JQuery :: Making A Button In Active
May 27, 2009
[code]I've got a long navigation, and pages slide in and out of view.Troubles are, if the user impaitently clicks a load of links while the page loading and sliding in is happening, it melts my (probably poorly written) code.So, I'm trying to stop the user from clicking on any other buttons,while the page loader is doing it's thing.

I am using a basic jQuery accordion and what I am trying to do is add a button inside each section where if the user clicks the button, it will collapse the section, leaving all the sections closed. I just don't know how to get the button to close that section.
See below for example of what I am doing.
<div class="accordion">
<h3><a href="#">Header One</a>
<div>
<asp:button runat="server" class="cancelButton" text="cancel" />

I have a DIV overlay that I want to show as open only on certain pages but not on others (it is on all pages). The button that is related to the DIV must also display as on when the DIV overlay is open and in the off state when it is closed. This must happen on page load.
E.g. DIV open, button on.
DIV closed, button off.
I have the click show and activation working so all I need is it to display as open and on, on certain pages and then on others closed and off.

I'm wanting to have a button on a web page where if I click on that button it changes colour. Basically I have 3 images of leds being on, a green a yellow and a red. Depending on the state the normal running state would be green and if there was a problem I could make it yellow and if it was off make it red.
Rather than having 3 different buttons, I want to have 1 that can change when clicked and just cycle through the 3 colours.

this is my first visit here so I would like to introduce myself.I`m Krystian :)I`m a newbie in Ajax, jQuery.
I've created a php file which contains form ( form.php ). This file is inserted after button click in index.php. In index.php I`m including jQuery library. My problem is that: when I`m trying the code below, just for test. This is not working. JS console doesn`t show any errors. Why such a simple code is not visible with form? When this example will work then I would like to code something much more difficult on this form. Best Regards Krystian. p.s. When I`ve created form directly in index.php alert occurs.$("select#numberPers").change(function(){ alert('you have changed the select option field');

I have a scrollbar that I programmed. It is just like a scrollbar in a browser - click on the scroller and while holding the left mouse button you drag the scroller to move the window.
These are the issues I am having: if the target I use to be the scroller draggable target is an image, the image when clicked and dragged will be dragged as if I was trying to pull the image onto my desktop to be copied.
- if the target I use to be the scroller draggable target is text within a div, then sometimes it will select the text as if I was selecting to copy/paste
- sometimes while dragging the div as a scrollbar, the speed of my mouse will 'beat' the REPEATED CLICK speed (and it is set very fast) and I will "DROP" the scroller.
- Also when dropping the scroller, the page will select EVERYTHING as if I am trying to select all of the content in the page (SELECT ALL) and everything turns blue.

I have an active Submit button that posts to a Shopping cart. I'm trying to achieve a 500px by 500px popup window when they click the "BUY" button, but also allows them to proceed to the shopping cart to check out. I tried one option, and the popup showed up, but it failed to proceed to the cart. Does anyone have any ideas? Here is the code for the button, feel free to add to it and change anything necessary. I'm making a prototype On Screen Application, Its very basic so i'm trying to add some nice touches. Its for a university project.
This application is more like a web page at this stage and will be running in a web browser with the user using a mouse as imput instead of their finger.
I want to add Back and Forward buttons in to the navigation area, there is no problem there that was pretty easy but, I'd like the forward button to show a different image (an inactive state, maybe greyed out) when the user gets to a page they havn't been to before then make it active when they go back a page.

I have a page with three items that I want the user to agree to (a beta signup agreement).I want them to have to check off all three boxes before the "continue" button becomes active. I've searched and searched and found a few tutorials, but they only seem to get me halfway and then drop me off a cliff.I don't need this to be a submit form or anything, just click the three boxes and then you can hit the "continue" button.

I have a graphic with a rollover for site navigation on each page. I
put the page to go back to in the rollover javascript.
My question is, is it possible to put in some code that will refer the
visitor back to whatever page they came from rather than one I
specify?
The rollover is combined with a tooltip script to make matters fun
(below). However, I'm quite happy to lose the tooltip to have the link
perform as a back button.
<a href="../index.asp"
onmouseover="document.images['link1'].src=img2.src;
showtip(this,event,'Back to home page');"
onmouseout="document.images['link1'].src=img1.src; hidetip()";><img
src="bhome.gif" name="link1" border=0></a>

When a button is clicked, the button then disables (as well as running its normal function).Obviously I'm used to using this.disabled=true but in this instance I cannot access the onClick in the <input> tag because the page is hard coded by a third party application.So I'm trying to make a function which locates the button, notices if it's been clicked and disables it on click. Seems easy to me! However I cannot make it work!Here are the two variations I've tried (both call the function in the page onLoad):
function disableButton() {
document.getElementById('submit').onclick=document.getElementById('submit').disabled=true;
}

I need to know how to use Javascript to test if any one of a series of radio buttons has been checked. There's a catch, though: The radio buttons and their values are dynamically generated out of a database, so there's no way of knowing ahead of time how many radio buttons there will be or what the value associated with each button will be. Thus, I can't simply test the value of each button separately, nor can I use an array unless I can figure out how to count how many options there are when the page is dynamically generated. It seems like there should be any easy way!

I think this is just a dumb question, I'm missing some basic logic here about jquery "grammar".
I'm trying to do an image swap on hover that checks to be sure the thumbnail is not the active thumbnail. So mouseover, it swaps. Mouseout, swaps back, unless the thumb has been clicked.
Here's a snippet of the code that doesn't work:
How do I check that _li is not ".active" and replace the src if it isn't?

I'm working on a simple website in which I'm required to use two types of forms input on a webpage. I have decided to make a simple quiz which will be designed.Is this possible in a simple way? Sounds quite straight-forward.Is it possible to design a radio button which, depending on the choice, the related-text will appear underneath on the same page? So if they select 'A' then paragraph 'A' will show, if they select 'C' then paragraph 'C' will appear (with the rest hiding)..

adding a class to an active li. I'm working in drupal, and the system adds a .active class to the DOM of whatever li class was last selected.In my .js file I added the following:
$('document').ready(function(){
var tabActive = $('#tabs-tabset ul.primary li.active a');
tabActive.addClass('tabknotch')
});
This works perfectly...for the first tab. when I navigate to the next tab the class does not change. I thought maybe there's a variable in the dom that is causing the class to not move, so I tried narrowing the div that it looks for and tried this:
$('document').ready(function(){
var tabActive = $('li.active a');
tabActive.addClass('tabknotch')
});
This achieved the exact same results...so there's obviously something I'm missing, but don't know what it is. If it's any help, here are two examples of the generated DOM that occurs when clicking on the active li. The first example is the div that has the class added, and the second is a div that does not have anything added. <li class="overview ui-tabs-selected active first tabknotch"><a href="#overview"><span class="tab">Overview</span></a></li> (this is the active tab where the jQuery succesfully adds the "tabknotch" class)<li class="features ui-tabs-selected active"><a href="#features"><span class="tab">Features</span></a></li> (this is the active tab that does not have the class added when clicked. When this li is active knotchtab remains on the other li that no longer has the .active class attributed)

I am using jquery accordion where multiple accordions can be opened by user. I added onclick event to that adds source to an iframe within that accordion when user clicks on it. However I want to only load the source into the iframe when an accordion is opened...currently I load the source into the iframe even if they close the accordion.Example:<div id="toggleboxes" nclick="loadIFrame('iframe${iframe}','${mstrObject.firstChild.objectUrl}');">How can I determine if the onclick event on the above div is for open accordion action only?The code below returns object object.
