JQuery :: Select A Link Caused By A Click Event?

i have build a website with google maps. You can find it here: [URL]
Within this website you can search for farmers in Baden-Württemberg Germany. So if you try to use it for debugging just search for "Stuttgart" f.e.
My problem is that if i click on a marker displayed in the map the associated pagination tab should be opened. I tried to select the link matching the pagination tabs within the Google Gevent.addListener event like: $('a.'+linkid).html('klick mich');
Chaning the html code of the linkid was just for me, so i understand how jQuery works. But how do i implement the function i need?

How can I give a click on a link when it is just created and added to DOM?

I have a series of paired <select> objects. By paired I mean the <option> values of one is dependent on the state of the other via an ajax call. Something like:

Here's where the bizarre behavior happens. If I trigger a change event for "primary" classes, i.e. $('.primary').change(), only the LAST "secondary" gets changed. For the list above only $('#number_six') would be dynamically filled. I tried using $('.primary').each(function(){ blah }) instead but got the same result. I read somewhere that some change events are only registered when the object is no longer in focus, so I tried adding .blur() to the end of the statement.

I want to call the click event of the link (anchor tag) on the click of the button. I used this code below in the click event of button to call links click event and it works fine in IE.
document.getElementById('linktag').click();
But, this doesn't work in Firefox. I googled a bit and found that in firefox, you have to do something more to achieve this behaviour. So, I ended up doing this on button click to work in firefox:

var e = document.createEvent('MouseEvents');
e.initEvent(

The above code does the click on link when I click on the button. But my problem now is that I have defined a link as
<a href="mailto:abc@xyz.com?subject=abc&body=email body">email </a>
and when click is called and mailto links opens my email client, it somehow ignores the subject and body parameters of the link. It works properly when i actually click a link element. but it doesn't work when i simulate the click event by code written above. above dispatching event code somehow ignores the link parameters?

I had the following, which worked perfectly:
<a href="#" class="page">1</a><a href="#" class="page">2</a><a href="#" class="page">3</a>
and the jQuery:
$('.page').click(function() {
console.log("you clicked");
});
But now when I add the links within a div, it stops working.
<div id="newsPages" class="pageNumbers">
<a href="#" class="page">1</a><a href="#" class="page">2</a><a href="#" class="page">3</a>
</div>
This frustrates me so much, because shouldn't it still find the links? I tried the below just to make my selection more precise (even though I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if there are no other links of that class on the page):

$('.pageNumbers .page').click(function() {
console.log("you clicked");
});

I have been trying to develop a simple method of styling the button on select dropdowns. Basically just positioning a span of the button on a select box that is styled as required.
That is trivial...
What I have so far failed to achieve is to get the select box to show its options when clicking this span - just want to have the select box drop down the options as it normally would.
tried .trigger('click') and .trigger('mousedown') but to no avail...

I have a div on my page witch is hidden : AddSupplier, I have a button on my page witch must show the div if its not visible, but the same button saves some stuff if the div is visible.So all that is working but in this AddSupplier div there is a select box "ddSupplierTypes" and when the select box gets clicked the AddSupplierButton click event gets triggered why is this, and is there a work around?

In my form a <select> with options I wrote
$('#select option'). click(function () {
myFunction();
});
Works fine in FF - IE8 works only for
$('#select'). click(function () {
myFunction();
});
But it is not at all the same thing, and myFunction is fired when as soon the select opens. And I want it is fired only when I click on an option (even if it is not a change !) I tried some other manners for the same result. The last one was to write the options as
<options class="opt" value ='x'><option>
and $('.opt').click(function () {
myFunction();
});
Works fine in FF, but not in IE8.

Does someone can help me with the following problem?
I have a SELECT form tag, with some OPTIONS elements. I am using the
following code to detect a click in the SELECT.

I would like to create a plugin that I can put before a click event on a button. The click event should occur if the user's time on the page hasn't expired. The plugin should check the user's time, and then stop the click event if the time has expired. With the plugin, I'm essentially putting two click events on the same button, as I need to check the expiration when the button is clicked. The plugin is working on my test page, but I'm afraid that this is contingent on an arbitrary ordering of the click events by jQuery. If I have my click event chained after my plugin, can I be assured that the plugin would always stop the click event if the time is expired? Or could jQuery execute the click event before the time gets checked?

I have an object that has a click event I'm trying to trigger. However in the click event I have the following if statement:
if(event.button != 0){return true;}
This if statement allows right clicks to go through and activate but it also prevents me from triggering the event. Any ideas on how to prevent this? If I remove the if statement from the first click function everything works as intended.Here's my example code based off of the trigger event examples:

I have a problem where if a form submission (set up to submit via AJAX) fails validation, the next time the form is submitted, it doubles the number of post requests - which is definitely not what I want to happen. I'm using the jQuery ValidationEngine plugin to submit forms and bind validation messages to my fields. This is my code below. I think my problem is that I need to unbind from the validationEngine plugin when the form fails, but I can't figure out how to do this.

Im updating a website to use ajax instead of Iframes. Ajax is working fine to load html content into a <div> yet my issue lies with the navigation buttons that trigger my ajax requests.
I have css styled buttons that contain <a> links </a>, i have removed the href and used a onclick event instead but when i remove the href the mouse will lose its hand cursor on hover and the css styled buttons stop working correctly.

I create buttons from an array of objects that such as:
buttons = [{ text: "button 1", action: 1}, {text: "button 2", action: 2}];
I then loop thru the array to assign the text and bind the click event after having created the buttons with IDs of "button_<index>".

The text appears correctly in the button, but every button defined only fires the list bound click, in this example the action equal to'2'whether I push "Button 1" or "Button 2".My actual case has four buttons, all firing the event for the fourth button.I've tried not chaining the .click(), going thru the loop twice once for the .html and once for the .click, neither of which made a difference. If I hard code each button .click, it works fine.

So the problem is in the connection from the rating.class.php to rating.js or inside the rating.js where there is not reference to the rated CSS class which define stage 3 in the illustration above. as I said it is suppose to go from stage 1 to stage 3 and define immediately instead with the rated css class instead of going from stage 1 to stage2 to stage 3
there is another file used in this system and it is a javascript file call prototype.js and it seem to be a general file used by most java scripts to pull out functions from there.

is it possibile to detect and prevent through javascript the opening of a new window caused by a embedded flash object? In the html code this embedded object resides within a given div with id.
I would want to know about it because every time I open the page, the flash embedded object opens another window, and it is a little bit noisy.
Does exists a solution for that?

I have one page which is the server processing where the link is and the other page which shows the user page.On clicking on the link I manage to make a panel (slide toggle kind) be displayed alright. But I still need that on clicking on that link a value is passed. I think I have to write a couple of lines more in the Ajax snippet but dont know how exactly. I have seen a similar question but havent been able to translate it to my specific case.[code]Well, somewhere in the middle or maybe in another Ajax snippet I should put that $get and this should be returned so that a SQL query can take that value and work with it.
