JQuery :: Horizontal Scroll Plugin For Website Layout
Jan 27, 2011
I've been desperately searching for a horizontal scroll plugin for my clients site but there always seems to be something that prevents the plugin from working with the layout of the site. Here's what I'm looking for:
-smooth horizontal scroll with no horizontal scroll bar
-scrolls div container which has nested divs (no width/height restrictions and only one container viewable at any given time)
-external navigation, fixed navigation preferred
-navigation should be text i.e. home / about / contact etc.
I'm trying to get horizontal scroll to work on my website. Basically view click on the arrow images and the images would scroll left and right. However I can't seem to get it to work correctly. What am I doing wrong? So very confused right now.... Website in question: [URL]
I'm trying to create a horizontal layout for a client, the problem is that the width isn't predetermined, it changes depending on how many divs there are.
You can see what I mean here: [URL]
I'm thinking that somehow I need to calculate the widths of all of the combined .post divs, then use that total width calculation and set it as the width for the #content div, but I really don't know how.
i have 1 div with scrollbars and another div with a table inside. when user scroll horizontal bar in div1 i want application to scroll the table header from the same amount of pixels and in the same direction. i did not find anything under jQuery about that.. :-(
1. how can i detect in which direction the scroll is done (to the right, or to the left) ? 2. how can i determine how many pixels this scrolling is about ? 3. how to scroll the table header (table tag or th tag) from the same amount of point ?
i found just scrollLeft for now and i'm not successful to use it
Since the client user has no totally installed flash player in their computer, so that No need to detect if they have installed flash player. I try to create an alert and I found out that its impossible to put a link in the alert. Now I remove the flash installer in my computer, so that the flash in my webpage become a box. I want to happen when they open my webpage that contains a flash; an alert or message on the top was appearing saying that You do not have flash installed in your computer. Follow this link to get the installer. I try it using alert but the link is impossible to appear.
i am trying to make a horizontal site using localScroll:[URL]when i click in a link from the fixed menu in the left, the box scrolls below the menu. It is possible to make the box appears entirely?
There is a bug that I'm working on which involves a page that contains a portlet with a fixed width and horizontal scroll bar - the scroll bar does not appear to work in IE 9, but all other browsers seem to be fine. For simplicity I reduced the page to the following HTML snippet containing the style and javascript.
This HTML document displays a scrollable div with some text and a section that is right aligned which is updated via javascript so that it will continually displayed as right aligned. And yes, there are many other ways to accomplish this using pure CSS, but what I don't understand is this - why does updating the style.left of some child element stop the scroll from happening? It just doesn't make sense to me. Also... the reply "IE is just weird/buggy..." is not what I'm looking for
The numbers in the table are just to keep track of how centered the horizontal scroll bar is. Mess around with the table width; Change it to 100 or to 10000. The numbers stay aligned perfectly.
I need to present information in a horizontal format so that someone can look across a page and identify an objective with an activity just like an Excel spreadsheet (but it needs to be database enabled)
It would be useful to be able to 'freeze' the objective column and scroll the other columns horizontally. However I am not sure how to do this. Should I use JS, CSS or iframes. Can anyone suggest how this is done?
My problem is that my page have a fixed width of for example 800px which the iframe width is 100% of this width, but some external websites I put inside the iframe have a wider fixed width than 600, for example if the external website have the width of 1000px then my iframe will have a horizontal scroll. I don't want the horizontal scroll to appear and at the same time I want the iframe to show the whole width of the external website. Is there a way that I can control the width of the external website and make it 100% of the width of my iframe instead of their fixed 1000px for example? I don't think I can but I thought I would ask anyways maybe it's possible!
How is it possible to slide right/left within a horizontal scroll window for as long as the mouse-down action is triggered (preferably with jQuery)? Couldn't find any examples // functions to do that..
Is there a jquery plugin that can scroll text in a div vertically?I have div with a set height that is filled with more content than can be seen.I'm looking for a way to vertically scroll the text or some way to page thru the content.
I'm trying to use the gzoom Plugin (Link) on my page, but it didn't seem to work out.I followed the instructions on the webpage and jotted down the following code to apply zoom effect on a picture named 'kendwa_small.jpg'.
I am using jquery-ui for dialogbox and my dialogbox has scroll bar. There is a image in dialog box to which i am cropping image using the above plugin. But When I scroll the dialogbox and the image location changes then the imgareaselect box selection does not gets scrolled along with image. I found this issue even in [url] if I change the style of id="lightbox-container-image" to "height: 200px; overflow: scroll;" then I find the same issue.
Im new to javascript and I need to make a website for my computer science class that includes a photo gallery within a table and there has to be two buttons on top so you can scroll through the pictures.. a next and a back button. here is a link to the assignment [url]..
Here is our teachers example[url].. I tried to make my website but i am stuck!
I have been working on a website for fun/practice. I have been looking into web cam/audio support. However, I am trying to avoid Flash/SilverLight/or any other form of plug-ins.
After researching over the past few days I have found a couple of vague clues. According to my findings it may be possible to access video input (web cam) and audio input (microphone) via usage of Javascript with no need for Flash or plug ins.
I have been attempting to find further information but haven't been successful.
I come here to ask if anyone knows if this is indeed possible or if I have read false information.
I am using the jquery-ui resizable plugin, but I encountered some issues :
1) I had to add the ".ui-resizable" css for that plugin to work (hopefully I found a website explaining that workaround)
2) there is no "scroll" option like in draggable (!?)
3) the containment option does not work vertically on the official example [url] you are constrained horizontally, but not vertically. In my application, the containment option is buggy too : it seems to take into account the container outer margins, or something else, I don't know what, but my windows are constrained far too soon (no it's not maxWidth/maxHeight)
4) the alsoResize option is buggy : when the containment option is used, the "alsoResized" element is not constrained as well :-( Am I missing something ? Does someone have info on what's going on with this plugin ? (1.7.1, it's not an alpha version). if there is another resizable plugin available out there ? (like the one used in [url])
I use Accordion into a tab and I have a particular problem just on FF.. When I click an accordion header the whole layout move on the left side ... This is the page, so you can see my problem: [URL]
I just wonder if there is a jquery plugin or something that enable me to create a html pagelayout with drag n drop.
Lets say i have a blank page with a div container, then i have a couple of layout elements that i can drag into that container, like 2 coulmn, 1 column, 3 column.
I hope you understund what i mean. something like sitefinitys template builder but in a light version.[URL]
