Files
Set FSO = Nothing
Count = 0
For Each File In Files
Select Case LCase(Right(File.Name, 3))
Case "jpg", "gif", "bmp", "png"
Response.Write "<option value='" & File.Name & "'>" & File.Name & "</option>"
End Select
Next
Set File = Nothing
Set Files = Nothing
%>
</select>
What I *hope* to be able to do is allow a file upload (also vbscript) from a pop-up window and, when the upload is complete, refresh the list (above) without reloading the page (AJAX fever, methinks)
The only thing that would make it even cooler would be to auto-select / display the newest upload otf (I use dhtml to display the images on-select ala dynamicdrives example).
I realize this is a fairly tall order, but would be greatful for any pointers or weblinks for this js-challenged soul to use to get started.
I've got a list/menu item in a search form ...
<select name="ccode" id=ccode >
<option value=0>World</option>
<OPTION VALUE="1" >Afghanistan</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="2" >Albania</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="3" >Algeria</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="4" >American Samoa</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="5" >Andorra</OPTION>
etc, etc.
</select>
Since this list include every country in the world (a long list) I'd like to offer users the a few text links along the side that select popular countries within the list without having to scroll through the huge list ... click here to select United States, click here to select Japan, etc.
I have a form made up, and there is an option where the user selects "Male/Female". The way its set up is as follows:
var lastLink;
function setLink(theLink){
if(lastLink) lastLink.className="genderSelect";
theLink.className="selected";
[Code]....
What happens is that when the user selects a gender, the javascript changes the class of the list item to 'selected' which has its own properties.
What I need to do is send the information that is attached to the selected class through my form and into my database.
How would I create and pass that variable to my forms post file?
Anyone have an online list of properties that can be changed?
In particular, I'm looking to change the properties of a textbox in a form. E.g. Border colour & background colour.
This bit of code allows me to change the text that is initially in the text box (before a user starts to type).
Code:
document.myForm.tboxMsg.value="New Value";
<form name="myForm">
<input type="text" name="tboxMsg" value="Old Value">
</form>
The question is - what else can I change & is there a big list somewhere?
My use of the word "properties" and maybe others may be incorrect...Apologies in advance, I really don't know much about javascript.
Have a WAMP setup with Apache, PHP and Mysql service and Im working on a HTML form which will have two drop-down controls where information is extracted from two tables in my DB.The first drop-down list called (name="sel_ControlArea") will decide what information the second drop-down list will have.So far I have managed to populate them when the page is loaded using PHP but run into problem when I make a change on the first drop-down list.Question one: What is the best/correct way to solve this problem?Is it to load all information into PHP arrays and then translate these to Javascript arrays, or should I go for AJAX, or XML or are there any other better ways ?I have tried to solve this using the first method, put data in a PHP array but run into problem with this data not properly loaded.This is first time for me to pose a question so please let me know if I have left out some important information or if I should describe this problem in a different way.

In my list box if i select one item corresponding to that 4 fields has
to be appear below the list box and if i select another item only 1
field has to be appear below the list box and if i select another item
no fields has to be selected.
I have been looking around for a while on google and have come accross a few things but still am unable to find the exact codes. I am trying to have a page setup so that when the user clicks a button it will add preset text to a form box and keep the chronological order of buttons that are clicked. This is going to be used for my ambulance service to assist dispatch so basically i am looking for preset buttons that the dispatcher can click disp. and have the dispatch and time added to a list in the form box that can later be copied and emailed to our cell phones.

I have a form with a drop down list box, few textboxes with labels and submit button. depending upon my selection I should be able to show hide textbox; assume items, 1,3,5 in the selection box shows the items other than the listbox and 2,4,6 items in the selction box if selected hides the labels and textboxes. but in all the case submit button should be present.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need to be able to change the fields of a form based on a drop-down list. Like if someone picks option A field 1 shows and if they change it to option B field 1 and 2 show up without reloading the page.
If you need me to explain more I will try to do a better job. If I could be pointed in the general direction that would be great, I dont exactly need to be spoon-fed, although I do like spoons if you catch my drift .
With something like this : <form name="a"><input name="name"></form>
Is it possible to get the name of the form (a) and access the input object
(name) too?
