JQuery :: Load Individual Pages Of Content Into A Main Content Area - Error "top Is Null Or Not An Object"

I have a page with links that use jQuery to load individual pages of content into a main content area. On one of these pages, I want to be able to link to a specific anchor. (ie, when you click the link named "exec" on the main page, it loads the "services" page and then scrolls to the "exec" div.

Everything works beautifully in FF and Opera but in IE, I get an error message saying "top is null or not an object". It's referencing the line where "target_offset.top" is called, but this is legitimate syntax, so I don't understand the problem.
I'm trying to use the $.ajax to load an html file that has content grouped by divs with id's. I would then call the correct content via its id depending on the window.location.hash. I'm having trouble figuring out how to append the content to the existing <div class="content"> on the page.

I have come across an issue that only happens with IE.I have a custom save function that is designed to handle different ajax submits but I will simplify it for debugging. The issue is that once I make a submit everthing is fine at first. Then once I try to submit a second time it craps out. I am checking to see if there is an onsubmit function and then executing it like so before continuing. After the inital submit it is no longer found. When I alert the typeof document on the form it returns object but when I add the onsubmit it says object expected or object is null or undefined.

I am using the following code to show and hide several dynamic content areas on a page. It works like an accordion where when you open one it closes the other.
Is there a way I could change it to so it doesn't automatically close one when another is open? Meaning I would like to have multiple content areas expanded at once. I would also still want to be able to manual close them if I want.
This question may be simple, but I don't know how to do it. (I'm getting hava script error) I have 04 master pages and around 100s of ASPX pages. So when I want to work in some conent page where should I use my $(document).ready(function(). I already have used this in Master pages. [code]...
i am starting a new project using Visual Studio 2010 ad using the same jQuery filesofa previous project that didn't cause errors.Visaul Studio always raisesthe same error in jquery.min.js Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'parentNode' is null or not an object I click on "continue" for that error message and the page loads fine and I don't see the javascript error icon in the bottom left corner of IE. This really baffles me. When I launch the application using Firefox I don't get an error in Visual Studio. Does anyone have any tips on debugging this jquery.min.js ? Has anyone seen something similar. Just starting this project and I already lost 12 hours troubleshooting this problem. I would like to create a mega drop down navigation in my next project but which includes a page content fade out on hover so the contents of the drop down nav are brought to the front and focused on. I've seen this technique here [URL] and was wondering how I would create this effect myself?
I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
I am getting an error on this code - sometimes! - and I'm not sure what it is. If I run this as is there is no error. If I add it into another page with other stuff it's ok for a while and then I get an error. So, I added my new page block my block to this code and waited for the error to appear so I could determine a conflict - but it was fine. And then a few clicks later the error.
This is the error in IE. In Firefox it seems to be fine.
The function is simply called in an onclick event. you can ignore the for loop that all works fine, that just swaps some images in a list.
But the line that is causing the problem is supposed to insert the id of the element that called the function into the input 'ratingField'
What is wrong with this line of code? the debugger says 'is null or not an object'
There is nothing wrong with star.id it is used elsewhere in the function and definately contains a value so I think the problem might be with the ratingInput.value part or the line
We are looking to implement something similar to the navigation found at this site: [URL] When you click on ABOUT, CONTACT, or LAB, the appropriate div within the content-main div shows/hides as appropriate. Fancy. I'm happy to read up on this on my own, but I don't really know how they accomplished this, so I'm not sure what to research. Since the page doesn't refresh, I'm assuming AJAX may be involved? Most importantly, I'm very interested in how their URL structure works. It looks like #about is an anchor that they are linking to. I thought about doing it in PHP, which I'm more familiar with, but I'd rather not refresh the page if I don't have to.

The problem I am having is that on the main content page, you scroll down, click on link to pop up (page loads) but the main parent content jumps back to the top of page, meaning you have to scroll back down to where you were.
I have a bug that is only seeming to effect IE 8.Also has a weird display issue in IE8, but not in "compatibility view", which the bug may fix. Works and looks beautiful is Safari and Firefox.

I have a simple JQuery code. When a link is clicked, the HTML content is taken from a page(remotely) and placed in a specified area, like a div in another page. My question is, how do I add additional links to this script so that each link pulls HTML content from different divs?

I am currently using a popup window to establish the dimensions of a window, specifically based on the the width/height of the content area.
I would prefer to simply resize it and avoid the need for a popup altogether, but this is made difficult due to inconsistancies as to how resizeTo() accounts for whatever toolbars are 'on' which varies from browser to browser and platform to platform.
The site is coded to W3C (X/HTML, CSS) and the DOM/DHTML content is gradually being rewritten in accordance with the W3C DOM.).
