JQuery :: Searching To Float A Image To Whole Page?
Feb 21, 2011
I was searching to float a image to whole page, suppose I am having a butterfly image (.gif) now I want to fly it in my whole page, this page already contains lots of data or HTML elements, so that image should fly in above of all this data / element. So i was wandering that is it possible with jQuery.

All I can find is about style:float which is not what I want. I would like to animate an image randomly around the screen. So, it could slowly float across the screen, and would randomly choose its motion.

On one of my test sites I have an image that when you mouseover it has an enlarged image with description pop up which floats or aligns downward (default). Does anyone know the code or tag to make it float/align upward?
These images are near the bottom of the page so I want the pop up to pop up into the page and not down below the page line.[URl]..

I have region which initially needs to be fixed in a certain position. After data is returned to the page and the user scrolls down to the bottom instead of remaining in its fixed postion I want my region to float to the top of the page, if I scroll right back to the top I want the region to revert to its original position.I found a very handy demo that did what I want ( http://fiddle.jshell.net/zsJAr/show/light/) BUT it uses JQuery and I am unable to use JQuery in my pages. Does anyone know how I can replicate what this demo was but without JQuery?
p.s. we are using script.aculo.os and prototype but I can't seem to find anything similar.

It is possible to perform a find in page search that looks at a specific link, opens the page in a new window and finds the text within that document? Basically I regularly use an html page in work that has a list of people and their telephone numbers.I want to be able to type in a searchbox on my main page and it open the target page and find the name I am looking for?Is this possible or can you only Find In Page on the same page or another frame?

I want to use an image map for something unique. The image would have about 10 to 15 (religious) symbols. When the user clicks on a particular symbol it will search the site for a few strings relating to that symbol. For example: Symbol 1 would be a cross when clicked it search the site for "christ, crucifix, christianity". I am sure I can make the image map but how do I make the image map call a function instead of a link.

Im trying to have a click event that replaces an image on the page with a new image that has been selected randomly from an array. I have solved PART of this already (can get the random image to appear).
However, instead of appearing on the page where the old image was, the new image appears in a blank page.
My research indicates that this blank page location-problem is a result of using document.write in the Function. Therefore, I know I need to find a different way to accomplish this, but am failing miserably.
I have been trying for hours and hours and HOURS to figure out proper syntax for accomplishing this via elements, functions, variables and mootools.
A bit of my research:
-I found this---but havent figured out how to implement it in my scenario:

Is it possible to have a text box input searching for the entered text on another webpage in the same way Find In Page would do? I have a webpage that I want users to input an item, and that this will open the targeted webpage and bring you to (and highlight) the matched item(s) like find in page does. Is this possible or is the easiest way to just make users open the link to the target page and just complete the find in page search there?

I have a jQuery object upon which I am setting the 'top' value using the .css() method. The value is to Float accuracy:
$('#example').css('top', 13.857759);
Setting the value works fine, and the result in the DOM is:
<div id="example" style="top: 13.857759px;">...</div>
However, when I go to retrieve the value using the .css() method, the value is returned as an integer: alert($('#example').css('top')) // alerts "13px" Is this an intentional quirk of jQuery, or considered to be a bug?

I use the validation from [URL] and have a problem with float values on the validation.I have implemented the following on my page:
<script src="/admincustomers/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/
javascript"></script>
<script src="/admincustomers/js/validate/jquery.metadata.js"
[code]....
the user enters his values in 4, 5,25,6,00 or 6,05 etc.(using the , sign)and the max validation only takes integers. How can I still make the max validation with the , sign and float values? The users isn't allowed to submit the form if the value is greater than the max value specifyed.

I am trying to search an AJAX response for an ID, but it is not working as intended.
// Some code omitted
success: function(result) {
$('#load').fadeOut(250, function() { // Fading out my loading gif
$(this).remove(); // Removing it
[Code]....
So, to sum up the problem: I want to search the result variable for a form with the ID of "memberForm". If it is not found, that means the login was not successful and therefore error messages should be shown (that is what happens within my if sentence braces). If memberForm was found (the else sentence), then that code should be executed. But my if sentence always validates to true, so apparently there is something wrong with it. These are the possible return values that will be stored in the result variable:
If the login was successful:
<form method="post" name="memberForm" id="memberForm" action="logout.php">this is the form</form>
Not successful:
<br /><div class="validation" id="logfail">Login failed. Invalid login combination or inactive account.</div>

I need to restrict a range of values to a textbox. I have already the minimum and maximum value allowed in the textbox, but is missing me intermediate values.
An example: From the minimum value -2,00 to maximum value 0,00 it accepts: -2,00 | -1,75 | -1,50 | -1,25 | -1,00 | -0,75 | -0,5 | -0,25 | 0,00 From the minimum value 0,00 to maximum value 1,00 it accepts: 0,00 | 0,25 | 0,50 | 0,75 | 1,00

I'm trying to get a next/previous arrow to float over the right/left edges of a slideshow div. I'm using to absolutely positioned divs to contain the next/previous buttons but for whatever reason they refuse to display above the slideshow div. Is there any way to get controllers to float over the cycle container?
Here's my code and if you give it a try you won't see the floating next/previous buttons unless you change the 'top' values for #next_btn and #prev_btn in the CSS to be greater than the height of the image (change to 410 to see them in my example):
<style>
#container {width: 500px;}
#container {position: relative;}
#next_btn {position:absolute; top:10px; right:5px;}
[Code]....

Using a UI dialog I'd like to load in 10 or so images. Each would be unique and after you click on one the following needs to happen:
1. Image appears on the parent page in a specified ID.
2. A "hidden" field is updated so that when the user submits the db is updated with their selection.
3. Dialog closes automatically.
That's it. Basically it would work similar to "datepicker".I'm using the latest 1.4 and ui and been making great progress as learning basics. I need to do the above and it seems like such a no brainier and or it should already exist but after 2 days of searching and trial and error...
