I am trying to find and get the current index in a group of elements like so:
var index = $(attribute).index(this);
However, this returns -1 for all selectors I pass to it in the variable. Why is this? Is there another way to find a div's position within its container easily?
is it possible to access the index of the json data array in the current iteration and use it in a template?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a nav bar for this site - [URL].. I'm using javascript to handle the image rollover which is working just fine. However I want to add to this so that the current page will stay with the second or rollover image. I have a spry accordion that I have inserted in Dreamweaver with 5 tabs for Monday-Friday.
How could I make the tab active depending on what day it is?
i.e: So if its Tuesday the Tuesday tab will be active.
<div id="TabbedPanels1" class="TabbedPanels">
<ul class="TabbedPanelsTabGroup">
<li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Monday</li>
<li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Tuesday</li>
<li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Wednesday</li>
<li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Thursday</li>
<li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Friday</li>
</ul>
I've created a nav bar for this site - [URL] - I'm using javascript to handle the image rollover which is working just fine. However I want to add to this so that the current page will stay with the second or rollover image. Do I edit or add to my code so it keeps the second image active if it is the active page?
In my script file this is what I'm using for an image:
menu1buttonup = new Image();
menu1buttonup.src = "[URL]" ;
menu1buttondown = new Image() ;
menu1buttondown.src = "[URL]" ;
Followed by....
function buttondown( buttonname ){
if (document.images) {
document[ buttonname ].src = eval( buttonname + "down.src" );
}} function buttonup ( buttonname ){
if (document.images) {
document[ buttonname ].src = eval( buttonname + "up.src" );
}}
And this is what my list items look like:
<a href="<?php echo home_url(); ?>/?page_id=7" onmouseover="buttondown('menu1button')"
onmouseout="buttonup('menu1button')"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/images/menu1.jpg" name="menu1button" /></a>
It was originally an imaged based menu, but they wanted it all changed to css/html. I used quickmenu and it used JS to produce the arrows at the top of each menu item.I'm trying to program the menu items to stay active when on the current page. At first, it looks correct, but if you hover back over the menu, it changes back to the inactive state.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan I use script to remove the 2nd and 3rd table row elements from this html?
Code:
<table id="dap_product_links_table">

<td><span class="scriptheader">Product Title</span></td>[code].....
Jquery 1.52, IE7,IE8,FireFox4.0. I really confused for this:
HTML as follows:
<table><tr><td> </td></tr></table>
javascript as follows:
$("table tr").append("<td>> </td>");
$("table td").mouseover(function)({
alert($(this).index());
});
When mouseover the first "td", it OK, but mouseover the newly added "td", nothing happened.
This is my table structure, I want to find out the index of the tr which first td is empty, in this case, the index should be 1, how to pick it out?
<table width="100%" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

I have been using JQuery in the past 6 months and I really got in love with it!Finally,I've come to an issue that (probably) have better solution than the one Im trying to do with.I have multiple tables in a HTML [code]all of these tables are some kind of gridviews filled with data using JSon and JQuery.The problem is:Before filling with data, only this part in the DOM is created <table id="myTableId"> <tbody> !so, before going forward with filling the table with data and creating <tr>'s and <td>'s, I would like to find the current (not filled one) table ID.The algorithm would be:
1. <table id="mytableId"> is generated
2. right after #1, find table ID.
3. Depending of the table ID, generated data accordingly. (Continue with creating tr's and td's)
I have tried using closest('table'), also using find(), parent(), parents() and some other methods with which I've been working previously, but still no success.I can find the table by uing var tId = $(TABLE['id*='myTable']").attr('id');, but this finds all tables with 'myTable' and I want to find only the one that is created at that moment and waits for filling with data.
I am trying to get the index of a li with a specific class. I know I'm selecting the right object because I can apply a CSS class to it (eg change border colour) but when I try to get the index it returns -1. But I know the object exists as I can alter it. :-s
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
var active = $("#tertiarynavigation .bordered").get(0);
var num = $("#tertiarynavigation li").index(active);
alert("Index: " + num);

