JQuery :: Update A Selector After .load()?
Jul 25, 2011
I'm relative new to all this jQuery stuff. At the moment I'm programming a jQuery based site. The content are load with the jQuery.load() command. All works great, but I have a problem with the following function
$('a').click(function(){
var toLoad = $(this).attr('href');
$('#innerbox').load('loader.php',{site2Read:toLoad});
[code]....

I try to load specific text from a page into a string. When I'm on the specific page I can do this as follows: var wantedText = $("td > span[style='color: #00AA00; font-weight: bold;']").text();But I want to get this text from another webpage using AJAX, I tried using .load() as follows:
$('#somediv').load(Url+" td > span"); //this loads 3 spans into #somediv (including the one I need)
$('#somediv').load(Url+" td > span[style='color: #00AA00; font-weight: bold;']"); //this does nothing
I also tried loading the entire page into a string using .ajax() like this:

I'm trying to load one page into another using the .load() method. This loaded page contains a script that I want to execute when it has finished loading. I've put together a simple example to demonstrate:
Index.html:
<html>
<head>
<title>Jquery Test</title>
[Code]....
When the link is clicked, the content should load and the second paragraph should fade away. However it doesn't execute. It is not just a matter of the DOM not being available, a simple alert("") won't execute either. However, if I do away with the #toLoad selector in the .load() call, it works fine. I am not sure why this is, as the <script> block is clearly in the scope of the #toLoad div? If the script from content.html was in the .load() callback, it works fine. I have worked around the problem by having the callback use .getScript () to load "content.js" afterwards and have the JS logic in there. This is arguably a more elegant solution anyway, but I'm keen to know *why* the above doesn't work, is it a bug?

I've created some jQuery which remove many tr rows from my table and inserts new via AJAX. This indicate that the page is scrolling because first the table increase after elements is removed and afterwards it grows when the new content is inserted. Is there a way to let jQuery update this table without doing so? Eg. by first refreshing the DOM after I finish my manipulation. Here is a bit of my code:
$j(".bookingViewRow").each(function() {
$j(this).remove();
});
$j.get('cajax.php', {}, function(html) {
$j("#bookingView").append(html);
});

I'm trying to load some html content into a page via the ajax .load() method (wrapped within the $(document).ready() function).After I execute this, I'd like to bind all new span elements from the loaded content to a context menu plugin like this:
$("#selector").contextMenu({
menu: ''myMenu''
},
[code]....
Unfortunately since the span elements are coming from the ajax request,I don't think I can bind a normal event handler as per the plugin. [URL] how to use event bubbling in this situation.

I want to load an html div in a variable, modify it in another variable; and then change the document injecting the contents.
1. I load the html to be changed in a variable (code)
2. I modify an attribute of <param> using attr() and I put the result in a var (newcode)
3. I change the html in the doc
I've used the debugger, and all steps give the expected results, except of newcode.html(), which is a null string. Why?

I have a question about load(). I created a php script that simply returns <img src="something.jpg" class="myimage">
To test I created this code, the image loads fine and the mouseover works fine showing the alert dialog :
However, my trouble seems to be that if I bind mouseover to the class "myimage" nothing happens, like so :
Seems that the document would load the html first then the mouseover bound to the class (myimage) would fire off.

The code is supposed to generate this: PS: This is generated by a PHP Function that the Ajax Load Method Calls.
[Code]...
I've been noticing a lot of problems when loading these stuff, Sometimes I have to remake the HTML Tags because its not showing anything. Is there any option? I want it to load EXACTLY how it is, I don't know if this is some kind of protection for bad code, but if it is I would like to disable. But also, this code is really clean. no problem, I don't know.

Is it faster/more beneficial to have two snippets of code be generated by php at 2 different urls and then have a load function for each url? Or have the two snippets on one page, surrounded by id's and then load them that way?

i use it in a CMS. In my content page, when I insert a floating element, I use it to set the margin around element according to left or right float in this way:
$('#content img[style*="float:left"]).css({
'clear' : 'left',
'margin': '0px 20px 10px 0px'
});
in chrome, mozilla and not-IE browser the selector with (: and/or ;) works but in IE doesn't work. Is there a solution?

What I need to do, is to take the last draggable row in a certain form. $( tr_object + " tr.draggable:last" ) <- returns the last tr with class draggable in whole document. How do I limit It's view/search scope to one of the forms only?
