I have one long text field in HTML to feed text as input in my page. the entered text will be shown as output text after some operations.In this context, i need to display few text(say 200 chars) only and i need to provide READMORE link/button which would show me the complete content of that text field. I need to achieve this shortly!
View 2 RepliesI have a list item, where only some of the items are linking to a quote from the client. The quotes are in another list, where each list item has an id corresponding to the client link. I want to show the client quote when you roll over the client anchor link. Currently when I mouseover it's showing nothing.
Here's my HTML

I'm sure there are solution outs there btu I have not been able to find one that does both functions with one click properly and is also easy to implement for people not as familiar with html and javascript. Obviously I am trying to create a show more, show less type link. currently this often shared code works fine to change the current state of the target ID's css.display from none to inline. My end goal is to be able to not only toggle the display of the LONG1 div but to also change the innerhtml of 'short1' from "Show More" to "Show Less".I am still learning about JS so Im really rough around the edges. 1. Kindly notice that when the quiz is loaded,it shows both the questions by default.I want only question 1 to be visible when the quiz loads.What happens presently is that ,both questions are visible even after I click on the link

This is the code i'm using:

Reason is a picklist, I want it to show the alert when option 1 from the picklist is selected and no text is in the Row_Number field.
If any of the other options are selected, I want to make sure the Row_Number field is blank.
As I said, I'm sure this is a very simple thing, but I been working on it for ages, and cannot get it to work, I get the alert every time the Row_Number field is blank.
I have a bar which dropdownbox so transparant, in a way that I could hardly read its text because its overlap my content text and pictures.
But its order superseed the side bar box. I could clearly read its text on the side but hardly read its text on the middle. I am using jquery which I copy from a tutorial video.
What might be the problem? I would like the text could be clearly read in the navigation bar in order word it suppose to be above the content text when I open the navigation drop down box.

I have a form that, during submission to another page, uses the submitted text field data and creates a cookie. But how would I do that with a radio button/checkbox field or pulldown? Just fyi, the code is created using onsubmit() and processes this before the response page.
All demos I see are for self submitting (same page) scripts. Not for those going from form.php to response.php and I cannot use this type of submission and find a value for a NON text field. I need to recognize non text fields since I want to create cookies for all form fields, not just text fields.

I'm trying to tweak a small script to pull some data from an iTunes podcast formatted XML feed. I have an input field where the user will type in their name and a number, and this is then output (in real time) in another 2 input fields as they type them.
I am trying to animate the output text, so when the user types in their name, the letters fadeIn (quickly so it seems like they're flashing in) rather than just appearing.

I looked into using JQuery tabs, but the ul would be too long for a horizontal list. Ultimately, I'm looking to mimic the way this navigation behaves in the way it hides/shows/maintains the content based on the mouseover function. I also looked into using JS to hide/show layers, but it looks like I need something to hide/show divs with HTML content within the normal text flow.
I am pretty new to JS but I've managed to create a function to show and hide a div according to a link's URL, but I am gonna have lots of url's and lots of div's to show and hide, its not a problem to show and hide them, the only trouble is that they stack, if I show div 1, and then press link 2 to show div 2, Div 2 is gonna be below div 1, and what I want is that when I click link 2 to hide div 1 or any other shown divs, I am sure its possible but i don't know how to do it. I think it would be possible by storing the id of the div in a variable, but the only problem is that when I call that function, the variable always changes so it would be a matter of storing the id in a variable outside the function, but i don't know how to do that, or what are the rules?

I need to have the javascript function call in href because of an applet I am using. In resume, the divs are hidden at the start, when I click one link, the div shows, when I click the other link I need the previous div shown to be hidden (class="hide"), and show the new div and so on.

drop_1 is the name of a drop down which when changed runs this script which brings back a second dropdown with data relating to the first one.
I would like to show or hide a header element (e.g. <h3></h3>) based up a div tag that either contains content or not. The content is dynamically added or shown, but the header element isn't, which results in having the header element shown with no content below it many times.
