Aug 3, 2011
This line is throwing error, ONLY in Firefox....
Code:
content = $(this).html();
Setting a property that has only a getter..
I am trying to GET content of element..
Now I thought you could GET an elem's .html()...
.html() - jQuery API and also acc. to this..
[URL]
I need to replace only partial content inside element, how do I do this if I can't GET the content of it?

I have a test jquery code like this
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="../js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$('#test').live('click', function() {
$('#test').after('<p>Hello world!</p>');
});
});
</script>
And then in php I have input fields with a running ID (field amount varies)
PHP Code:
foreach ($out as $key => $value){
$i = 0;
echo $value['name'] . ' : <input id="test'. $i .'" type="text" name="'. key .'" /><br>';
$i++;
}
So what I am trying to achieve is that when user clicks some of the running input fields. It would add the text content after this input field which was clicked. And if it has been added already it would not add the text content again under this field.

I have a table with multiple <td> elements. Each contains an <a>hreference. I want to add text before each <a> tag, but it is text dependent on the contents of the <a> tag. I can use the prepend()function to add a fixed piece of text as in $("td").prepend(" fixed piece of text")That works fine. But I'm trying to make the text depend dynamically on the contents of the <a> tag. Something like $("td").prepend($("a").text()).I get no text prepended, in any way that I have tried. Does anyone have any ideas about this or similar situations?

I am learning jQuery, and working on my current practice project am attempting to use it to move the content of a an iframe to a div element in its parent frame.Its rather straightforward, p3 is the div I want to load the content to with this function which should be triggered once the frame has finished loading (or once the DOM is ready, should not matter).Any input on where I am mistaken? It is not important that I use jQuery for this.

I'm developing a website right now for a clientIssue:On the homepage, the dropdown menu for "cities" (hover over "cities") gets overlapped by the Dynamic Content Gallery (DCG), which as a result cuts off bottom portion of the dropdown. Dropdown Menus are using Superfish.The issue only occurs in Firefox. It works fine in IE, hovering over the top of the DCG slide (weird, right?).Screenshot in FirefoxScreenshot in IEI was thinking it could be corrected by adjusting the z-index of the dropdown menu, but decided I would ask here first before I get in over my head.Attachments IE-Screenshot.jpgSize : 120.0 KB Download : 358Firefox-Screenshot.jpgSize : 119.87 KB Download : 353

I am echoing some dynamic content into a DIV based on form entries. The content is essentially a dynamic table, with results populated based on the user input. The user can further refine the database results by entering more data into other fields. All of this works fine. What I'd like to add is the ability to click on an <a> tag header on each column to sort by that column. I haven't gotten it to work, so I wanted to try a more simple test. I currently echo <a id='test' href='#'>Click Me</a> into the DIV set aside for AJAX response. I then setup a jquery .click() event monitor to simply alert me when I click on it. If I place this <a> tag in the main portion of the content that is static, I get the alert box. But when I put this into the content of the DIV tag generated dynamically by AJAX, it doesn't fire the alert. Is there something I need to do to 'reload' the page? Is the dynamically added content not part of the document since the entire page isn't reloaded?

I'm trying to create an accordion (jquery ui) that shows information about its items when clicked. The information for these items is grabbed from 4 locations:- one to get the item's basic structure info one to populate an 'interoperability' info box where the 'service' and 'about' properties match a box like the 'interoperability' box, but for 'similarity' info a file with user-created 'annotation' information about sub-items that could be shown.

I need a solution that will allow me to use link text in the header to raise an event that will push the content in the area below the header down as would a collapsible list type of construct. I want to display a login and registration fieldset, dynamic help, and validation response in the expanded area.
I have been searching high and low for DHTML or CSS solutions that will allow me to use collapsible content with both IE and Firefox. Not one of the many very well-known CSS gurus has any solution that I have discovered yet.

I am encountering this problem with Firefox, but no problem in IE. I have in a hidden <div> dynamically generated select options intended for re-use by dynamically created forms on page.
For Example:
<div>
<option value="1">xxx</option>
</div>
With javascript, when I use getElementById() to get the <div>, and then get the innerHTML, on IE I get the content just as they were generated out, and I was able to put this into an empty <select> and everything works. But when I try the same in Firefox, the innerHTML returns only the text part of the content. The "<option value="1">" part has been stripped off. Wondering if there's a solution to get around this?

I'm writing a firefox addon to readout the facebook-privacysettings of an user.
[url]
There are a lot of "Edit settings" which open a dialog like this:
The HTML code looks like this:
My solution idea was to fake the ajax call like this:
I got this parameter from Firebug, and i get the same answer as the "manual"-click. It's javascript code, beginning with "for...". however the dialog doesn't open, the DOM node isn't added and i get the alert "Error! Status = 200 OK"
So I just figured: why the comlicated way with ajax, can't I somehow fake the real manual click? If someone knows a way with ajax or faking the click?

alerts the innerHTML content in all the browsers. Except in Firefox 3.6.8, which alerts a blank value. What the f?:confused: I know that innerHTML is not a standard DOM method, but it used to be a crossbrowser one since FF 1.5, right? Edit: It does not work even in case of firstChild.nodeValue or firstChild.data. FF 3.6.8 says that the DIV element has no first child, which is amazing.

The scenario: 1) Generate a popup window via script. 2) Populate it (again
via script) with content that features local (hash) links.
In IE 6.x this works - the links work as they should, moving the document to
that document position. However in FireFox 1.x the links load the main page
(the opener) in to the popup.
Both browsers populate the location.href of the popup with the main page's
href... but this only adversly affects FireFox (which seems to, in this
scenario, reload the whole page on a local link). I tried manually
populating the location.href but no joy.
I've appended an example which demonstrates the problem. I've tried to
shave it down as much as I could. Just save it to an HTML page and load it
up in FireFox. Click the button then scroll down and click the link...
instead of returning to the top of the page I get the opener page's HTML
populated into the popup.
Any thoughts on how to address this? I've Googled, but it may just be that
I've been unable to hit on the right terms to uncover the answer.

I wrote an "ajax" script that pulls dynamic content into a div container via xmlhttp. There is a variety of lists on this page that are all ajax. Basically the up/down arrows in the Music, Photos, Users, Community etc boxes have this javascript funtion that replaces the innerHtml properties of a div to some response data from an asp.net object.
In IE these up/down arrows works fine and pull in data, but in FireFox the divs come up with "Undefined" in the div instead of the data.. Code:

At work I have written a form builder which is all drag and drop.
The issue I have is with ending the drop, I have no problems in IE. The drag is controlled by the onmousemove and onmouseup events for the document body.
The trouble is, in Firefox, if the cursor is over a form item, then the onmouseup event doesn't fire and therefore the drag doesn't end.
There is no problem with other items, other HTML items, tables, list, divs, then all bubble the event to the body.
Anyone ever come across this, if so how did you get round it.
Do I need to manually make form elements bubble in Firefox? Maybe I should just stick a div opacity 0 over the drag objects and make that call the body's onmouseup event.

I know this isn't in the context of the rest of the code but hoepfully it's enough to go on. Is anyone able to tell me why the following works in FireFox but not IE code...
I need it to be supported in both so I've put in a check to see which browser the code is currently dealing with and used both snippets in an if/else but it seems to me that something so straightforward shouldn't require this and I am missing something obvious.emulate the DOM property hasAttribute(attributename) in ie7?
