Feb 20, 2011
I have few input box, selector and submition button in my form can I use adescription on mouse hover likethis example. The example for the links I tried to dosomemodificationbut unable to do any effect like the example page. So, I want to know can I do like this?
I'm fairly new to jQuery and JavaScript. I've beat around the block a couple times modifying code from here and there, but never written anything myself. Just thought I'd warn you.I'm writing a tidbit of code that is going to be used for a photographer's website. The concept of the site is very simple; I am going to have Drupal generating two lists. The first list is simply photographs, semantically they just come one after another. The second is a list of div tags that contain a description of the photographs. The only way that the imagescorrelatecurrently is their semantic order. The first image should be matched with the first description, the second image with the second description, and so on. I do plan on changing this, but for the time being it is not my main concern.
Because the number of images added to the page might not necessarily be limited, I need to have jQuery pair up the images with the proper description, and then display it on hover—dynamically. My current method requires me to write out each hover functionindividually. This is a problem because, as I have mentioned, the amount of photos on any given page should not be limited.Currently I have the functionality that I want, with the exception of the dynamic creation of functions. You can view what I have managed to do so far athttp://calvintennant.ca/blakeley.me/mock.htm.I have attached a .zip with all the files used to create that mock-up.
I'm a jquery newbie and am trying to use it in a simple web application. This application has a controller servlet that forwards the request to a 'login.jsp' page by default. In the login.jsp page, I used Jquery for the hover effect on the submit button. It works absolutely fine if change the extension of the file to html. If it is changed back to jsp, it the javascript is not working. I see the following error in Firebug console:
Syntax Error [Break on this error] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" " ***Please see the attachments for the login.jsp and login.js files.*** I have the files 'login.jsp', 'login.js', 'jquery-1.3.2.min.js' under the webapps/QT/jsp/ folder.
I have select boxes which allow the user to choose multiple options. Due to the length of the text in some of the options not all of the text appears. I have created a tooltip that appears when the user hovers of one of the options.
The problem comes in IE that it does not seem to recognise the selector $('select option')
This is my HTML <html> <head> <title>Select Tooltip</title> <style type="text/css">
I am trying to implement a div containing an advanced search form drop down on hover and I have everything working (only in FF) except for when I try to add any sort of animation or speed to the '.show' or'.hide' effect. When I try to add speed or seemingly any other effect to the div, the select elements of the search form fires the hover
I have the date picker working grand on an input field, what I need to do is submit the value to two different input fields in two different formats, so a textbox and a hidden field, the textbox has the long format which is what I'm currently using bu tI need the hidden field to have the value like '2011-02-01'.
I have a html form with three input text box. one of the three is disabled by the help of this postmy question on jquery forum.no I want that if any of two of the input box is empty submition button will be disabled if allenteredthen submit button will be enabled.
I get right to the point: I want my form to select the correct radio button and submit by clicking a custom link. This is for a voting system, a simple top list.My setup (psuedo setup really) The "o" is a radio button.1. Cat - Points: 5 - o [Vote]2. Dog - Points: 3 - o [Vote]The goal? User clicks on the [Vote] - link and the correct radio button is selected and the form is submitted.(I´m not going to show the radio button later, just there to clear things out right know). So I wrote this little neat piece of code:
(.views-field nothing span => My [Vote]-link) (function($) { $(function() {
I need to click on input type submit with jquery. The input has id and I used $("#....").click(), but nothing happened. Is there a way to click on this button like user would?
I have a text (sentence) in a textbox. How do I select a word under the mouse pointer/cursor? That textarea may not have focus in it. My plan is to find the index of the cursor position on the textarea. then go left and right from that index. Stop on getting space on both side. Find both the indexes and select that range. But I am not able to do it. I am stuck in the first step.
I have a select list that is populated from a mysql DB with 3 names in it. I've created buttons to allow my users to move the names up or down inside the select list.
I'd like to put a save button at the bottom of the form that when clicked, runs a jquery function to read each value of the list and put them into a hidden tag or something that gets submitted to my next form.
I've been trying different combo's of items I've found on the internet, but nothing seems to work for my application.
I have considered updating the table everytime an item is moved, but I just dont have the jquery/javascript experience to pull it off.
I'm probably not writing this the proper way, but I have code that almost works. $("#submit_button").click(function(){ $(".product").each(function(){ if ($(this).val() == '' ) { $("#product_failed").css("display", "inline"); $("#myForm").submit(function(){ return false; });//end submit false }else{ $("#product_failed").css("display", "none"); $("#myForm").submit(); };//end if });//end .product each function });//end submit button click The error message shows and hides properly based on whether the select menu value is "" or not, but if the value is not "" the form doesn't submit.
to remove the mask on submit?m not sure how the mask works but im guessing that it will submit the masked format as valuesalong with the manually input stuff. Can anyone shed some light?##simple terms##How do i only submit the value without the mask?
using jQuery, how to validate a required input text before submitting or placing the cursor in another field? I've tried this below but it doesn't work.
I'll try and keep this as short as possible (honest), scenario is this... I have a "price comparison" website which looks for deals via a php? query string url and returns the results as an Iframe inserted into a static "show" template page. Unfortunately that gives me 1000+ pages with duplicate title and meta descriptions...
What I'm trying to do is grab (server-side, from returned iframe content) a certain element of text (e.g. first (b)text to change/insert title and use the same text to insert in front of my description (i.e. description="grabbed text" blah blah blah
I know basic html and css etc and have started reading up on Jquery, but thats it... I'm not a programmer, so having asked question on a couple of forums and "googled" relevant topics, I've only got confusing info... most pointing towards Jquery, ajax etc. Thing is everyone goes "tech-speak" on me, might as well be martian...
I am building a site to replicate an existing site for a non-profit.[URL] want to have a rotating image on their home page, and I have it working using the following jQuery Code:
The problem is that I can't figure out how to clear the previous slide's decription (in the <p> tag of each Div). At present the descriptions do rotate, but they are all visible since they are within the stacked Div's. How can I get the descriptions to show and hide in sync with the images?
I'm trying to create tooltips for a Drupal form that was built with the Form API. I'm able to show and hide all of the description fields on the form using the following method
