JQuery :: Pass Field ID Dynamically To Show() And Hide() Methods?
Jul 29, 2010
I am working on JQuery show and hide methods. I want to show and hide some fields. But those fields are dynamically generated. I have generated those field ids also dynamically. But i am unable to pass that dynamically generated id to the show or hide method. My code is as follows: please suggest me how to pass the ID dynamically.
I intend to have this code below generated dynamically (being able to have from 12 to 40 rows). (created from C# code)
<tr> <td align="center"> <h2> 01</h2>
[Code].....
Can this jQuery function be created so I can add the function to "#<%= chbNuevoJugXX.ClientID %>" instead of "#<%= chbNuevoJug01.ClientID %>" and then use the XX to how hide the corresponding row?
i have several programmatically generated DIVSectionsin my WebApplication. And i have for each of these DIVSectiona RadioButton Group. When the user now checks the RadioButton of the associated DIV-Section theSectionshould be Shown. And when he checks the other RadioButton the DIVSectionshould be hidden. How could a jQuery Function and a call look like, which does the above action? Here my sample:
I am trying to hide/show table when hide/show button is pressed
Problem: The code works fine when I remove 'slow' from line 10. But with 'slow' in line 10 content of toggleButton doesnt change from Hide to Show when pressed.
I have created a user form in which visitors can fill in sections, some of which are hidden or displayed using the onclick to trigger a DIV to display or hide then submit the results to a database using ASP. All works fine with that, however... I have created another page which retrieves the results for an individual's form submission, and I want to hide the sections that were not completed (hidden when submitted). How can I get my page to hide or show DIVs, depending on the value retrieved from a particular field within the database? i.e. if Question1Response="A", show Div ID="A Section" If Question1Response="B", show Div ID="B Section" etc.
I have a form with a field that asks for a full year. If the year is greater than 20 years ago, I'd like additional form fields to be revealed. If the year is equal to or less than 20 years ago, it will not reveal the fields. (And it should be based on getFullYear(), so I don't have to update the script every year, yeah?)
I figured out how to script onclick functions and some basic .value == functions in order to show/hide just about every type of form field. So I don't need that info. But I'm unsure of how to calculate the value.
For some security reasons I would like to show an email field in a form ONLY if the 4 checkbox are checked.I don't want to use server side coding so I need to use javascript.I have this code, showing an alert if the 4 checkboxes are checked:
<html> <head><script> var conta=0; function ctr(quale)
[code]...
It works but I nedd to ask for an email instead of showing an alert.
I have one long text field in HTML to feed text as input in my page. the entered text will be shown as output text after some operations. In this context, i need to display few text(say 200 chars) only and i need to provide READMORE link/button which would show me the complete content of that text field. I need to achieve this shortly!
I'm scripting Adobe InDesign via JS. (don't be frightened this post is purely about JS problem)
I've created custom 'Classes' for custom InDesign objects. They all inherit common methods from generic 'Item' class. Now the problem is that most of these methods need acces to the arguments of the child's constructor.
The client is a realtor with a non-standard intranet which is a "conferencing" system with a very interesting built-in web server (FirstClass). They post property listings to conferences as email messages, with the property address as the message subject. I'm trying to place the addresses on a Google map using the goMap() plugin.
I've figured out how to read the conferences and extract the addresses to a web page, either as well-formed JSON or as a string formatted exactly as one would hard code it for goMap, but when I attempt to initialize a map it either rejects it with an error, or ignores it and gives me the default map (of Europe). If I copy/paste the server-generated string into the init function it works just fine.
I'm writing a function to populate a SELECT based on the select value of another SELECT. I can't figure out why this isn't working. It has something to do with not having "'s in my $(). for example: If this function wasn't dynamic.
The code: $(countryElementIDHash).val(); could simply be $("#country option:selected").val(); How can I pass dynamically assigned names into a $() ?
I have a text field, call it income, that when the input is > 0 I need to dynamically show the next text box, and if it is blank hide the next text box. I would like to use onBlur but can't seem to get it to work.
I have recently started exploring the world of jQuery and it looks incredibley rich and powerful! I am stuck on something, though. When I dynamically create a div
var divTag = document.createElement("div"); //Set the parameters divTag.id = "divMaster"; //Create it and immediately hide it!
[Code].....
This is probably really obvious, but I cannot figure out why? Perhaps jQuery is looking for elements already in the original HTML, and my div tag was added to the DOM after loading the original elements?
I'm trying to overcome one feat, and I've just ran the course of my little knowledge of javascript. Here is the code that concerns us. code...
It gives me an undefined, right off the bat before any uploading, or anything at all takes place. I'm guessing this is because this value is set on page load, and not before the actual upload actually happens.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can set this value when the upload begins with the variable from the text file ? Keep in mind it has to be inside the function it's in now or it wont work.
Note that the loadXMLDocument function isn't called until the upload is complete, the .bind at the bottom of the page.
I always want "smenu3" to show with "smenu4" and "smenu5" collapsed... When the user clicks the link, it calls a javascript function to show "smenu4" like so...
How to add an ID to dynamically created input field. Type of serial Input field its possible to add, but If I insert any input field in the middle is the problem for me.

I have some divs laid on top of each other. By clicking somewehre specific I want to hide all the divs but except for one - which is related to the point i clicked - to show up.Here is my code so far:The function will be called by something like this:
All these divs are in the same from the right_nav-class.I guess the problem lies within line 6, where I want to select the div that should show up and is given as the argument of the function. The commented lines are things I already tried, but didn't work either, especially $(this).style seems to be invalid. It does hide all divs as i want, but the one i want to show again doesn't show up. It just stays hidden...
I got this example code which show rows when click on it, the problem is it shows all but I want if I click on one row it shows that one and hide others.
