JQuery :: Ui Resizable Plugin - No "scroll" Option Like In Draggable
May 23, 2009
I am using the jquery-ui resizable plugin, but I encountered some issues :
1) I had to add the ".ui-resizable" css for that plugin to work (hopefully I found a website explaining that workaround)
2) there is no "scroll" option like in draggable (!?)
3) the containment option does not work vertically on the official example [url] you are constrained horizontally, but not vertically. In my application, the containment option is buggy too : it seems to take into account the container outer margins, or something else, I don't know what, but my windows are constrained far too soon (no it's not maxWidth/maxHeight)
4) the alsoResize option is buggy : when the containment option is used, the "alsoResized" element is not constrained as well :-( Am I missing something ? Does someone have info on what's going on with this plugin ? (1.7.1, it's not an alpha version). if there is another resizable plugin available out there ? (like the one used in [url])
Is there some type of plugin available that can dynamically track and output x,y coordinates of a box I set using .draggable(). I'd like the coordinates to show inside the box as it is being dragged.[URL]...I wrote I simple scripts and I'd like to be able to drag any box I add and show the x,y coordinates inside of each one.

Is it possible to have a draggable div that will only be draggable between certain coordinates? in other words create a window through which the draggable div is visible and draggable. Would you use a stop drag when cursor hits a certain point? my div is a map and will be about 2000px by 2000px and want to have a fixed position and size of 500px by 500px so that that is all the user will see or be able to interact with. I know in image slider plugins that the divs scroll to the side or up and down through what appears to be a window so it should be possible?
Is there a jquery plugin that can scroll text in a div vertically?I have div with a set height that is filled with more content than can be seen.I'm looking for a way to vertically scroll the text or some way to page thru the content.
I've been desperately searching for a horizontal scroll plugin for my clients site but there always seems to be something that prevents the plugin from working with the layout of the site. Here's what I'm looking for:
-smooth horizontal scroll with no horizontal scroll bar
-scrolls div container which has nested divs (no width/height restrictions and only one container viewable at any given time)
-external navigation, fixed navigation preferred
-navigation should be text i.e. home / about / contact etc.
I am using jquery-ui for dialogbox and my dialogbox has scroll bar. There is a image in dialog box to which i am cropping image using the above plugin. But When I scroll the dialogbox and the image location changes then the imgareaselect box selection does not gets scrolled along with image. I found this issue even in [url] if I change the style of id="lightbox-container-image" to "height: 200px; overflow: scroll;" then I find the same issue.
I'm trying to implement the Growl option for the blockUI plugin, the "hard" way ( as seen here: http:[url].... second to last example). The reason why I'm going the "hard" way is because I'd like to have multiple Growl messages - one for an error,one for a success, etc, all of which have different background images / styles (ex: a red X for error, a green checkmark for a success).The "easy" growl method, while allowing for different text content,only allows for one style. Thus I'm trying to get around this limitation using the "hard" way:
subsequently adding different styles in my stylesheet. Yet I get an error that says "data.parent = node.parentNode", when I try and run the above code. Has anyone had any luck getting *different* growl messages with different styles/images in them to run on the same page?
Using Jquery Cycle Plugin i have multiple containers on the same page. they have a next and prev button. the problem is, when i click the next button it will cause the containers on the pageadvance simultaneously, same goes for the previous button. it works fine when i click just on the images (they will go to the next image) but not with the prev. and next. button. i know i have to add some kind of var. to it. and i tried it but with no luck.
my only issue is whenever 1st time it checks the record if found record it display message Record Found but whenever i try to change my textbox value it still gives me this message. it does not get reset if record not found.
In my application I am using resizable property for the <div> In my script i used like this $("div").resizable(); Its working fine for all the <div> tags. My requirement is to get the <div> id and I have to save the height, width of that particular <div>. I can able get the height and width of the every div but not the id. I tried in 2 ways like var divId=$(this).attr("id"); and var divId=this.id; in _mouseDrag() in the jquery.ui.resizable.js file. In both the cases divId is undefined.
