I paid to have a website built, yet the developer used iFrames to accomplish the task. Basically, load a parent page, and then in an iframe, lod content chosen from a menu. Is there a way to create a menu at the homepage level, that will allow a menu listing the various parent pages, and under each parent page, have a drop down that will point directly at an iframe content?
Im trying to use javascript to count only the direct li children of ul.So I tried childnode but im not really familiar with it.Basically the li items inside the li should not be counted.
after i've built an element, can i convert that element to html? the current method i'm thinking is to append this element to a new <Div> and call the Div's innerHTML but it feels rather dirty. is there a better solution?
I want to know how I could direct the user to a html document based upon which option I have chosen in the list (see above). So for example...
If I have chosen '1' in the list (see above), then when I submit the form, I will be directed to a page detailing information related to option '1'. If I have chosen '2' in the list (see above), then when I submit the form, I will be directed to a page detailing information related to option '2' etc.
I have a page with links that use jQuery to load individual pages of content into a main content area. On one of these pages, I want to be able to link to a specific anchor. (ie, when you click the link named "exec" on the main page, it loads the "services" page and then scrolls to the "exec" div.
[Code]...
Everything works beautifully in FF and Opera but in IE, I get an error message saying "top is null or not an object". It's referencing the line where "target_offset.top" is called, but this is legitimate syntax, so I don't understand the problem.
In the following code I am trying to pass the return value of the function "getrownum" to the PHP code...but the problem is, when i am trying to pass the return value of the forementioned function, i got no result. "please find my attempts highlighted below in red"code...
I want to change the content of different div's using .html(). The change should be done by clicking on the inner element of the container. The content of the clicked container should be changed with the first container. My problem is, that the following code does the change, but only once. After every div has changed one time, no more reaction is shown.
I'm having some problems understanding the append() function. What I'd like to do is select an element using it's ID and add a row to the table with a HTML form element. The table is dynamically generated using a Django template ( form.as_table() ) so I'm not able to alter the original HTML markup too much.
Normally, if you want to bind encapsulated event listeners to an object you have to test for support and then call the same function in different ways, for example:
But there's code repetition there - okay not very much, because it's just a function call ... but what if you wanted to use an anonymous function ..? Well you can't - the code repetition would be unacceptible.
Except that I've though of a way :) It's really obvious actually .. but I'm posting this in the hope that others will go "wow, that's blindingly useful" as I did when I thought of it :thumbsup:
Here it is - it takes advantage of square-bracket notation to use a string reference to the supported method:
.change() is only for form elements minus check boxes/radio buttons, etc.Are any of you aware of a script that does this already? Hopefully one that is easy to implement.I just want to monitor things like height, number of inner elements, or any change in the inner HTML.
I have a form that uses several text fields to set the footer of the current page. The fields are "Company name", "Street", "Town" and things like that. When a keystroke occurs in one of those fields, I update the footer with the corresponding info, using the "onkeyup" event. All this works fine. My form also has some checkbox to tell if the infos in the footer must be separated with bullet characters. In such case a bullet must be appended to the string retrieved from the current field, but only if the next footer info is not empty or does not start itself with a bullet. Similarly, if the previous footer info is empty and does not end with a bullet, a bullet must be added at the beginning of the current string. So, I have to make the UpdateFooter() function here below more subtle. From the "this" argument passed to that function, I've been unable to find with jQuery the previous and next <li>-encapsulated "siblings". I'm not sure that I really catched how to use "previous()" and "next()" efficiently.
I'm building a webpage using javascript and iframes. Basically I have an iframe in the middle of the index.html page that links to another html page (let's call it iframe.html). My question is, is it possible to call a javascript function from iframe.html to control an object on index.html? If so, how do I do this? I'd like to be able to assign an image in iframe.html with the hyperlink of href="javascript:function()", where the function effects the CSS of a div on index.html.
I have a test jquery code like this Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="../js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('#test').live('click', function() { $('#test').after('<p>Hello world!</p>'); }); }); </script>
And then in php I have input fields with a running ID (field amount varies) PHP Code: foreach ($out as $key => $value){ $i = 0; echo $value['name'] . ' : <input id="test'. $i .'" type="text" name="'. key .'" /><br>'; $i++; }
So what I am trying to achieve is that when user clicks some of the running input fields. It would add the text content after this input field which was clicked. And if it has been added already it would not add the text content again under this field.
how to do it If I have something like this: var d = {one:1, two:2, three:3}; and I want to add a new item to d, how can I do it? I have looked up the documentation and found the function called data (name, value) and I tried doing this $(d).data("four",4); but it wasn't added
I have a table with multiple <td> elements. Each contains an <a>hreference. I want to add text before each <a> tag, but it is text dependent on the contents of the <a> tag. I can use the prepend()function to add a fixed piece of text as in $("td").prepend(" fixed piece of text")That works fine. But I'm trying to make the text depend dynamically on the contents of the <a> tag. Something like $("td").prepend($("a").text()).I get no text prepended, in any way that I have tried. Does anyone have any ideas about this or similar situations?
I am learning jQuery, and working on my current practice project am attempting to use it to move the content of a an iframe to a div element in its parent frame.Its rather straightforward, p3 is the div I want to load the content to with this function which should be triggered once the frame has finished loading (or once the DOM is ready, should not matter).Any input on where I am mistaken? It is not important that I use jQuery for this.
I'm using the JQuery Template plug-in found here : [URL]..When I run my code as such:
$("#resulttmpl").render(result).appendTo("#resultdata"); Things work fine. However in my situation I need to get the actual HTML rendered into a variable. I've tried:
However none seem to be doing what I need (bringing back the full html). I've tried to debug what object is returned from .render() but I'm stuck. It looks like some sort of array. I've attached a picture from FireBug.
I have a web form (yeah) that I would like to have jquery direct the post and the form values to one of two php pages depending on the choice selected.
Ideal flow:
If a person selects radio button "email" and clicks submitsend form values to page1
-Generate and send email and report success
-User never actually sees page1
If a person selects radio button"view" and clicks submit send form values to page2.
I would like to add a key value to an object array. let's say i have 2arrays: var parArr = new Array('par1', 'par2', 'par3', 'par4'); var valArr = new Array('val1', 'val2', 'val3', 'val4');I would like to obtain ext={par1:val1, par2:val2,pa3:val3,par4:val4}