I think this is just a dumb question, I'm missing some basic logic here about jquery "grammar".
I'm trying to do an image swap on hover that checks to be sure the thumbnail is not the active thumbnail. So mouseover, it swaps. Mouseout, swaps back, unless the thumb has been clicked.
Here's a snippet of the code that doesn't work:
How do I check that _li is not ".active" and replace the src if it isn't?
I have the below array called "results". When I loop through all document elements I would like to check "field_name" against the "results" array and see if it exists and what index number it is at??
// Split the comma delimited response into an array
results = result.split("~");
//Loop through array and populate fields[code].....
I have a problem with layers. In my example there's a link inside div#msg with 'z-index:1' and a overlay with 'z-index:2'. Now when "mousedown" fires, will change the div#msg z-index value from 1 to 3 to be on Top, so the link become a clickable link.
The question is, it is possible to make the link on top and open it with just one click?
This example can do that but won't open the link!
HTML Code:
I'm trying to create two bookmarklets:
1. Take the current URL of the page and open a new window with a URL based on the current page. Some examples (I use "->" to mean "this URL turns into that URL"):I plan to use these bookmarklets in sequence, first pressing 1 to log into the CMS, then pressing 2 to edit the current page.
adding a class to an active li. I'm working in drupal, and the system adds a .active class to the DOM of whatever li class was last selected.In my .js file I added the following:
$('document').ready(function(){
var tabActive = $('#tabs-tabset ul.primary li.active a');
tabActive.addClass('tabknotch')
});
This works perfectly...for the first tab. when I navigate to the next tab the class does not change. I thought maybe there's a variable in the dom that is causing the class to not move, so I tried narrowing the div that it looks for and tried this:
$('document').ready(function(){
var tabActive = $('li.active a');
tabActive.addClass('tabknotch')
});
This achieved the exact same results...so there's obviously something I'm missing, but don't know what it is. If it's any help, here are two examples of the generated DOM that occurs when clicking on the active li. The first example is the div that has the class added, and the second is a div that does not have anything added. <li class="overview ui-tabs-selected active first tabknotch"><a href="#overview"><span class="tab">Overview</span></a></li> (this is the active tab where the jQuery succesfully adds the "tabknotch" class)<li class="features ui-tabs-selected active"><a href="#features"><span class="tab">Features</span></a></li> (this is the active tab that does not have the class added when clicked. When this li is active knotchtab remains on the other li that no longer has the .active class attributed)
I have a single page website and I would like to add an .active class to my links when I reach a certain point on the page (this will be done by unique div or section id's). The classes are currently empty, so I would need to be able to remove and replace the .active class accordingly.
Here is my html:

I am using jquery accordion where multiple accordions can be opened by user. I added onclick event to that adds source to an iframe within that accordion when user clicks on it. However I want to only load the source into the iframe when an accordion is opened...currently I load the source into the iframe even if they close the accordion.Example:<div id="toggleboxes" nclick="loadIFrame('iframe${iframe}','${mstrObject.firstChild.objectUrl}');">How can I determine if the onclick event on the above div is for open accordion action only?The code below returns object object. I am quite new to jquery and have been scratching my head for a bit regarding this. Does anyone know how to achieve this?I tried the following:var active = $( ".selector" ).accordion( "option", "active");Here is my loadIFrame function.
function loadIFrame(iframeId, reportUrl){

var isActive = $( ".selector" ).accordion( "option", "active");

I've this CSS to style my links in my menu:
.menu a:link, .menu a:active, .menu a:visited{
color: #ffffff;
text-decoration: none;
}
I would like to find the a-tag (<a>) which is active. I've tried something like: $('.menu a:active'). How can I find that element?
[code]I've got a long navigation, and pages slide in and out of view.Troubles are, if the user impaitently clicks a load of links while the page loading and sliding in is happening, it melts my (probably poorly written) code.So, I'm trying to stop the user from clicking on any other buttons,while the page loader is doing it's thing.

So basically I have this menu, the only problem I have is that I would like the colour of the text depending on which the 'LavaLamp' Image is when loading up to be red. For example when loading up this website (my url to the menu) [URL] I would like the text 'Home' to show red, since it is the active tab on page load.
