JQuery :: Use To Track Visitors Mouse Movements And Clicks And Then Playback?

May 15, 2009

Use jquery to track visitors mouse movements and clicks and then playback. Here is the proof of concept:Uses: jQuery and php. jquery records mouse moves and clicks, sends data via ajax to a php page, the php page writes the mouse events to a text file.When you go to the playback page, jquery connects to a php page that reads the text file and moves the mouse accordingly

Track User's Actions (mouse Clicks) Inside Frames (or Another Means)?

May 27, 2009

I am building a website that offers cash to users for completing offers. Such as signing up on a site and you get $1. I have very little javascript knowledge. But I do know that it can be used to "listen" for mouse clicks and such. So I am wondering how to go about it. Can I somehow, listen for mouseclicks a user makes, tracking what they clicked on, when they clicked on it, etc. inside a iframe, then pass the values thru php into my DB? I have also just started learning about cookies too, The other 'offer' sites I am a member of, and I would like to duplicate, (ex. www.inboxdollars.com) say sit uses cookies to track user actions for verifications.

How Does Mcafee Track Visitors With Cookies

Apr 20, 2009

I'm running a test on my site for the mcafee secure logo, such that the mcafee logo will be shown to some visitors, and we track conversion rates with and without the logo. Naturally, mcafee have to keep track of the user vir the whole session, through to any 'thank you for buying' page. The code you place on the site is just an image, which includes in the url a reference to your domain.

The tech guy I spoke to suggested that the tracking happens via a cookie. But can this be done, when no script has been called from their server? The headers returned with the image show Content-Type: image/gif.

So basically I'm asking can cookies be set this way? If not then all I can see is that they're tracking urls only, which will be far from reliable.

Setting Some Cookies To Track Visitors To My Site ?

Apr 10, 2010

I have setting some cookies to track visitors to my site. I have my pages in folder music and in sub folders. I can access my site by typing: [url] So the domain will be: [url] and the path: /sara/music/

But the broblem is that other cookies are attached to my cookieby going to [url] or any link in it.

Is the problem from setting the path? If not how can I filter my cookie so i can just display my cookies only, I use one function to display all the cookies.

Visitors To Hear An Mp3 Audio Once They Hover Their Mouse On Each Image?

Jan 23, 2011

I have a page with 3 images. I want my visitors to hear an mp3 audio once they hover their mouse on each image.

image1 = audio1.mp3
image2 = audio2.mp3
image3 = audio3.mp3

But here are the challenges.

1- I want the audio files to play on the same page where the images are, without opening a new page.
2- I don't want the users to be asked to accept any kind of plugins (such as Windows Media Player). Which means everything needed to run the script should already exist on that page.
3- I want it to be played on the 3 major browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome)

Is this possible? I'm not good at Javascript, but I will understand to do my best to understand your instructions. I spent a long time looking online, but most of what I found is only compatible in one browser or the other.

JQuery :: Mouse Clicks Propagating Up The DOM?

Jan 4, 2012

I came across some simple jQuery that does a nice job styling checkboxes but it's doing things that I wouldn't expect to work. The idea behind the code is to set the original checkbox element to display:none and then follow the checkbox element with a <label> element that has a background image of what you want the new checkbox to look like. jQuery assigns a change handler to the checkbox elements that looks at the current state and adds a new class to the label, one with a "checked" background image, if the state is going to checked and removes this class if the state is going to unchecked. The basic jQuery is:

$(document).ready(function(){
$("#member_cb").change(function(){
if($(this).is(":checked")){

[code]....

and the HTML is

<input type='checkbox' id='member_cb' class='CheckBoxClass' name='memberChecked' value='yes'/>
<label id='Label2' for='member_cb' class='CheckBoxLabelClass2' >Membership</label>

You can see it work on the pay form at [URL] by clicking any of the three checkboxes there. The thing that puzzles me is that when you click in the area where the original checkbox was, the click event seems to pass through the image that is there now and be passed on to the checkbox element that has a display:none style now. My experience with HTML has been that mouse clicks don't pass through elements. That is, if you place something over a clickable element, you can no longer click it.

