JQuery :: Cycle Plugin Pager Not Working In FF And Safari?
Jun 30, 2009
I am having an odd error where the pager generates links but they don't change the slide in FF and Safari. The biggest surprise of all is that it actually works in IE. Here is the page I am referring to: http://126.96.36.199/
I have a href tag in my pager. When I click on it the slide changes to the ppropriate pager but the I don't get sent to the link even though allowPagerClickBubble is set to true. This works fine when pagerEvent is 'moveover' (as in the exaple posted here) ie. I get sent to the linked page. But it does not work when pagerEvent is the default 'click.cycle'.
I have re-styled the tabs of the pager with css so its not orange anymore. Instead the active and the inactive tabs have a background image. What I need to do now is remove the numbers, but I do not know how to. Can someone please tell me how to do so?
Can anyone recommend a way to add a nice scrolling effect to the pager nav? I am using the imagethumbnails example as shown, but if the number of thumbnails exceeds the width of my div, I would like them to nicely scroll into and out of view as the slideshow continues. Perhaps in conjuction with another jQuery plugin?
I'm using the cycle plugin to create a slideshow of highlights. So far I have the slides automatically fading between each other but I'd also like to have thumbnails that when hovered jumps the slideshow to the associated slide. Using pager and pagerEvent I can do this but I don't know how to use my own thumbnails for the pager.
I've got two sections of my page that I want to remain in sync as they cycle. I think I'm 95% of the way there, but I just can't quite get it to work. The #slideshow cycle works perfectly, as does the pager, but the #descriptions cycle behaves oddly. It hasn't been completely consistent, but usually it'll cycle after the 2nd slide, then never cycle again. This is the case whether or not I click the pager to #2 then back to #1 or if I just let it cycle.
Is it possible to use enable different transition effects for auto- advance versus the pager (that is, when a user clicks a pager item)? I'd like very much to use "fade" as images auto-advance without user input, but use a more advanced easing effect if the user clicks an item in the pager.
I have been running the cycle plugin with success for a while, using 3 images, a caption, and a pager area (simple dots). I just added a fourth image/caption. the pager picks up the fourth image, adding a dot. However, it now fades in on transition, then immediately out. no other code changed other than the addition of a fourth image. why this is now malfunctioning?
I have the cycle plugin running, works fine on all but IE7 (not catering to IE6). The pager elements on the right do not appear in IE7. I have tried adjusting the z-index, etc., but can't figure it out.
Also, the caption text transitions in with bolded elements properly appearing, and then they flip to regular text (the whole line of text transitions a bit strangely).
I am using the Cycle plugin in several slide implementations on my website here:
I have recently upgraded the Safari browser on my desktop (Apple Mac Mini running OS X 10.5.8) to Safari 5.0.6 and noticed that the Cycle plugin completely breaks in this version of the browser. My laptop, a Powerbook running OS X 10.4.11, has Safari 4.1.3 installed and the Cycle plugin works absolutely perfect in this version.
I have upgraded the linked JQuery library to version 1.7 as hosted on the JQuery web server [URL] and have even gone as far as downloading the Cycle Lite .js file and hosting it on my own server. None of this solves the plugin breaking in Safari 5.0.6; seeing as I have no issues using the plugin in Safari 4.1.3, I am assuming that this is an issue with the Cycle code as it is being called in Safari 5.0.6
I've used this plugin before and it worked just fine on all browsers. But on this assignment, it does not work on Safari. [URL] I am trying to get the banners at the bottom to animate. I don't understand why its not working
I am currently developing a site for a client which uses the JQuery cycle plugin to move through a number of divs which contain pictures and info about wedding dresses. All works fine in Firefox, but when I test in IE6 + IE7 the divs are all stacked on top of each other vertically and they soan right down the screen for 1000's of pixels. To me it seems like this is a problem with absolute/relative positioning or the z-index, I have also used a few floats in the child divs. I am also using SIFR for text replacement, could this be conflicting? Here is my code, can anyone see a problem that would cause my cycle not to work in IE.?

I am trying to add a reflection to an image inside of a cycle slide show. reflection works fine until I add the slide show. The background of the reflection is white. I tried setting the background for the element to none !important but it didn't do the trick.
Problem: The captions do not effectively cycle. What appears is the first caption from php the_excerpt but it does not change to the next php the_excerpt text. Can I solve this problem so I get the text from php the_excerpt to correspond to each image??
The problem is that it stop working of Firefox after about two hours. I used it on the main page and leave it working and afterabouttwo hours the picture stop moving and there is only one pictureshown.
It works when its on its own page but when I place the code in a hidden div that becomes visible on click, it doesnt work. What do I do to get the cycle plugin working when 1 of the hidden div is visible?
Am currently trying to achieve a image cycle with a pager. I have achieved this so far but will try and list what I would like to aim for below:-- I have four images which rotate using cycle- I have pager 1-4 generated- I want each pagination to have a unique image that defines it as a button- Active background triggers a image change on the pager (this image just highlights which image is showing)I hope that helps explain what I have so far - if not ill try and answer your questions as best I can. This is also what I've pulled together so far
I am working on a project using the (brilliant) cycle plugin, here's the scenario: (apologies in advance for bad terminology that may be used) I have a pager using thumbnail images, the slides contain text, at the moment cycle automatically cycles through the slides. I want each pager thumbnail that corresponds to it's respective slide to grow when active using the hoverpulse plugin
Right, here goes: I'm using a modified "jQuery Cycle Plugin - 'goto' Demo 2 (aka: Poor Man's pager)" implementation of the Cycle plugin, this works fine in FF2+, Op9, Saf3+ and Chrome2 but in IE cycle stops the background- image from repeating! As usual I cannot give out a public link due to NDA but I can give you these two image locations to see the differences: [URL]
