JQuery :: Findout Out Which Mouseover Element Has Triggered Event?
Mar 21, 2011
I am trying to make an animation on website spiderspun .co .uk (spaces added to avoid being called a link builder )
I have two div:
#sidebar1-menu ul{position:relative;background-image:url("../spiderisms.png");
background-position:525px 110px;background-repeat:no-repeat;}
I am using Lightbox+ and overall it's very good for my needs. However it has a small problem. If you goto [URL] and click on the image "Sample 2" then use the next arrow to go to "Sample 3" you have to hover off the image and then back on to get the previous and zoom icons to show again. I have been able to make the bug occur every time in both Firefox 3.6 and IE6. I am guessing the mouseover event isn't triggering correctly due to the image object moving underneath the mouse pointer but I just can't fix it.
i have a link that onclick calls function printSection<a class='print' href='javascript:printSection();'>Print</a>i want to find out which link isit so i can get the parent, and dowhatever i need to
im having trouble using JQUERYs animate function. Basicly the div has a mouseover event that slides another div (that is inside the original div) upwards. The first div has a mouseout event that slides the second div downwards and out of view. The problem being that when you hover over the second div it fires the first divs mouseout event. Ive tried googling this and have tried adding some event bubbling but having serious trouble with it. here is the website... [URL] hover over the image and you should see the caption appear, roll over the caption and it goes crazy.
JQuery - Event triggered by div position Is it possible to use JQuery to trigger an event from the position of a div in relation to the browser window. I have this demo pageHEREthat contains three div's positioned below each other.
When I scroll down the page I want an alert to say "Div one in view", "Div two in view" etc. I know more than one div could be visible in the browser window but I wanted it to alert the one in the centre of the window. I was thinking it would be best to fire an event when the div is a set distance from the top of the browser window - I don't know where to start with it, or if using the distance from the top of the browser is the best way.
I'm trying to change the value of an input field (target) which depends on another input (source). It works well when I manually change the source value. But if I changed the source value with another button, the target value remains the same.
Here's the code...
$(document).ready(function() { $('input#change').click(function() { $('input#source').attr('value', 'This is the value changed by a button');
[Code].....
So how could the target input detect if there's a change within the source input without manually changing it's value?
So I have an event handler for the KeyDown event in a Javascript file but for some reason it does not get called the first time a key is pressed. However, if a key is pressed or a mouse button clicked then the next time I press a key it does get called. Here is the relevant code:
........................... // Other stuff $(function()
I have been trying to archieve the following with no luck.
- We have a Java Applet that handles fileuploads
- Once the applet finished uploading the files to server, onUploadFinish() is triggered
onUploadFinish() function contains the following
Code:
As highlighted in the above code, I am unable to submit the form automatically. I am certain that onUploadFinish() is triggered because all other statements in onUploadFinish() kicks in and the whole thing works like a charm apart from submission. Is there a rule that forms cannot be submitted this way?
when I call my "moveObject" function by an onMouseUp event handler like this:
<script> document.onmouseup = function (e) { moveObject(e,testTable); }; </script> everything works fine. But I would like to call that function not by clicking anywhere in the document, but by clicking on a table clell. I used this:
I'm trying to create an internal web app to work with Opera Mobile (in this case I am able to restrict the user base to just one browser, so not too worried about other cross browser issues). I need to be able to capture when the user hits the Enter key in a form field. I was intending just to use the standard Javascript event.keycode/which == 13 method. The issue I am having is that hitting the Enter key doesn't seem to trigger as a keypress, keydown, keyup event.My guess is it has something to do with the keypad that automatically pops up. I'm happy for any work around here, whether it is able to be done in Opera Mobile settings or by doing something different/firing a different event in Javascript.Example code:
I have a query(JQuery) here. can you plz help me in fixing the issue with this code. That is when I click on <tr> of first table that should get removed from first table and added to second table. It is happening fine and good. But when I double click on the <tr> that is added to second table no event is triggered. Why?
This is just a page swapping images on the mouseover event, but i want to remove the mouseover events from all links when the the on click function is triggered, this is the html code,
I have a PHP background but recently I have been trying to float a div next to a div on a mouse over event. I have Googled and Googled and can't find a way, all I keep getting is tooltips, they are good but they move with the mouse, I need the same effect but for the div that pops-up to be static and the same place every time across multiple divs, and jump the other side of a given div if it's at the edge of the page.
example code $(".main").mousemove(function(e) { var mouseX = e.pageX; var mouseY = e.pageY;
i have a problem in mouseover and mouseout events.when the mouse is on the image a div will show,but when mouse is on that shown div something loops happened.Here is the working example:Jsfiddle
Here's my problem. I have a list with items, it's a <ul> containing <li> elements. These are covered by a transparent <div> (used for mousetracking and speed calculations). Now how do I get jquery to catch the onmouseover event on the list elements? The div is catching all events, so none of them are fired by the li elements. Is there a way?
I quite like the fact that you may add through JQuery an attribute like alt or title to an element. And I can see that you may also add mouseover using: $('#aa').mouseover(function(){//does something in here}); However, I want to be able to pass some very specific values too and that's where I'm stuck for an answer. Suppose I want to attach the following: mouseover="hm(this,'la1',5)"attribute to an <a> tag. How do I do this by using exactly those values inside the "hm(this,'la1',5)" ?
It appears I can not put a mouseover and mouseout even on the same element. Which I find very strange because css can do it. why cant jquery ? What I am doing is enabling and disabling a textfield based on whether the mouse is over or off the textfield. if its over, its disabled, if its out then its enabled. Is this possible ?
I have this code for animating a vertical menu. It changes the width of a menu item to using .animate().
So the behaviour now is: When my mouse is over the menu item, it expands (width 220px), when I remove my mouse it shrinks back (width 95px). Now I want it to stay expanded when I click on it and shrink back and expand a new menu item when I click it.
Menu item are listed, using different css classes for designing their looks.
I am trying to accomplish two things on this demonstration page.
1. Have a image slideshow
2. On mouseover the slideshow temporarily stops and a caption comes up and stays until mouseout. At which point the slideshow begins again.
Currently right now the slideshow cycles, but the caption part is erratic. It shows on document load and also continues to show on mouseout. Furthermore if you mouseover the image several times it and then move away it keeps firing.
So the idea is, once the first li item is hovered over, the div with classname "nav" has it's class removed and has "navbg" added (which has the alternate background image).
As far as I understood, stopPropagation() is supposed to stop events bubbling 'up' though the element tree (through parent elements). Eg. If I use stopPropagation() on a click event on an anchor element in a list, the event would not be triggered on the list. In my code I have a popup div, that needs to have stopPropagation(), as a click on the document (everywhere other than the popup) will hide it. When I add an element to the popup that has a live click event, the live click event is never called, even though it is a child element of the popup. Shouldn't the live click get called first? If I remove the stopPropagation all is well.. some code:
