I get right to the point: I want my form to select the correct radio button and submit by clicking a custom link. I am new to jquery and I need to make a form that allows a user to select a state and a city that they go to school in. I am using the cascade juqery plug-in [url].

I've seen a variety of implementations around that enable selecting all or no checkboxes by using a checkbox to toggle that choice. However, I'm trying to find a way like this: I have two text links on my page: Select All, and Select None. How can I get those links to call a jquery function to select all or select no checkboxes in my form? As a little food for thought:

I have a php function that list all of the countries from my database as a select option, then based on what the user selects for their country im using jquery to make an ajax call and get all of the states/regions for that country. This part works fine. I'm running into an issues, as when a user login's in to edit their profile, how would I make the select change based on what is in the databse.

In the following .submit function, I am attempting to grab the value of the selected option in the facilityCodes dropdown list when I click the submit button and then during the submit function,select the facilityCode again in the dropdown list when the page reloads and then disable the list so that the user cannot change it.However,the situation is when I reload the page after the submit button is clicked the dropdown defaults to the first option and the list is enabled.I apparently am not understanding how.submit works so that I'm selecting the option I'm defining in my code below and then disabling the list AFTER the page reloads due to an error on the page. I'm using mailchimps signup box (they don't have a decent forum to ask on) on my website and want to adjust the submit button and change it to a normal link. Here's the button that submit's the form:

Is using the real form submit button a problem in any way? Can it actaully send a form when a person uses 'enter' in a text field. When I use this submit, it triggers my validation which is great.

However this way doesn't seem to trigger my validation although It may solve the above form send problem (if that realy exists). How do I get it to act the same as real submit so it will trigger validation like onsubmit above?
I have a page with many forms that I need to change from a post to an ajax call. That part is working, no problem, but now I want to disable the submit button while it's waiting on the server response and then re-enable it when the response comes back.
I can't figure out what my selector should be to get the submit button of the form that's being submitted. What should I be using instead? Also, if the call errors out, I'd like to just post the form as usual.

the first problem is that my menu must be named "id[2]2" which causes a problem due to the bracketed 2 and the 2 after. Is there any way around that?the second problem I forsee is that this will only work with 1 drop down box being unselected. I need a code that will give the warning if nothing is selected OR if something is selected in both drop downs.
I have a requirement that when a particular link is clicked, it submits back to the server. This is the same as clicking on a submit button. But the submit button is a link.
If I select "Other", a text box pops up and I can type in something and hit Add Item and it will add it to the drop down box, but the selection will stay at "Other". How do I make it select the item I just added?
