Is there a jquery plugin that can scroll text in a div vertically?I have div with a set height that is filled with more content than can be seen.I'm looking for a way to vertically scroll the text or some way to page thru the content.

I have a div column that has my projects that scroll vertically on each page. I want to have a functionality where I can have the user hover over the image on the left and a column beside that will appear some text that describes the project. That text would change when they hover over a different project. I don't know where to find this kind of thing.

I'm using the following piece of code to create a link that, when clicked, uses jquery animation to slowly display a paragraph of text. The trouble is that the animation goes both vertically and horizontally, making it look a little too busy/cluttery. How can I tweak my code to make it only animate vertically?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been desperately searching for a horizontal scroll plugin for my clients site but there always seems to be something that prevents the plugin from working with the layout of the site. Here's what I'm looking for:
-smooth horizontal scroll with no horizontal scroll bar
-scrolls div container which has nested divs (no width/height restrictions and only one container viewable at any given time)
-external navigation, fixed navigation preferred
-navigation should be text i.e. home / about / contact etc.
-links still work if JS is turned off

I am using jquery-ui for dialogbox and my dialogbox has scroll bar. There is a image in dialog box to which i am cropping image using the above plugin. But When I scroll the dialogbox and the image location changes then the imgareaselect box selection does not gets scrolled along with image. I found this issue even in [url] if I change the style of id="lightbox-container-image" to "height: 200px; overflow: scroll;" then I find the same issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the jquery-ui resizable plugin, but I encountered some issues :
1) I had to add the ".ui-resizable" css for that plugin to work (hopefully I found a website explaining that workaround)
2) there is no "scroll" option like in draggable (!?)
3) the containment option does not work vertically on the official example [url] you are constrained horizontally, but not vertically. In my application, the containment option is buggy too : it seems to take into account the container outer margins, or something else, I don't know what, but my windows are constrained far too soon (no it's not maxWidth/maxHeight)
4) the alsoResize option is buggy : when the containment option is used, the "alsoResized" element is not constrained as well :-( Am I missing something ? Does someone have info on what's going on with this plugin ? (1.7.1, it's not an alpha version). if there is another resizable plugin available out there ? (like the one used in [url])
I have some code below that I use in a contact form. Initially each text box has a default value, and when focus is placed on the text area, the entry disappears. What I would like to do is scroll the entries to the left, but I don’t know how to do that. I tried sliddToggle, but that doesn’t work.

Is jquery the right language to do this in? If it is, can someone point me to a relevant tutorial or example to get me started? Iwantthe text of my site to flow around a fixed background image while scrolling. Doesn't sound too hard but I can't find anything that will do that. I'm starting to think it may need tobe a flash solution. I'ts easy to float the text and some sandbag divs to make the text wrap around the image, but there is no CSS solution to make that text flow around those sandbags while scrolling. I wrote a small bit of jQuery to accomplish this, but the problem with this code is that is causes the block to continuously resize vertically. Does anyone know of a correction I could make to the code below to remove this glitch. Here is what I have written.

I'm trying to write a function to center a div within a parent div, and I'm having a little trouble. Horizontally, it works fine. Vertically, not so much.
This is my function:

The line with the Math.abs call is necessary because without it, the given div ends up halfway off the page up at the top. At least this way it appears somewhere within the browser. The divs in question are all set to position: absolute, but I've tried setting them to all the other possibilities without luck. Or maybe I missed something. This happens in any browser... IE, FF, Chrome, Safari, etc.
Does anyone know of a JavaScript that will do a marquee type text scrolling like the one on this page...
