JQuery :: Plugin To Vertically Slide Whole Page / Container Content Down?

Im looking for something that would allow a user to click on a button / link that would then reveal hidden content by sliding the whole of the main site content / container down.
I found this which slides the page content to the left or right [URL]
But need something vertical, almost as if the whole site was a big vertical accordian.
Or like on twitter / facebook phone app when refreshing for new tweets etc.

I have a banner that has image navigation on the lower right. The navigation links are images which, when clicked, change the banner without reloading the page. The actual switching of the banner is working when each image is clicked.
However, my problem is this:
The page itself is long and must be vertically-scrolled to see the entire content. Because of the scrolling, the banner could appear anywhere vertically on the page. And whenever I click the banner navigation hrefs, the page "jumps" so that the banner is at the top. The page should really stay in the fixed position.
I'm not sure how to set it up so that no matter where the banner section is on the scrolled page, that the page stays in the same position when the navigation is clicked.

Do I need something in my script so that the page won't jump? Or am I missing something in the HTML?

I have a quick question for all you skilled developers -- I'm new to the forum, intermediate with JS/jQ.
How simple would it be to implement a subtle and quick slide-in of the page content using jQuery (only that once for the home page onload).
For a reference check out this site example. I wanted to do something nice like this WITHOUT FLASH =)

I've set up a portfolio using the Cycle Plugin. It works great, but now I want to link directly to one of the slides from the home page, and I'm not sure how to make this work or where to even begin. Someone kindly produced some code for me so I could get my slides links to link to my other slide page. The thing is I am using the "pagerAnchorBuilder" option on my original slide and I cannot seem to get the new code I was given working with my code on my website. I am a noob when its comes to Javascript. I used two different coda like sliders for two of my sites, one of them expands vertically based on the content, the other does not. I'm trying to get some thumbnail images that are displayed with ClueTip to be centered vertically & horizontally. The images are various sizes, though none is larger than 150px on a side, so I set ClueTip to have a width & height of 200px. The images are wrapped in a div so that I can have them display: none by default, yet assign display: block to the images themselves.

The images are always aligned left & top. Eventually, I figured out that it was div#cluetip-inner that was the culprit. While the outer div has a height and width, the inner div has display:inline-block and so was shrinking down to the img size, essentially. I then added:

I'm using the following piece of code to create a link that, when clicked, uses jquery animation to slowly display a paragraph of text. The trouble is that the animation goes both vertically and horizontally, making it look a little too busy/cluttery. How can I tweak my code to make it only animate vertically?

Picture a table where each cell row is 50px tall, with 3 to 5 columns of varying length. For example: thumbnail, name, description, price, options. The thumbnail will always be the same size, but for efficiency of space, nothing else is.
My question is one of overflow. With long descriptions, overflow:hidden will keep things clean. But the most aesthetic presentation would be todynamically truncate the description with ellipses (...) somewhere just before the text runs off the end of the cell (like the ubiquitous [More...] feature, but first filling the cell as much as possible).
This is a typographically desirable feature, and I can come pretty close with php

I've been using the jQuery Cycle Plugin now for a variety of clients and feel pretty comfortable with implementing it and how it works. I rarely have any difficulties and it always seems to shave time off my projects. Its really is an awesome plugin that I am extremely grateful for. That being said I'm having a little difficulty with a more involved implementation on a personal project. [URL]. The plugin is working correctly - but not ideally.
Each image and title you see is a callout for a blog post. The posts are automatically added by calling the WordPress theme's "loop" - a PHP function loading the information and images from the last several posts written - then it displays each post's featured images, titles, and other info inside divs labeled "post". Afterward, the jQuery cycle plugin uses all the "post" div's to create a great user-interactive recent blog-post slider - using (my favorite) vertScroll effects.
What I'm looking for is a way to display 2-3 posts at a time instead of just 1. I've seen people have 2-3 images displaying per scroll by adding two-three images into a div - and then having that div (with more divs) cycle. What prevents me from doing something like that here is the fact that the list of blog-posts is dynamically populated by PHP. There isn't a way (I know of) to insert a </div> after 2-3 posts and then open a new <div> for the next 2-3 so that the cycle plugin knows where to stop the scroll content.

I've seen websites that had large flash ads that covered content on pages that, after they had run, resized or disappeared.
We would like to use the technology behind that (presumably JavaScript) to show and hide an intro flash on a home page. We would like to have a "close" link on the flash also.
I have searched Google and here but haven't found any good resources and many of the sites I have seen using the technology are no longer using them. I just need a little assistance on the JavaScript part of the puzzle.
We want the flash to start over the copy on the page and then roll out softly when it's done playing, revealing the content below. Code:
