I have a web page describing a procedure using generic names. At the
top of the page I have a text box. When the user enters a specific name in
the text box, I would like the page to redisplay the procedure using the
name entered in the box. For that I started like this: Code:
The javascript below is looking for the word 'margaret thatcher' in the body and surrounding it with a link. It's lower-case but the script is ignoring the case so that won't matter. But, the problem is that because Margaret Thatcher is a proper noun, it will be capitalized in the body text yet replaced with lower-case text. How can I modify this script to look for the word while ignoring the case but use the same text it found as the replacement instead of using the text object?

Tried searching but couldn't seem to come up with the language to yield any relevant results. My problem is as follows:I have a block of links inside of which are < smaller > tags which hold a generated piece of text. When a user clicks on one of these links (a.clip) I need the text within #fade to be replaced with the text inside of the < smaller > tags within that link.This is the code I have which only partially works...

I'm trying to make my body content scroll at the same time as an iframe located within the body. This has to do with the age old problem of mouse focus on iframes. When my mouse reaches the iframe and it takes over focus, I would like the body to keep scrolling until the iframe is right at the top of the screen. After that I want to relinquish focus to the iframe. I don't mind if the iframe starts scrolling as soon as the mouse reaches it, so long as the main body keeps scrolling for a while.

The above work great if I want to send a link to the page. How do I amend the above so that the the mail_str = contentWindow html?
And do I need to do make other changes to format the email as html rather than text?
I'm using ColorBox to open a simple popup and it works fine. In the same page I have a link which sends an ajax request which return the entire <body> content that I then use to replace the body of the current page. After I do this replacement, the colorbox does not open anymore. I got no JS errors.

In the submitAjax() function I simply replace the body of the current page with the same content.
I have a simple problem and cant seem to figure it out. I have a function in the body.load function that is supposed to highlight rows in my table when i mouse over them. When u refresh the page, the function works properly. When I dynamically add new rows to the table using ajax, I get no response.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a rather odd situation (in so far as it is probably uncommon)- for a variety of reasons that I don't want to get into on here, I have to replace a DIV with another fairly similar DIV that has an identical ID to the original as well as several child elements that also have identical IDs to the content in the original DIV. This all happens after the page load is complete. The problem is that JQuery can't locate any of the new elements by ID. I assume that's because it's already generated a model of the DOM that contained elements with identical IDs, but now that the old IDs no longer correspond to valid objects, jquery has nothing to return when I search for the new elements.So question:Is there any way to force JQuery to rebuild the DOM model? Or alternatively, is there a way that I can force JQuery to index the new elements once they've been added to the page?

My scenario I am using is an index page with the list.php script included in the div I want content changed in. The list.php script will pull 8 newest titles from mysql and list them in the div. When you click one of the titles it will redirect you to a new page created by story.php. I would like this to be contained inside the div I have currently have the list.php script in.
I have looked at several tutorials on AJAX to do this, but they always call a static html page. Since I am not using a static html page I do not think this solution would work for me.
