Call The Click Event Of The Link (anchor Tag) On The Click Of The Button?
Jan 24, 2011I want to call the click event of the link (anchor tag) on the click of the button. I used this code below in the click event of button to call links click event and it works fine in IE.
document.getElementById('linktag').click();
But, this doesn't work in Firefox. I googled a bit and found that in firefox, you have to do something more to achieve this behaviour. So, I ended up doing this on button click to work in firefox:

The above code does the click on link when I click on the button. But my problem now is that I have defined a link as
<a href="mailto:abc@xyz.com?subject=abc&body=email body">email </a>
and when click is called and mailto links opens my email client, it somehow ignores the subject and body parameters of the link. It works properly when i actually click a link element. but it doesn't work when i simulate the click event by code written above. above dispatching event code somehow ignores the link parameters?

Highlighted Link Forgotten On Page Refresh
Mar 9, 2011i'm using this script below that highlights the current link clicked. My site is a horizontal scrolling site so the links just redirect to different parts of the page.My problem is is that when the page is refreshed the current link is forgotten and the home link is highlighted, even though the page stays in the right place. Is there a way to keep the current link highlighted?

Nov 30, 2010I have one page which is the server processing where the link is and the other page which shows the user page.On clicking on the link I manage to make a panel (slide toggle kind) be displayed alright. But I still need that on clicking on that link a value is passed. I think I have to write a couple of lines more in the Ajax snippet but dont know how exactly. Refresh Parent Page With Iframes On Any Click?
Jan 28, 2009I have a PHP page with an iframe where I load PERL/CGI content. Now of course when I click anything on the parent page the iframe refreshes with it.
But what I really want is to have the parent page refresh when anything inside the iframe is clicked. Of course the iframe should not refresh and go to initial view then. So basically I am looking for a way to have ONLY the parent page refresh every time something in the frame is clicked or to have the parent page and the iframe refresh but with the iframe retaining the last user position.

That all works fine. The issue is when I use the back button on the browser to return to the home page the animation never triggers and the page remains unusable until a refresh. How can I have this page refresh when the user uses the back button and/or is there a better way to do what I'm asking?

I'd like to have users click on this without triggering the toggle of the element. Below is a very simple html file that shows the problem- each element has a [+] to the side of it- when you click on that link, in addition to the alert, the group will expand or contract. Any ideas how to suppress that when clicking on the [+], but allow it when clicking on
the text itself?

Oct 23, 2011I have a member search component that I've built that uses AJAX to update results on search filter change.Each result has a link with it to add that member as a friend, when you click the link it fires a modal window (colorbox) with the member data and add and cancel buttons.
Everything seems to work ok, except you have to click the link twice for the modal to fire. Is there something I can do to prevent having to click this twice to load?
