I'm trying to change the value of an input field (target) which depends on another input (source). It works well when I manually change the source value. But if I changed the source value with another button, the target value remains the same.
Here's the code...
$(document).ready(function() {
$('input#change').click(function() {
$('input#source').attr('value', 'This is the value changed by a
button');
[Code].....
So how could the target input detect if there's a change within the source input without manually changing it's value?
JQuery - Event triggered by div position Is it possible to use JQuery to trigger an event from the position of a div in relation to the browser window. I have this demo pageHEREthat contains three div's positioned below each other.
When I scroll down the page I want an alert to say "Div one in view", "Div two in view" etc. I know more than one div could be visible in the browser window but I wanted it to alert the one in the centre of the window. I was thinking it would be best to fire an event when the div is a set distance from the top of the browser window - I don't know where to start with it, or if using the distance from the top of the browser is the best way.
i have a link that onclick calls function printSection<a class='print' href='javascript:printSection();'>Print</a>i want to find out which link isit so i can get the parent, and dowhatever i need to
I use the plugin jquery.contextMenu.js to open a custom popup menu when a user right click to a specific html element. Nox, I want to show this popup menu when a simple onclick event occurs in a specific element. I have see that JQuery propose trigger method but there is no oncontextmenu event !
I am trying to make an animation on website spiderspun .co .uk (spaces added to avoid being called a link builder )
I have two div: #sidebar1-menu ul{position:relative;background-image:url("../spiderisms.png"); background-position:525px 110px;background-repeat:no-repeat;}
So I have an event handler for the KeyDown event in a Javascript file but for some reason it does not get called the first time a key is pressed. However, if a key is pressed or a mouse button clicked then the next time I press a key it does get called. Here is the relevant code:

I have been trying to archieve the following with no luck.
- We have a Java Applet that handles fileuploads
- Once the applet finished uploading the files to server, onUploadFinish() is triggered
onUploadFinish() function contains the following
Code:
As highlighted in the above code, I am unable to submit the form automatically. I am certain that onUploadFinish() is triggered because all other statements in onUploadFinish() kicks in and the whole thing works like a charm apart from submission. Is there a rule that forms cannot be submitted this way?
I am using Lightbox+ and overall it's very good for my needs. However it has a small problem. If you goto [URL] and click on the image "Sample 2" then use the next arrow to go to "Sample 3" you have to hover off the image and then back on to get the previous and zoom icons to show again. I have been able to make the bug occur every time in both Firefox 3.6 and IE6. I am guessing the mouseover event isn't triggering correctly due to the image object moving underneath the mouse pointer but I just can't fix it.
when I call my "moveObject" function by an onMouseUp event handler like this:
<script> document.onmouseup = function (e) { moveObject(e,testTable); }; </script> everything works fine. But I would like to call that function not by clicking anywhere in the document, but by clicking on a table clell. I used this:
I'm trying to create an internal web app to work with Opera Mobile (in this case I am able to restrict the user base to just one browser, so not too worried about other cross browser issues). I need to be able to capture when the user hits the Enter key in a form field. I was intending just to use the standard Javascript event.keycode/which == 13 method. The issue I am having is that hitting the Enter key doesn't seem to trigger as a keypress, keydown, keyup event.My guess is it has something to do with the keypad that automatically pops up. I'm happy for any work around here, whether it is able to be done in Opera Mobile settings or by doing something different/firing a different event in Javascript.Example code:
I have a query(JQuery) here. can you plz help me in fixing the issue with this code. That is when I click on <tr> of first table that should get removed from first table and added to second table. It is happening fine and good. But when I double click on the <tr> that is added to second table no event is triggered. Why?
Trying to use a <body id=""> tag to simulate a hover event on any given image of my navbar. Is it possible? Could a "swap image" script work? I'm willing to place the images in an "li,ul" list if need be.
I am trying to show a timestamp in a tooltip and it is telling me the date is 'invalid'. However if I alert() out the variable, and hardcode it directly into the statement it works fine. For some reason it appears to be disliking the variable itself. My guess is that it is trying to read 'x' as a date and not a variable containing a date, but I have tried several ways around it to no avail.
Code:
Code:
the above returns with the date as I expect it to.
The showTooltip function requires 3 parameters, (x Position of tooltip, y position of toolip, contents of toolip) x and y are datapoints plotted on a graph
Not that it should matter but I am working with jquery.
I'm using code below to run a function when the user move the mousepointer from within a DIV and outside it:The idea is that that mousepointer motion shall hide the DIV.
Code:
document.getElementById(theID).onmouseout = hideDiv; if (document.getElementById(theID).captureEvents) document.getElementById(theID).captureEvents(Event.MOUSEOUT);
It kind of works, but the problem is that if I move the mousepointer to fast out of the DIV then it will not trigger.The div in question has some elements within it, and originally it was allmost fully covered by those element... and then the onmouseout did not work that good....So I had to create some padding for the div to make it detect the onmouseout better... kind of work... but sometimes failes to trigger on the onmouseout.That padding also make the div not look that good ... so would like to get rid of all the padding as well, and make it work, if possible.I have tested this in the following browsers and get pretty much same behaviour in them all:IE8, Firefox (latest), Chrome (latest), Safari for win (latest beta)...
How do I simulate a ESC key without user intervention? For example I want the ESC key be executed in the background when a page loads or a user clicks on a link? Is it possible in jQuery?
I know there are ways to validate what key was pressed on the keyboard using .keypress but I am looking for something like 'SENDKEYS'
I have a keypad that inserts a number into a div (simulates pin number). How do i create a "backspace" or delete button that will remove the last character added.[code]...
Have one row of a TR trigger the TR below it with a colspan of 13 to show the additional description.
I learned that jquery and colspan don't get along too well so based off other posts I knew to put a div inside the td.
The snipped code is:
So, as you can see I want to show and hide the div with the class="mapsearchinfo".
This is what I have so far and its not working (it hides just fine, and will do an alert on click so I know its something with showing where the div is):
As you can see I'm trying to show the div below what has been clicked (with a toggle in case it needs to be closed) and also close any other open ones.
For now the full scale testing is occurring at [url]
I have a div i would like to present and while it is presented i would like to disable everything else behind (like what modal dialog does). I'de like to write it myself and not use a plugin, is it hard to do?
how to use the autocomplete jQuery plugin best to my needs. I'm looking to replace a select box with the Autocomplete plugin, but not quite sure how to accomplish this. In my select box, I have the option that is displayed is not the same as the data that is submitted. ex: <option value="123">This is Displayed </option> However, with the autocomplete, since it is using a textbox, the values that are displayed, are submitted. Do I have to hack around using hidden fields to accomplish this type of behaviour?
I am curious if it is possible to use jQuery to simulate a rollover event after a page has loaded entirely.
Essentially, if you had a navigation menu with dropdown lists, could you make the lists drop down in order, one after another, each for 5 seconds, after the page has finished loading entirely?
