JQuery :: Multidimensional Properties - Keep Track Of Users Order

I'm kind of new to learning javascript so please consider the following code:
orderUser = {
products: [ 'Beer', 'Soda', 'Wine' ],
users: [],
regUser:function(){
varnew_user_id = 12;//normally this wouldn't be a static number ofcourse
orderUser.users[orderUser.users.length] = new_user_id;
}}
There's an object that has some properties and a method. The method registers an user id to the users property. What I'd like to do next is keep track of what users have ordered. Is this possible with (multidimensional?) properties? Something like
userProducts[ 12 ] = [ 1, 0 ] //Soda, Beer
doesn't work. Would there be no other way than arrays?

how to add extra properties to html elements as I was storing data in html attributes. After looking at some others code including Raphael and this addEvent code. [URL] They seem to treat objects just like an array. obj[property] = value; This would have been extremely helpful to know previously as I have needed to be able to include variables in property names - but have resorted to making the whole thing a string and calling exec() on it.

I have the following (valid) json string:[code]Using firebug, I can see that the GET is returning the entire json string. However, alert only results in one of the two "text" strings being displayed ("and again"). Analyzing the watch/stack window shows that the "json" object resulting from the getJSON call has been reduced to a single "chat" element, instead of both "chat" elements present in the array.

How can you create a multidimensional array with an each() loop?

I'm using getJSON to retrieve information from a header record and the corresponding detail records and display the detail records in a table. The PHP script that is called returns a JSON string (via json_encode) that looks like this:

My problem comes in the getJSON section where I'm trying to populate the table with a record. I don't know how to refer to the different fields in array 's'. I've tried the following and many variations, but to no avail:

$('.p_row_'+i+':nth-child(1)').html(s.row[i].itemNo);
How do I refer to a nested field in a multidimensional array like this?

I have around 30 check boxes in a form and I need to keep track of their status if they are checked or not and based on that change the data in the dom.
I am stuck on the logic of how to implement or code for 30 check boxes. I was using the below example code but there will be a lot of if statements as I need to always know what their status is. Is there a better way I can manage so many check boxes ?

Demo page illustrating current issue:[URL]... I'm calling different tooltip DIVs from different triggers.Using bodyHandler, each trigger has a unique corresponding DIV To keep a clean document, i've grouped the tooltip DIVs at the bottom of the source When you hover over triggers, the correct tooltip is displayed However, the tooltip displays at the bottom of the page, not tracking with cursor.
How can i group my DIVs away from my trigger markup and still achieve tooltips that track with mouse cursor?

How can I track what is written to an input field on the fly(event that is not "click" "hover" etc but something like "track" or "observe")?Lets say I have a js object like this:

I have a form that captures users email addresses when they sign up for a enewsletter. I want to add this form submission into my google analytics and from what I have read the best way to do this is by tracking an event? I have added some jquery that I mashed together and I just want to know will this work? I added it today and I can only find out if it has truely worked by waiting 24 hours. I downloaded a program called fiddler (recommended in dot net magazine) to see tracking requests in action instead of waiting 24 hours but I can't see any of the field names displaying like AMF signup?

i have created an option on a website to give the possibity to the user to change the font size (smaller, bigger, reset), like the famous x3 'A' that we see in most of the websites. the code i have is based on a plugin copywrite to [URL]. now i'm facing a problem with different font size for different elements. to make the text bigger and smaller works like a charm but to reset the font size is not working so good. here is the code of the plug in the reset part:

here is how i'm calling the function: fontSize("#container", "#content *", 8, 12, 20); container is where i have the images to make the text smaller or bigger content is the div that has the content that i want it to be changed 8 is the smallest fonr size 12 default 20 max now the thing is that i have different font sizes in the page and some of them don't have a class just the <font> ....</font> when i'm clicking the rest button then i'm getting everything with size 12 and this is what i want to change. i want to remember the current font size and set it back.

I'm currently redesigning a forms in which one ore more objects (eg members) can be added to a selection. JQuery is a huge help with that, but now I don't know *how* to achieve the following:
Currently I add the selected members to an selection-list with option value = memberID and option label = memberName. I want to change that to the following:
AAutocomplete search inputto find a member. On select I want the memberName to be added to a span (or something) as text with an X-to delete (just like tagify does for instance). I could use tagify, but I don't know how to keep the memberID field coupled with the selected tags (and especially how to get the memberID removed when removing a value).
And for bonus points: I'd like to make the selected values draggable so I can change the order (and of course: on submittal my form must know the order too).

I am wondering if my code *should* work. I have a php file that reads in images from various folders. It stores the file paths in a javascript array by using echo statements. The array is also defined in the php file, as below, outside of the php tags.
var galleryarray = new Array();
for(var i=0; i < galleryarray.length; i++)

I am getting an error when running the HTML file that says "galleryarray[f1][f2] is undefined". I have another version of this that stores the file paths in a single-dimension array, and this works fine. I am thinking that there could be something wrong with how I am using the multidimensional array in the javascript.

I want a lookup table that matches url fragments to the name I want to show. For instance, if a url contains "yahoo.com", I want to print "Yahoo." For now, I created a multidimensional array that maps url fragments to a name. such as,

{ urlpath: "yahoo.com", mapto: "Yahoo"},
{ urlpath: "google.com", mapto: "Google"}
];
So, say I have a variable urlVar, where the value is some URL (for example,[URL]).Is there any way - other than looping through the array for every variable - to check if urlVar contains any of the substrings in urlMapping.urlPath, and if so, output urlMapping.mapto? (In this case, I want urlVar to find that it contains the substring "yahoo.com" and output "Yahoo".) In my code, I anticipate that I have 100 variables checked against 50 mappings, and performance is important to me.

Is there any way to associate name/value pairs during an array initialization? Like so:
sType = "funFilter"
filterTypeInfo = [];
filterTypeInfo[sType] = new Array("type" : sType);
I can do it using this:
sType = "String"
filterTypeInfo = [];
filterTypeInfo[sType] = [];
filterTypeInfo[sType]["type"] = sType;
but that seems rather cludgy. I want to use array objects not Object objects as described here:

I have a piece of JS code that uses the eBay REST API for searching. Each item returned is converted to an array and added to another array, giving the following format:
searchResults[1stItem]
searchResults[1stItem]["price"]
searchResults[1stItem]["bids"]
searchResults[1stItem]["endtime"]
searchResults[2ndItem]
searchResults[2ndItem]["price"] ... etc
What I want to do is sort the main array by an item in the second level of the array (ie price). Does anyone know how this can be done?

Is there any function or property for finding out the size of the first (or for that matter any) dimension of a multidimensional array?EDIT:There seems to be no such functionality, I found a solution that does not require it. If anyone is reading this for the same reason; it needs to be scripted.

I'm trying to create a multidimensional array (and it's my first time using one) as an easy-to-modify way of populating content into a cycling banner script. However I seem to be having issues with actually accessing the content in the array.So currently my array looks like so:
