Jquery :: Parse XML Feed - Tweak My Existing Code To Output The Content Of The First <itunes:subtitle> Entry Under The Link It Generates?

Aug 20, 2011

I'm trying to tweak a small script to pull some data from an iTunes podcast formatted XML feed. Currently, it outputs a link to the most recent actual mp3 file with the episode title as the name (which is great), but I'd also like it to show a description of the episode under the link.Here's the code I have so far:

Code:
jQuery(
function($)
{[code].....

How can I tweak my existing code to output the content of the first <itunes:subtitle> entry under the link it generates?

JQuery :: How To Tweak Pageflip Code

Dec 6, 2011

I'm a flash designer and new to jquery. I've a little experience customizing javascript for html, but for the most part this is new to me (and pretty frustrating, I must say). Glad there's a jquery forum and hopeful that I can get some pointers.

Here's my problem: I am using a terrific bit of jquery code for a custom pageflip effect, however if I put an html link on the same page, it doesn't work. I'm guessing that this has to do with the pageflip code designating the two corners of the "book" to function onClick, however I don't know how to get around this. Here's a link to the code I'm using: [URL]...s there a bit of jquery I can use for a link instead of the traditional HTML tags? Or is there some other way to add a link that won't be interfered with by the pageflip code?

Parse HMTL Before Output

Apr 5, 2010

I have a variable which contains a string of html that I wish to output into a content div on the click of a button.I can toggle the content of the div with the string above, but I wish to include the ability to parse that string before output, so I can translate its language before its output.I can easily do this once the html is output into the content div using the JS HTML DOM, but due to this conversion not being instant I'm looking into ways of translating this text before it is output, so changing the string stored in the variable html.

Jquery :: Load Html Code Into A Div Content - Href Link And Spinner?

Mar 26, 2011

I like to try to do some jquery and spinner then load some html code into a div content. I'm not looking deep into the coding part of jquery yet but here's my question. What will be the a href tag look like?

<a href="http://yourlink" onclick="loadpage();">Products</a>

Do you put the url on href or attr? Can I still put the url on href? The reason I ask it's because seo friendly? Will search engine look into other pages by href? But I guess this way will actually load the whole page in the browser and there's no way I can do ajax stuff in this format? I like to do something nice on my links but don't want to hurt the seo part.

Parse (x)HTML Content From XML (AJAX And DOM)

Dec 20, 2006

I have a script that reads the contents of an XML file. The contents of one of the tags of the XML file contains XHTML(made up of <p> and <a> tags). The code I have to output the content of the XML is as follows:

xmlRoot = xmlResponse.documentElement;

var wrapper = document.getElementById("myDiv");
var bodyText = xmlRoot.getElementsByTagName("bodyText");

for(var i=0; i<bodyText.length; i++)
{
var para = document.createElement("p");
var bodyContent = document.createTextNode(bodyText[i].firstChild.data);

para.appendChild(bodyContent);
wrapper.appendChild(para);
...
}

Now, when I view the page in my browser, I get paragraphs that actually display the HTML code. Is there a way to parse this HTML so that it actually appears with all the links etc, as opposed to just showing the code?

Javascript Code To Hide/display Entry Fields On A Form

Jul 23, 2005

I am looking for a general purpose javascript snippet that enables me to
<div> or <span> HTML to make portions of the form be hidden and then appear.
The form contains about 12 sections and some sections can contain
subsections. When the user clicks on a checkbox, I want previously hidden
text boxes, radio buttons, text, drop down menus, and additional checkboxes
to appear. In some cases, clicking on a checkbox in a section can cause
additional previously hidden text boxes, radio buttons, text, drop down
menus, and additional checkboxes to appear.

Within each section, a list of individual names is displayed with an initial
checkbox beside each name being displayed. Clicking the checkbox beside a
name is what triggers the hidden info to be displayed. The server side
application is written in php and the field names are assigned using
brackets as the array is created. As an example the HTML checkbox beside
the first name <input type='checkbox' name='sect1custname[1]' value'First
Name'> The HTML for the next name woud be exactly the same except the name
field would be defined as name='sect1custname[2]'. All of the other input
buttons, boxes, menus, and text would use the same naming conventions so
that the server side module can correctly process the data.

I am hoping to keep this as generic as possible so that we can add, change,
and/or delete entire sections simply by creating the appropriate HTML and
surrounding it with the correct <div> or <span>. I understand that there
may need to be some javascript wrapped around the checkboxes.

If you know of , or have, or can develop the code, please send particulars
to jscott4272 at comcast dot net. If there are any costs associated with
the code, just let me know what they are. If you have any questions or need
additional information, please email them to me.

JQuery :: Tweak To Tablesorter (filter Table Values)?

Aug 10, 2009

I'm developing a table that'll have dropdown filters above it. However my table has a slight twist in that some columns will have more than one value in them, eg imagine a column with these values:

- UK
- UK
- UK, USA
- UK, Germany
- Germany
- USA

Now when I filter by 'UK' it should show four results - not two. Can anyone give me a few pointers how to do this or point me towards a plugin that might tackle this already? The values will always be comma separated.

Parse Dynamic XML Content Into Html Tables Nicely With 1 Second REFRESH Rate?

Apr 14, 2011

I have been playing with JavaScript few days now. I have a php script that returns data in XML. I want my Dashboard (html) page to show the response back from my php file. Since this is going to be a Dashboard hence it needs to refresh the content every second hence using JavaScript.

I want to get some guides, tutorials, or how-to for this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Here is what I get from my .php file if I do a POST method to it and define variable "extension=9999" to it code...

How can above be nicely presented in an HTML using JavaScript and how would this query be refreshed and re-POSTED every 1 second?

P.S. Amount of XML data coming back to me is dynamic. So, I don't know how much data I get back. Sometime nothing. Sometime 4 childs. Sometime 10 childs in the XML.

Form Entry To Time Part Of Database Date Entry?

Aug 1, 2005

I have a textbox on one of my forms that is used to accept a time from the
user. I need to write this value to a database to trigger an event later on.

What I'd like to know is...

Are there any functions in javascript that can convert different time
formats to a known format (24 hour clock)... 5pm -> 17:00 or 5:00 to 05:00,
etc. ???

Assuming that I get the input into a 24 hour format, how can I create a full
time/date variable with todays date and the users entered time?

Finally, if the entered time is earlier than the current time, how can I
create the above date/time combination using tomorrows date?
