JQuery :: Superfish Customization: Change Display Height Of Submenu?
Sep 30, 2009
I am new to jQuery & Superfish, but it seemd like the most logical way to do a quick prototype for a menusystem. I am trying to create a verertical menu system (using superfish-vertical). However, I'd like to tweak the behaviour of the submenu, and have been unsuccessful so far. Here's what the current solution does (straight out of the box) assume menu item 3 is hovered over:
i used the plugin superfish and all things are fine. BUT, the submenu flaps to the right side. there is a problem with multilevel menues. my menu floats right to the hole webpage. so the submenu flaps over the webpage-border. how can i change this? i want the submenu to flap to the left side.
I have trouble with SuperFish Menu, of course it looks very nice and is good solution, but I am not advanced in CSS language.how to change space between menu and submenu in Navi-bar type menu? Now sobmenu hide part of menu, I have to must space.....
I'm wondering how to modifiy the vertical menu of superfish to let the submenu appear horizontal next to the parent menu element:123 3a 3b 3c45I just spent some hours searching on Google andplayed around with the CSSbut could not manage to fix it.
Love this menu. This menu will be appearing in module on right hand side of page. So I need the submenu to display on left, not right. So how to make this a right to left menu? I've played around a bit and have had no luck yet. I've used the navbar on another site and I'd really like to use this vertical menu too.
I'm almost done customizing the Superfish jQuery menu to fit my web site theme. I have all of the menu hover and submenu hover styles in place, but I'm having a problem with the color of the top-level menu item's font when the submenu is expanded. The active top menu item's background matches the hover color, but when I hover overa submenu item, the font color reverts back to the original (non-hovered) color. How do I get the top level menu item's color to match its hover color when the submenu is expanded?
The relevant portions of my CSS are as follows: .sf-menu a, .sf-menu a:visited { /* visited pseudo selector so IE6 applies text colour*/ color:#8C1C39; }.sf-menu a.sfHover { color:#FFFFFF; }.sf-menu li { background:transparent; }.sf-menu li li { background:#FFFFFF; }.sf-menu li li li { background:#9AAEDB; }.sf-menu li:hover, .sf-menu li a:hover { color: #FFFFFF; background:#00207B;outline:0; }.sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:active, .sf-menu li li a:hover, .sf-menu li.sfHover { background:#8C1C39; color: #FFFFFF; outline:0; }
I have a problem with nav-bar style insuperfish when update jQuery from 1.2.6 to 1.5 or any later than 1.2.6. Submenu start with UL not begin left. roblem in IE8. Superfish download from: [URL] Replace source from [URL]
I'm definitely not a coder, don't know very much about css, know nothing about Java Script.So that said, I'm trying to make the table row height smaller on a Joomla! site with Superfish menu module, and have managed to do that a bit, but not as much as I wanted to, (don't even know how I did it now!) but ended up with space between the H3 module header/title, and menu content items, and also at the end of each menu to the header of the next. Purpose in changing row height is to save 'real estate' so I have to close up these gaps. Plus it looks weird.[URL]...
I have built an expandable menu that displays some categories and subcategories. The menu is populated from a MySQL DB and I'm using PHP to configure the data for the Javascript menu. All of this works correctly.
There are 2 options when using the menu.
1. Click the arrow icon next to the category option. This opens the subcategories for that category while remaining on the current page.
2. Click the category title (text link). This brings you to the category page.
When a user clicks the category title to go to the category page, I want the subcategories for that category to be open when they get there.
Everything seems to be working correctly, until I get to the line to open the subcategory.
I`m using superfish menu. Could you please help me out with it? I need to display also the third level on horizontal, not vertical as it is now. I used the instruction on superfish page so the second level uses now sf-navbar and now it is displayed horizontally. how to display the third level (tier) horizontally?
I have to design a website for my friend and I have no clue how to change the menu image if the page scrolls down, for example If the person clicks on a submenu it will take them to a specific anchor within a page, I have setup a custom jquery scroll bar so all the contents are in the Div that is scrollable.
If you can see that if you click on the submenu which is 2nd hand and repair and rebuild the content will scroll to specific area, but the clients dont know there location as once the sub menu is clicked the original submenu image appears.So I want them to be able to see if they selected the 2nd tab, the button will stay highlighted and if they scroll down the page when they reach another heading with an anchor the corresponding submenu tab becomes highlighted.
i am using the jquery superfish menu at[URL]. i cannot seem to modify the width of the menu items (or the <li>). how do i do this? i am using the superfish.css style sheet. i tried to modify the width by changing the values of a few classes (i.e. where it said 100% or had an em appended), but this did not .