I think this has probably been asked before but. I want to resize an element that has .resizable() on it. I want the resizable 'stop' event to trigger when it is done.
My resizable works great. I want to be able to set the width and height after init. How do I set the width and height from a javascript function? I am using the onClick event of an IMG to call a javascript function.
I want to set the height and width of my resizable, so I want to set ui.size.width and ui.size.height.
How do I reference ui.size.width and ui.size.height of my resizable within a javascript function?
I've got some problem with more then one plugin from jQuery.
My Problem is: if I use some "resizable background"-script (it works on IE7+/FF/Chrome), and the content is longer then 100% height of the screen (ipad/iphone), there's a white place at the bottom of my background-image.
The solution was, to fix the background, but it still doesn't work on mobile devices.
I have a web application where we pop up a little calendar control in a new window to allow users to choose dates. For cross-browser purposes, this is done via window.open (with some code to make it behave like a modal dialog) and I set the width and height of the window such that the controls fit nicely and it all looks good.
I have some users who are unable to see the OK and Cancel buttons at the bottom of the window due to some display settings on their machines. OK, I though, I'll just make the window resizable and they can then take control. How naive of me! Why on earth does IE decide that the minute I put 'resizable=yes' into my attributes for the new window that it should ignore the size?
I know I can do window.resizeTo in the onload of the calendar window, but I'm not keen on the resizing of the window.
I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to have IE open a resizable window of a given size without the resizeTo?
I have a function that opens a popup and I have told it not make the popup resizable but all browsers seem to ignore it and make it resizable anyway. This is the code
function openflvpopup(popurl){ window.open('FLV/play.php?file=' + popurl + '.flv', '', 'height=500px,width=550px,left=150px,top=150px,resizable=0') }
I have probably made a silly mistake but I have checked several tutorial website to make sure I write it in the syntax that they do. I can not see any mistakes.
<script language="JavaScript"><!-- /*RESIZABLE DOM GRID - (C) COPYRIGHTED DON WATSON 2003 ALL RIGHT RESERVED - DONWATS@USA.COM*/ function mouseevent(elm, _event, _function) { elm.attachEvent(_event, _function) }
function mousedetach(elm, _event, _function) { elm.detachEvent(_event, _function) }
function resizeGrid() { var srcElem = event.srcElement;
/*lets get the rule (css)*/ ruleNum = expandingTD.firstChild.className; /*assume its the span*/ ruleNum = ruleNum.substr(ruleNum.length-1,1);/*strip the num off the end*/
var _head = document.getElementsByTagName('head').item(0);
var dss = document.createElement("STYLE"); dss.id = "rowspans"; _head.appendChild(dss);
var _table = document.getElementById("grid"); var _tr = _table.getElementsByTagName("TR")[0]; var _td = _tr.getElementsByTagName("TD"); var colnum = 0;
I have a set of Div's which are all draggable, the coordinates of the div's are stored in a DB, so each time the page is reloaded the div's will have the same pos as they have when previous visitor left it.
There's one area on the page which uses the droppable function, when you place an div within the area the div, which is placed within the area. changes color.
My problem is that if a place a div in that area and then reload the page i find the div within the area but the div has the same color as if it would have when it's not located in the droppable area. In other words, It only changes color when I use the mouse to drag the div to the area not when it's positioned in the area with the coordinates from the DB.
I am searching a solution to change a ComboBox by popup I have found this script on the web. Is it also possible to select the newVendor just after adding? Is this script ok or are there better solutions?
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function message(value){ if(value=="newVendor"){// New Vendor is selected var vendor = prompt("Vandor's Name",""); var elementSelect = document.getElementById('vendor'); try{ [Code]....
I cannot seem to set a size for a text area relative to total screen width in CSS or HTML or Javascript? When I use CSS or a percent value in the cols attribute, they size the textarea as a percentage of another text area on the screen.
