Apr 1, 2010I´m trying to select all input button elements with class="button" in a page in order to change their css class. Looking through some examples I managed to come up with the code below, which works perfectly in Firefox 3.6, but for some reason seem to not work on IE7.

JQuery :: Show Input Box Based On Select Value?
Apr 14, 2011It shows an input field when the select value is "dropped". The problem I am having is that if I select "dropped" it will display the input field, but if i select a different value AFTER selecting "dropped" the input field is sill displaying. How would I get it to hide the input field if it is NOT selected?

SELECT With INPUT Field And Then Another Select?
Sep 29, 2011been lurking around to see if I could find any kind of solution to what I'm trying to solve, but the closest thing I got was this old thread:What I wantI'm trying to create is a SELECT menu with an INPUT field, but the INPUT field won't display before I select an option from the list. After I've selected an option I want two things to happen; the INPUT field displays and a new SELECT menu shows up with some other options.Then in the last menu, where I create the options of course, theres a final option that finalizes the entire SELECT menu and gives them a button to submit it, and when they press it, all the options will just be printed along with what the user typed in the INPUT fields.
The problemI have no idea how to automatically show the next SELECT menu, which I've created, but hidden, for the user with it's own text field, and then in the end make it possible to submit it to print all the selected options and whats typed in the INPUT fields.I'm guessing I need some sort of jQuery/JavaScript, but I'm not very familiar with that

Sep 23, 2010I have a form that has a bunch of text inputs, and I would like to select all that don't already have a class "errorClass" assigned to them. My JQuery currently is:
$('input[type="text"]').addClass("idleField");
But that adds the class "idleField" to ALL text fields, overriding the ones that already had the class "errorClass" assigned to it. What is the proper syntax to add the "idleField" class to all text inputs that don't have the "errorClass" assigned?

Eg if the user selects "People" the hint text will read "eg. John Smith", if they pick "Year" the hint text will read "1985".

After an option is chosen from the first drop down <select></select> element, options of the 2nd drop down <select></select> element will show up. Selection of an option from the 2nd drop down list will get the options in the 3rd dropdown list show up. Thus input from the 3rd drop down list will show up the options in the 4th drop down list. Such is the case for the 4th, 5th ,... drop down list.
Each time depending on the inputs from the previous drop down lists , the values for the immediately later drop down list will be retrieved from the database. i.e options for the nth drop down list to be retrieved from the database will depend on the selected the values from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, .....(n-1)th drop down list.

The goal I am trying to accomplish is to set the focus to say the 10th input. If the "show more inputs" link is clicked then the focus should go to the next 10th input (really input ID number 20) and so on.