I have x amount of draggable & resizable divs, they work as I want them to, I am outputting the coordinates of each div in a textfield. My problem is that the textfield only displays coordinates when a div is CLICKED, so when holding the mouseBtn and dragging a div around then releasing the mouseBtn the coordinates aren't displayed in the textfield. I tried to set 'mouseup' instead of 'click' but then the divs are being dragged around all the time even tho you released the mouseBtn. The second thing is that i want to output the size of the div in another textfield, so when a div is resized the new size of that div should be displayed in the textfield.
For the size I tried to work with function showWidth(ele, w) { $("div").text("The width for the " + ele + " is " + w + "px."); } $('#test').click(function () { showWidth("paragraph", $(this).width()); }); I want to send both size and x&y of each div to a database.
I dont have experience in jquery , and as far i know by default all panels inherit the height of the 1st panel ,depending of the quantity of the content inside it.In the content of each panel will be dynamic content, of different size thats why im intrested in this.
I am customizing jquery scrollshow, it can be found originally here As you can see in the original script there are only images which scroll, now I have the description to show below each image which should also scroll as the images scroll. This description will include -
1. 'Name of the person in Image'
2.Article Title
3.Article short paragraph (Also this content will come from the db with PHP !)(Initially it can be implemented for some small dynamic text for images) To achieve that i tried to add the 'p tag' inside the image's li tag but they doesn't scroll.So I am trying to do some changes in the jquery functions they wrote. I tried this much, in the case link of wrap function
Via CSS .tabs will be position:relative and the divs within the li are position:absolute to stack. This works fine.
Unfortunately, in some cases the content of li is too height and overflow the parent. I'm looking for a way to find out the displayed li and this height to apply it on the parent elements (CSS) height.
The parent (class="panelContent") div contains a child element that is generated/rendered last. This makes the child element #ReportViewer1 overlap the parent (class="rptViewer"). Can I jQuerytize the parent div to adjust it's size after the child renders so it is contained/displayed in the parent?
I am trying to do something with a sprite image, which is changing the height of it when an action button is clicked. The sprite image is 602x5485px. For clarity here's the link [url] and here's the image [url] and when the "Run sequence" button is clicked the height of the background image is supposed to change (each image is 602x399) so I need to add another 399px to move to the next one. The sequence will run till the last picture and then come back so that it gives a kind of movie animation (so in brief adding 399px till it reaches the last pic and then removing 399px till it gets to the first one).
Here's the html page without the script:
HTML Code:
And here's the css just for the sprite image:
Code:
Ok let's get to the script now (which won't be an external file but within the html page, I separated it temporarily for the sake of clarity). What the script should do, I think, is to get the background image which is in the css, and change the css background position adding - as said - 399px. When it gets to the end, remove 399px till it gets to the first image.
So in practice here are my last (believe me of many!) attempt:
Code:
I am not sure whether this is correct but I am not quite sure how to continue. The thing is, I want to change the height of the background image as said and the above should change at least one image but it doesnt work. If somebody has the patience to talk me through that (I am a beginner so I would like to attempt to build the code myself.
how to change basic settings etc.But I have a problem changing the height of the following "news-ticker"
[URL]
You can see that I have different length of text in the testimonials and they appear now with fixed height. Where can I change the height so it's flexible to the amount of text. I've tried to changed it in the <li> and the <ul> but that didn't worked for me.
I'm working on a site for a client and there is an accordion gadget on the home page (BELOW the nav menu). [URL] The first tab does not conform with the with others in that it is not tab img with the content to the right of it. The client wants the content to overlap the img area (only on the first one). As you can see, the problem is that the img hides the content for a split second when it loads. Logically I think the best solution would be to have the content of that first tab slide in, say from margin-left:1000px to it's final landing place which at this moment is position:relative; left:-110px;. (note: right now the content is a background image, just one of the many things I've tried, but obviously I'm not locked into that)
I was basically trying to follow several tutorials to get a superfish menu working on my website, but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.I included both the superfish.css and the superfish.js in my website's header; both paths are corrent and point to the designated file.I then included the superfish function in my header like this:
<script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('ul.sf-menu').superfish({ delay: 1000, // one second delay on mouseout animation: {opacity:'show',height:'show'}, // fade-in and slide-down animation
[code]....
The corresponding <ul> element has the required sf-menu class, but still there are no animations, no fading, no delays, just the plain css functionality provided by the superfish.css.
I'm using jcarousel to build a scrolling slideshow and need to make some customizations. There is a callback function that is referenced whenever an item becomes the last visible item in the carousel.
I am FAR FROM BEING KNOWLEDGEABLE about javascript. On my web page, I want to have a slideshow run that'll show small-ish versions of images. I don't want the whole thing re-displaying every time, so I put together a little javascript to figure out how to show the images.....
I have one ALERT in here to show me the dimensions of the window and the image, and I'm getting one or more values coming up as "0"...... Which means that image doesn't display. The image(s) are NOT zero width or height, and neither is the window..