Track Mouse Coordinates Outside Window

Dec 17, 2006

How can I track the mouse coordinates outside the active window? No
one can tell me its not possible because Google Spreadsheets and
EditGrid both do it. When you drag down to select cells these
spreadsheet programs are capable of properly selecting the cells based
on where the mouse is, even though the mouse is way outside the
browser. I haven't been able to find any info on it or figure it out
myself. How is this possible?

Movie Playback / Div Formatting Of Chosen Fortune Not Working

Jun 5, 2009

I am a newbie to Javascript and am a little overwhelmed. I am trying to make a website where one clicks on a button, starting a .flv movie of someone breaking open a fortune and holding the fortune up to the camera and randomly chosen sentences sent by Javascript appearing over the white piece of paper. So far it does jack except for show a button and the movie without playing. When the button is pressed, nothing happens.

<html>
<head><title>Fortune Cookie</title>
<style type="text/css">
body {
background-color: white;
color: black;
text-align: center;
font-size: 17px;
}

#center_wrapper {
margin-right: auto;
margin-left:auto;
width: 720px;
}

#center_wrapper2 {
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;
width: 350px;
display: block;
}

#pos_fortune {
position: absolute;
top: 280px;
z-index:1;
width: 350px;

</style>
</head>
<body style="text-align: center">
<div id="center_wrapper">
<img src="fortune_title.gif" style="position: relative; top: 10px" /> .....

The div formatting of the chosen fortune doesn't work. I also need to use something besides document.write() since it clears the page when it shows the text. I am not sure how to make the movie play using Javascript. I was half guessing based on some stuff I read on the web, and it doesn't work. Also, is there a way to get rid of the Flash play and stop, etc., buttons or tie them to Javascript?

JQuery :: Multidimensional Properties - Keep Track Of Users Order

Dec 8, 2011

I'm kind of new to learning javascript so please consider the following code:
orderUser = {
products: [ 'Beer', 'Soda', 'Wine' ],
users: [],
regUser:function(){
varnew_user_id = 12;//normally this wouldn't be a static number ofcourse
orderUser.users[orderUser.users.length] = new_user_id;
}}

There's an object that has some properties and a method. The method registers an user id to the users property. What I'd like to do next is keep track of what users have ordered. Is this possible with (multidimensional?) properties? Something like
userProducts[ 12 ] = [ 1, 0 ] //Soda, Beer
doesn't work. Would there be no other way than arrays?

Jquery :: Google Analytics Track Form Submissions

Jun 9, 2009

I have a form that captures users email addresses when they sign up for a enewsletter. I want to add this form submission into my google analytics and from what I have read the best way to do this is by tracking an event? I have added some jquery that I mashed together and I just want to know will this work? I added it today and I can only find out if it has truely worked by waiting 24 hours. I downloaded a program called fiddler (recommended in dot net magazine) to see tracking requests in action instead of waiting 24 hours but I can't see any of the field names displaying like AMF signup?

<script type="text/javascript">
try {
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-8736163-1");
pageTracker._trackPageview();
} catch(err) {}$(document).ready(function() {
$("#pre-book").attr("onSubmit", "pageTracker._trackEvent('Signup Forms','AMF Signup','Newsletter',2.0);");
});

Redirect ALL Visitors Always To Index.html?

I am just starting to understand JAVA Script a little bit to the point where I am able to modify scripts. Thing is now I can't find anything similar to what I need to modify

I have a page which can be found in google which is nice. But people can find a lot of sub-pages as well which is nice from a PR point of view. Nevertheless I don't want people to jump in the middle. I want them all to start on index.hmtl and nowhere else. So is it possible to have all visitors who click on a search result for example in google to be redirected to index.html ? Maybe referrer based redirect?
