JQuery :: Loop Through JSON With .getJSON And $.each?
Feb 22, 2011
I am trying to get the latitude and longitude from a json structure which i got over this google maps geoencode api (v3) - 2 addresses -> it looks like this....
I have used getSON() successfully before but I am meeting with an issue which I don't seem to get a hold on. The data object returned is not populated correctly by getJSON(). Am I doing something wrong?
I have a java object array. I am using java 1.4. The object has attributes with getters/setters.I tried JSON-simple API to convert the array to string. This outputs error JSON string
I'm trying to parse a Json string received by $.getJSON(). I can receive the string but firebug gives me an "invalid label" error. I think it is because the string is an hash array with a number as first label, but I'm not sure. This is the string:
{"15":{"id":15,"x":0.4589937586135409,"y": 0.8324914620560137,"z":-0.9435707004102728,"rawData":"1256204002860 13 -442866538 18392602 647462767 314 1777206957 -1664784174 "}} and this is the non-working code:
I am trying out $.ajax instead of getJSON for debugging purposes. Because getJSON did not report an error in IE (6,7 or 8) and I am trying to figure out why a jQuery plug-in is not painting my returned images to the screen in IE but is in other browsers. So I tried this. Interestingly enough, it hits the error event in IE but not firefox, safari and the rest and I don't know why (this code works great and renders my data just fine in FireFox and the rest). I know my returned json is valid:
I don't know what else to do to troubleshoot why IE is having so much trouble with the returned JSON or just executing the function(data) using either getJSON OR this. I have set the headers not the cache also in the response. IE refuses to enter my function(data) on the response.
Same result. Firefox and the rest had no issue. IE still exited the $.ajax and my error method kicked in. No rhyme or reason whatsoever and I tried the IE Dev tools... nothing. About the only thing I get is this: Line: 163 Error: System error: -1072896658.Line 163 which is simply the line: function() { alert("An error has occurred. try again."); This has got to be the most f*d up situation I've been in and I need to get this working! I just cannot understand why IE can't parse a getJSON or $.ajax response, that is impossible or else there would be a huge meltdown with jQuery.
I'm trying to assign the values from the JSON data returned when I run this code into an array that's outside the callback function. The data is multidimensional, and I have been able to use this data within the callback function. However I want to use it outside that function. i.e. the jsdata returned in the code below is to be used outside the function
Code: $.getJSON('../fxns/status.php',function(jsdata){ //do some stuff with JSON data or pass to global variable[code]..........
I am calling a program using $.getJSON() inside of a for loop. The problem is that the second callback doesn't wait for the first program to finish before it executes. Is it possible to ensure that the second iteration of the loop doesn't happen until the first one is finished?
$('#dialog-form').dialog({ buttons: { "Import": function() { var ids = $("#itemsGrid").jqGrid('getGridParam','selarrrow');
I have a html file that I want to load, loop through the json data and for each json entry I want to add a new block of the html and insert the json data into the matching div/class of the html. json looks like this:
So for each json entry of name/age, I want to insert that into the html, and then add another row, until all json data has been fetched. After this I want to insert all of this into #box, which is just a divthat should contain that html. Looping like this obviously does not work, since I just keep replacing the same html through the loop.
I'm sure this is a simple matter, but i cant seem to work out how to loop through a multi dimensional JSON object (where the keys are unknown). [code]...
I have the following data structure (shown in code view below) coming back from a query. How can I loop over this and create an <li></li> for each record on the client side?The end result should be :
I am doing a JSON request to get data back from a PHP file. On the return of that data, I am using a for loop to go through the data and post it up using JS. Here is my code:
for (var x = 0; x < data.length; x++) { //create a container for each comment var div = $("<div>").addClass("entry round").appendTo("#characters"); //add author name and comment to container $("<div>").addClass("details").appendTo(div); $("<span>").addClass("main-armory button").appendTo("div.details"); }
Now, what is happening, because there is 10 entries being posted, my JS is looking at the class that is being put together (main-armory button) and making it so that class appends every run through. So, I want one entry for main-armory button and I am getting this:
And then, when it goes down to the next entry, it has 9 spans, and then the next entry has 8 spans, and it continues all the way down. What is going on here that I am missing? I know that I am not clearing a variable properly or something is wrong within my loop.
I have the code below, how could it be modified to loop over and over and reload the xml file each time. Flow would be: load xml, run thruogh code to display each xml node one at a time, when reach last node, start all over, reloading xml file,
I have a JSON structure in API.When I call the API in my code it returns as the same JSON .I have to print this JSON result as table with pagination in Javascript. The table should be dynamic with previous and next buttons and the table should populate the results according to the JSON and each page should have 20 entries and then the remaining entries should go on the next page and I should be able to go back and forth in the table using previous and next respectively.tell me the exact code of how to start with getting JSON from the API and then write the JSON data in the form of dynamic table with pagination.
Trying to upgrade from JQuery 1.4.3 to 1.6.1. My getJSON queries no longer populate my SELECTs. The below code works perfectly in 1.4.3 but unsure what changes I need to make for 1.6.1.
function populateCause() { $.getJSON(urlQueries, {sql:'list_causes'}, function(data) { var select = $('#opencause'); var options = select.attr('options');
[Code]....
The ONLY change I made is sourcing JQuery 1.6.1 instead of 1.4.3. Evidently I need to change the method of parsing the JSON data also.
I am using the getJSON command and using firebug for debugging, if I go to this server i setup with this url: [URL] It returns json data warped with getdata({data}). I have validated the json part using jsonlint, so from firebug's net tab I get a param (callback getdata), header and response, etc. as expected. But if I use jquery's getjson, I get param, and header but the response is empty and function callback doesn't trigger (no alert). (I know that getjson uses OPTIONS instead of GETS and I can see that the request is made on the server and the json should be sent as normal). Here is my code for this section:
<script type="application/javascript"> function getdata(data){ alert(data.name);
The problem I'm facing is as follows. I'm using a JSON call to checksome data before doing a JS redirect to a different page. The redirectworks but it's impossible to get back to the initial page using thebrowser's back button. The initial location is not being stored in thebrowser's history.This is the script simplified. If placed on[URL]browser's back button.
After upgrading to jQuery 1.4.1 from jQuery 1.3.2, my getJSON requests fail.The error given to the ajax error handler, is "Invalid JSON: ..." where "..." is the text of the response.Firebug parses the JSON fine, and can display the JSON data as such in its console, and jQuery didn't have an issue with the same data with version 1.3.2.
The NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI seems to be about cross domain issues but I'm working locally on the actual server so should I be able to access the data? Also why is there an XML parse error when I can see the exact data I want in httpfox's "Content" tab?
I have setup a little example here: [URL] It is JSONP because of cross site policy. The returned JSON is valid, you can check the response in firebug. The callback function is not fired.
Tested with jquery 1.3.2, 1.4.2 and 1.4.4. Same result.
In jQuery 1.4.4 I could load a JSON file from subdomain2.website.com to subdomain1.website.com without any problems. When I upgraded to jQuery 1.5 this didn't work anymore.
Is this a jQuery bug
$.getJSON("http://subdomain2.website.com/resources/data.json", function( data ) { console.log("data"); });
I have this basic code following and its not returning anything at all. Even the alert is not alerting. I have checked and the select is sending the value fine But nothing happens on return. What i am missing?
