JQuery :: Starting Content-switching On Timeout?

$('#nav li a').click(function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
$('#nav li a').removeClass('on');

[code]....

I need to do this, in addition to .click-binding, automatically; i.e., if no user-action by 15 secs I need this content-switching to start happening automatically; and also give 5 secs or so for the next div to show up (and hide div currently visible); how do I do this? like a slideshow, in other words, but switching divs (and doing the classes for the thumbnails)

Dropdown And Switching Content Without Page Reload?

May 27, 2011

There are two pages,

folder/india.html
folder/usa.html

and dropdown menu in each page to switch between india and usa pages.

india.html page sells in INR and usa.html in USD with links to shopping carts for each currency.

link1(INR)
link2(USD)

Except the link and the currency information(selling price), contents in both the pages are same.

So here comes the problem. Google hates duplicate pages!

I am looking for a solution where, a single page In That Page, a dropdown menu to select currency As the currency is selected, without page reload, the link to shopping cart and the pricing also should be changed according to the selected currency. So Single page should be able to handle both the currencies.

Switching DIV Content & Changing Link Appearance?

Apr 4, 2011

I am using HTML/Javascipt/CSS to maintain a page whereby the content of the page is switched when a user selects a link. An example of the code used is below for your better understanding:

The container in which all of the content is loaded:

Code HTML4Strict:
<div id="container">
<div id="sub1"></div>
<div id="sub2" class="hide"></div>

[Code]....

I need the page to detect which "sub" is being displayed and change the style of that particular link so the user can see which is the active link.

For instance - When the page loads, by default, all subs are hidden except sub1 which is today's content - So when the page loads, I want the "Today" link to be styled differently to the rest... However, if they then go on to click "Tomorrow" - as well as changing the content like it already does, I need it to also switch the style of the link from the "Today" link to the "Tomorrow" link.

Switching Banner With Image Click - Page Itself Is Long And Must Be Vertically-scrolled To See Entire Content

Jun 11, 2009

I have a banner that has image navigation on the lower right. The navigation links are images which, when clicked, change the banner without reloading the page. The actual switching of the banner is working when each image is clicked.

However, my problem is this:

The page itself is long and must be vertically-scrolled to see the entire content. Because of the scrolling, the banner could appear anywhere vertically on the page. And whenever I click the banner navigation hrefs, the page "jumps" so that the banner is at the top. The page should really stay in the fixed position.

I'm not sure how to set it up so that no matter where the banner section is on the scrolled page, that the page stays in the same position when the navigation is clicked.

My href's in that navigation are set up as :

Do I need something in my script so that the page won't jump? Or am I missing something in the HTML?

JQuery :: Manipulating Content Between Elements?

May 24, 2009

manipulate content between elements. I've found a script where I can find the content between elements, but now I've got the weirdest thing ever: i can't find a way to manipulate it. I know its very simple but I tried everything and nothing works!

What i want is to wrap a <div> around it.

Current script:

var headings = $('h3');
for(var i=0; i < headings.length; i++) {
var node = headings[i];
var group = [node];

[Code]....

So, instead of an alert() i want to wrap it with a div. However, I'll get an js error if i do that.

My link is: [URL]

JQuery :: How To Add Content To Elements Created By Plugin

Mar 31, 2010

I'm using a plugin (asmSelect) that dynamically generates list items as the user chooses options from a select. I want to add additional dynamic content to each of the list items as they are created. How is this best accomplished? I thought I could delegate a 'load' event for the list items, but it looks like load events don't fire for content that's generated by JavaScript. (Delegating a 'click' event works, so I know I've got the code correct.)

What I want to do is basically equivalent to:
$('#testform').delegate('.asmListItem', 'load', function(){
custom_content = '<span>' + [calculated result] + '</span>';
$(this).append(custom_content);
});

Modifying the plugin to take the dynamic content doesn't seem like an option. The additional content will be different every time, so I can't just pass it as an argument when I initialize the plugin.

JQuery :: Tab Switching With 2 Button States?

May 24, 2010

I hope I'm posting in the right place. I looking to create an image banner rotater with tabs switching the images. On first click of a tab, I'm looking for the function to switch to that tab's associated image. After the image is active, the next time you click on that same tab, it would kick you to some URL within the site. It would function like on the Yahoo! homepage: the tab box with NEWS | WORLD | LOCAL | FINANCE

Does anyone know of an existing jQuery function to do this?

JQuery :: Switching Link Address To Hash Value?

Apr 22, 2011

I have a main menu at the top of each page of my site and on one single page a Coda Slider. To reach each different slide you need just #1. #2 etc from within the Coda page, but to get to it from a different location you need www.sitename/pagename/#1

Now I cant have both versions in the menu. So is there a way to add some script, just to the single Coda Slider page and get it find each of the links (I can add a class to them) and remove the link up to the # tag, so the link would then just be #1 and would correctly use the Coda slider panels.

Changing Elements Content Without Refreshing Page?

Sep 3, 2010

What website do any of you recommend for learning Javascript browser compatibility? I'd like to learn more about acceptable javascript programming.

I am using the script below for changing elements content without refreshing my page. Typically it works fine on recent Mozilla and IE releases if they haven't had too many hijacked settings. I know this isn't really much of an excuse for a script not to execute if it is done properly so I am hoping someone here can help me make what I have more compatible with more settings and browsers.

Switching Between More Than 2 Divs?

Apr 21, 2009

I have a basic website which has a menu at the side. When the user clicks on a link in the menu I want a different div to display.

I thought I'd cracked this using

javascript:

function showHideItems(myItem){
document.getElementById(myItem).style.display = "block";
switch (myItem){
case "first":

[Code]....

The code still switches between the first 2 divs, hiding whichever one is not in use, but the third div is just placed next to whichever other one is shown. It does not hide the other divs and is not hidden by them either.

Script For Switching Between Two Applets

Jul 23, 2005

I have 2 web cameras that are displayed in my html page by two different
applets. I did not write the appletts, I just put them into the web page.

Question 1: Is there a way to have this image on the page change from one
camera to the other every 15 seconds?
Question 2: Is there a way to have the cameras only appear during a certain
time of the day and have a jpg appear the rest of the time - i.e. daylight
hours?

Camera #1
(I altered the actual link to the cameras.)

Switching Between Two CSS Classes Via Onclick?

Dec 11, 2009

I have a navigation pane with 4 links. Two of these links show collapsable submenus. When one clicks a link, I want the CSS class of that link to change. For the two "real" links, I've just changed the class on the page itself. For the two collapsible menus, I'm trying to employ javascript.Ultimately for these two links, I want the class to change when clicked, and change back when clicked again.Here's the code for the page:

<div id="navigation">
<ul>
<li><h3><a href="javascript:;" onclick="changeclass(this);" onmousedown="toggleSlide('slidemenu');" class="colmain">COLLAPSIBLE MENU[code]....

1. Seeing as I've been working with javascript for a grand total of six days so far, could you explain the best way to make my code work? What's the significance of colstatus=obj?

2. The javascript works if I leave out the else statement. It will change the class after being clicked, but, of course, doesn't change it back. However, if I click the other collapsible menu, it will change as expected, but the first will revert back to the original class. Why is this happening?

3. Seeing as the code is adopted, I have no idea what /*<![CDATA[*/ and /*]]>*/ mean. Would you explain?
