Mar 16, 2010I am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.

Or, if the user selects regular registration for non-member it sets the early bird text field back to 0.00 and populates the text field with he value for the regular expression code. At the same time it populates the total field with the total price. I hope this makes sense. How can I accomplish this using JavaScript or jQuery? The text fields are read only. Radio Button With Text Field (Disable / Enable)
May 10, 2009I have javasctipt,radio buttons, and textfield in default my textfield is disabled, and when any of radio buttons was click it is disabled also, but when the radio button of the textfield is click it will enable, it works fine and submit the correct data. When I went back to that page the radio button of the text field was checked (ok its fine because it has value) but it didnt show the value of the text field, and it is disabled. I want to repost the input...

I have pretty much completed my script but now what I want it to do is to add more forms/field when the "Other" radio button is selected. So when the Other button is checked, I want the script to display more fields/forms below. Only when the "other" button is selected. When "other" selected the script should display fields like "cheque", "cash", "Payment" etc.

Jan 23, 2010Ran into an issue today I wasn't able to sort out on my own or through a Google search:I have this form where I wanted to select a radio button when the containing div was clicked. So, on the click of the div, I would say that the radio's attribute of checked was set to checked.It all worked fine until I put on the document.ready to hide all the radios.Thus, with a hidden radio input, I was unable to manipulate the checked attribute. As of right now I have it setup to grab product info for an external file and display on order_form.html(function addprod on line 29), in the h4 tag(line 250) is where the 'prodid' is displayed, I am needing to see if there is a way to get that value put into the hidden field(line 260) to be passes along.

I need to pass the URL of the current page as a hidden field through the form when it's submitted. Do I need to add javascript to the header to call a function pulling the URL and then a secondary function to place it in the hidden field's "value" attribute?

when i onclick the radio button, i call two function. the radio buttons value is loop from the Db so it has differnet name for every row. when i clicked on the radio button, one of the calling fucntion is chkPhoto('1')--> it will pass the photoid to the fucntion. if let say got three photo or more, how can i pass the value(assign it into the hidden text field name 'photo'? i would like to assign it in this format --> 1.2.3 with the delimiter join on the checked photo value.

Jul 27, 2011I'm pretty new to coding. I have a form with two radio buttons to choose from. I would like a custom javascript function (fillShowTypeCost) to automatically update a text field with the correct amount of money, based on which radio button is selected. I originally had this form done with checkboxes and it worked just fine. Since I switched to radios, I am completely lost. I have tried using an array search to determine which value is selected, but I must be doing something wrong, because it isn't working. My codes are below. (The PHP end of things are working great.)

Linking Text Field To Hidden Field?
Apr 2, 2009I have created a html purchase request form that people will fill out and submit to make purchase requests within my company. In this html form, I have a text field that is automatically populated when the page is pulled up. The text field is populated with the name of the person who is logged in and it is read only so they cannot be deceitful or anything.To get to this HTML Request form, you must log in through a webclient thus the server knows to populate your name because you are the one logged in. The text field populates because of its <input NAME = "OBProperty_CurrentUserRealName", which is a keyword the program identifies and knows to populate with the logged in users name into that particular text field.
That works all fine and dandy, so here is where the problem lies. When submitting the overall form request, the populated name isnt being saved/ carried over to the admin page so we do not know who it was submitted by.To make the persons name carry over and save, another field name keyword must be used.
Which is OBKey__163_1. Which it was suggested to me to make that the input name of a hidden field. I need "text field A" to continue to populate the form with the persons name using OBKey_CurrentUserRealName, then pass the persons name off to a hidden field containing the input name=OBKey__164_1, which will thus save/pass the persons name on with the rest of the filled out request form when its submitted.

Jul 16, 2011I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.

Enable A Submit Button On Hidden Field Population?
Aug 24, 2009I thought this would have been fairly simple but it appears the onchange event isn't triggered when a hidden field is populated by other javascript without user input.
I have a simple search box and autocomplete/suggestion ajax thingie going on.
What I want to do is have my "Go" submit button disbled until AFTER a user has populated the hidden field "cid". A user populates this field automatically when they click on a suggested option from the ajax autocomplete doofer.
Here's what I've tried at the moment but failed on.

Erasing Entry And Associated Hidden Field With Delete Button
Nov 5, 2010I'm trying to think of the best way to do this, and have it be browser-friendly (Read: Runs in IE, FF, Chrome, and optimally Safari too, but the last one isn't necessary). User selects an item in a dropdown list. Clicks the Add button. A new entry inside a DIV appears, which consists of a hidden form field, the entry name, and a Del button. When the delete button, I need it to erase that entry (and the associated hidden field) but not the whole block.
