I have a little problem with saving a single checkbox state (check or uncheckd) for a session with jQuery.
I did find similar problems and solutions but i couldn't apply the help or solutions to my situation. So i give it a little try here..
Good to know is that I'm new to jQuery.
What i would like to achieve
I have one single checkbox that, when checked, will unhide some div's. When you uncheck the checkbox the div's will hide again. This is sort of an "Option". This works fine with the piece of jQuery code i have now.
The problem is that when a user checks the checkbox and then loads another page (/page2) the checkbox is unchecked again. I would like to store the checkbox state for a session. So users don't have to check the checkbox again, and again after browsing to the next page (if they wish to use this option).[code]...
I've been using the accordian tutorial but was wanting to save it's state after I click the link
[URL]
for instance if I open the accordian to heading two and click link 4 it would be great for it to stay like it on when link4 page loads (so the users know where they are)eg:
i want to store current textbox value in session on onblur event of textbox. how can i do this. i am using javascript ans asp.net 1.1. And How can i call server side function on onblur event of textbox.
On my index.htm, I have a horizontal cell named "memberarea" which originally shows username & password input fields. After the user logs in, this area changes itself to a "Welcome Name, Lastname" field. I want that this cell displays again the username and password input fields in case of the session of the user has expired. I have tried it with the following code (within the Iframe in index.htm):
I have a php page (target_market.php), with a form that has 34 checkboxes. I would like the be able to click the boxes and have JS post the 'checked' value to a php session varibale when a button is clicked. If the user navigates away from the page and returns, the pages needs to reload the checkbox session variables.
How do I post the 'checked' value as either YES or NO using JS to another page (target_session.php), so that i can add them to database at a later stage?, but also retrieve the session variables and update the check boxes should the user come back to the target_market.php page?
I am using a script found on Dynamic Drive and edited it a bit to fit my needs. Its a script to toggle a content area and at the same time display a + or - depending on if the content is displayed or not. The problem, the state of the content area is saved in a cookie, but the +/- state is not. I have gone over some cookie tutorials and looked through the forums, but I just couldnt figure how to edit the code to make the +/- save state. Code:
This function is getting called as it should. the line "if ($("lumode").attr('checked'))" is not detecting the state of the checkbox properly. It always returns false so mode never gets set to 'all'. (#lumodestate is a button I am using to test the function).
What you can see is that I have a bunch of images which form a chart, each of the images has multiple classes.I want to write a function which when called fades in/out images dependant on whether all related checkboxes are checked or not.Checkboxes are related to the images by id on the checkbox and class on the image, as I'm sure you can see. I will be calling this method each time a checkbox is checked.
I've created a registration form with sponsorship options hooked to checkboxes. My original form used ASP to keep values in hidden fields to use for totaling everything at checkout time.
Now I'd like to use PHP and Ajax to place the value into the text field related for each option checked.
I'm able to do that making an Ajax call. My problem that I need help with is this: If the visitor decides to uncheck a sponsorship option, the value placed in the associated field remains on the form. How do I replace that value with a null or empty string if they decide to uncheck their original choice?
I've tried JavaScript to no avail so far, both in the client side and server side code. I'm very new at this and I need help. Will jQuery work without having to change a bunch of code?
I've created a checkbox and radio button replacement plugin (URL...), and I'm trying to be as thorough as possible. One situation that I have yet to solve is if a button is given the attribute checked="checked" through some external function. I'm not sure of how to detect this event so that the replacement image is also updated. The .change() method only works when the user actually clicks on the button. The reason I am trying to work this out is because I am adding support for disabled buttons as well. From what I've seen, there are plenty of situations where a button is disabled until a user either selects something else, or fills in required info, etc., and then it is enabled (most likely through the removal of disabled= 'disabled '). If the developer has already worked that in, I don't want the implementation of my plugin to affect that. It should just work automatically.I do check the states on page load, but i'm not running any sort of loop to constantly look for changes.
I am trying to make a simple alert come up stating a checkbox is checked when it changes, and then another alert for when the checkbox is unchecked. Problem is, only the alert for when the box is checked is coming up.
function displayCheckPopUp() { if(document.activeElement.checked=true) { alert("A check box has been selected");
I have implemented pagination in jsp.these values will come from DB. checkboxes are there against each record.when user checks 3 records in 1st page and goes to 2nd pages and again comes back to 1st page whatever user checked previously it should be checked.how to maintain this state in javascript ?How to achieve this functionality.i need to maintain the checkbox state across multiple pages?
URL: https://medicard1.com/services.html Site also employs CodeIgniter from original developer.
Code below sets up a table with a form and script in separate cells of the same row. Looks good and click on check box works ok, but script seems to only run when the page is initially loaded. Does not change variable 'c' and display the change. Am in a bind for this one. My developer is away for the holiday and CEO wants it done ASAP. code...
I'm trying to get the two followup questions underneath the checkbox to show up only if someone places a check there, but for some reason the way I've got it set up now it's simply hiding the area I want to show up altogether, and the checkbox has no effect on it.
Rather than waste tons of space pasting it here, here's the pastebin: [url]
Alternatively here is the live version:[url]
I'd prefer to have the form collapse when the additional questions are hidden, though if i can get this working at all.
Is there a generic way to fire an event when the state/value of a checkbox is changed by another event - i.e. not a user action. In this scenario, I have a set of checkboxes with a "select all" checkbox. I have the code written such that checking or unchecking the "select all" checkbox updates the state of all of the checkboxes below.
The extra requirement here is that some of these checkboxes have "children". So, when you check one of these, its children are automatically checked as well. So, what I need to do is check the main "select all" checkbox, which would then check all of the immediate children, which would then check all of their immediate children. I tried both an onchange and onclick event, but neither seem to be firing.
I am attempting to make a menu that has a background image that changeswhen you rollover or click a menuitem. I've got the hover effect working fine with CSS, but am trying to implement the click event via jquery with the following:
My process is to reset the entire menu to the inactive state, then switch on the active state for the item that was clicked. Eventually, the item that was clicked will display its corresponding body section as well. I've tried using the CSS pseudo-class "active", but since the entire div is the link, that is unavailable. I've also tried multiple variations of addClass/removeClass, toggleClass, and setAttribute/removeAttributebut nothing hasworked so far.
To say I'm new to JavaScript is a bit of an understatement so bear with me. I have a site set up with a variety of layers of toggles. When you enter the site all of the items are collapsed and you click the headings to expand. Each of the toggle-able items have ids. It works great for users who start at the homepage.
However, when I send people to any of the inner topics, all they see is the initial collapsed state of the site. I want to be able to provide a URL that will set the toggle to open, and show all of the content for that section on entry.
Here is my code and js, can anyone point me in the right direction?
In my site I show low quality pictures. When someone right clicks an image and selects 'Save Picture As...', I wish to let him save the high quality picture.
When you right click on a link you get the option to save target as...(ie) and save link as...(netscape). Is there some JavaScript to call this function like the JavaScript to open a new window?
