I have a text field on my page, whose value I am setting through the jQuery cal
$('#Expandable').val("fefefe");
However, when I normally type into the text field, certain events occur as the text field value changes. These events do not occur when I set the value like above. So my question is, after I set the value, how do I invoke any onChange handlers?
I'm trying to call/ mimic an onchange function/ event after a user has clicked a checkbox. In response to which a buncch of other ones need to be checked as well.
The caveat is that each of those child-checkboxes need to have an onchange action take place. All of these child-boxes *have* got a working onchange eventListener attached (thx to an old post of Lasse Reichstein Nielsen).
Following a snip that suggests (or so the debugger suggests) that the inputElement.onchange is void, so calling onchange becomes a bit hard. Any suggestions?
I have come across a very interesting problem that seems to be impossible to solve. Basically a web application that I am working on relies on a JavaScript function called go to change the input named view to the page name and submit the form. This form's type is post, so no values are included in the actual URL string. There is also another input called action and it's value is view. This is to tell the application that the user would like to view a page. The problem is because of the variables being of method post, page refreshes and back and forwards return errors because the post variables view and action aren't sent with the required data. To somewhat solve this problem I have created a feature that tells the application that if the post value page is empty then to try and get a GET var called page. To insert this var into the go javascript function I simple add this code
This line basically adds &page=[page] to the action of the form. The problem is, this code doesn't work because action is also the name of a form element. Referencing document.go.action refers to the input element named action and not to the form's action. Changing the named of the action input value is out of the question (Way to much changing of code, and possible room for error). What can I do to change the action of the form without referencing the input named action. Here is my go form and the JavaScript code:
A picture says a thousand words. When we hover the cursor over this...we get this. How can I emulate that programatically? I know the <label> highlights the checkboxes in Google Chrome, but it doesn't in Firefox. And I also need it when the cursor is over an image....
How do I reset a slider value after it has been declared from acalling page?I have a modal box, that has a form in it. I use this form to add/edit items. Within that form, I have a slider from jquery UI. When Iclick on a link to bring up the modal box and EDIT data, I'm havingtrouble populating the slider with the appropriate value.Here is the relevant code from my files:MAIN PAGE:
I am trying to make a simple alert come up stating a checkbox is checked when it changes, and then another alert for when the checkbox is unchecked. Problem is, only the alert for when the box is checked is coming up.
function displayCheckPopUp() { if(document.activeElement.checked=true) { alert("A check box has been selected");
I have implemented pagination in jsp.these values will come from DB. checkboxes are there against each record.when user checks 3 records in 1st page and goes to 2nd pages and again comes back to 1st page whatever user checked previously it should be checked.how to maintain this state in javascript ?How to achieve this functionality.i need to maintain the checkbox state across multiple pages?
This function is getting called as it should. the line "if ($("lumode").attr('checked'))" is not detecting the state of the checkbox properly. It always returns false so mode never gets set to 'all'. (#lumodestate is a button I am using to test the function).
I have a little problem with saving a single checkbox state (check or uncheckd) for a session with jQuery.
I did find similar problems and solutions but i couldn't apply the help or solutions to my situation. So i give it a little try here..
Good to know is that I'm new to jQuery.
What i would like to achieve
I have one single checkbox that, when checked, will unhide some div's. When you uncheck the checkbox the div's will hide again. This is sort of an "Option". This works fine with the piece of jQuery code i have now.
The problem is that when a user checks the checkbox and then loads another page (/page2) the checkbox is unchecked again. I would like to store the checkbox state for a session. So users don't have to check the checkbox again, and again after browsing to the next page (if they wish to use this option).[code]...
URL: https://medicard1.com/services.html Site also employs CodeIgniter from original developer.
Code below sets up a table with a form and script in separate cells of the same row. Looks good and click on check box works ok, but script seems to only run when the page is initially loaded. Does not change variable 'c' and display the change. Am in a bind for this one. My developer is away for the holiday and CEO wants it done ASAP. code...
I have some inputs with images that I'm changing the source for onmouseover and onfocus. I want to move the js from the HTML and use a script that does the same thing for all instances of the buttons throughout the site (there's only two at the moment). So far I've got this:
That doesn't look very lean and it works erratically. On a page where both buttons exist, it works in Firefox but only one of the buttons works in IE (the second one) and in Firefox the script won't work if the first button is not present on the page. So what would be the best way to do it?
What you can see is that I have a bunch of images which form a chart, each of the images has multiple classes.I want to write a function which when called fades in/out images dependant on whether all related checkboxes are checked or not.Checkboxes are related to the images by id on the checkbox and class on the image, as I'm sure you can see. I will be calling this method each time a checkbox is checked.
I'm trying to get the two followup questions underneath the checkbox to show up only if someone places a check there, but for some reason the way I've got it set up now it's simply hiding the area I want to show up altogether, and the checkbox has no effect on it.
Rather than waste tons of space pasting it here, here's the pastebin: [url]
Alternatively here is the live version:[url]
I'd prefer to have the form collapse when the additional questions are hidden, though if i can get this working at all.
I've created a registration form with sponsorship options hooked to checkboxes. My original form used ASP to keep values in hidden fields to use for totaling everything at checkout time.
Now I'd like to use PHP and Ajax to place the value into the text field related for each option checked.
I'm able to do that making an Ajax call. My problem that I need help with is this: If the visitor decides to uncheck a sponsorship option, the value placed in the associated field remains on the form. How do I replace that value with a null or empty string if they decide to uncheck their original choice?
I've tried JavaScript to no avail so far, both in the client side and server side code. I'm very new at this and I need help. Will jQuery work without having to change a bunch of code?
I've created a checkbox and radio button replacement plugin (URL...), and I'm trying to be as thorough as possible.One situation that I have yet to solve is if a button is given the attribute checked="checked" through some external function. I'm not sure of how to detect this event so that the replacement image is also updated. The .change() method only works when the user actually clicks on the button.The reason I am trying to work this out is because I am adding support for disabled buttons as well. From what I've seen, there are plenty of situations where a button is disabled until a user either selects something else, or fills in required info, etc., and then it is enabled (most likely through the removal of disabled= 'disabled '). If the developer has already worked that in, I don't want the implementation of my plugin to affect that. It should just work automatically.I do check the states on page load, but i'm not running any sort of loop to constantly look for changes.
I found this great accordion script that does everything I need, EXCEPT: I need the first level <li> to close upon second click of itself, collapsing the list - meaning I also want the option of the list able to be closed WITHOUT clicking on another first level <li>. How do I change the code below to do that?
I have a form that is basically a table from my database.I have checkboxes on the left and only those checked get updated on submit.Im trying to make an function that is called with an onChange event that will check the box if any of the fields in that row are altered. The id of the checkbox is checkeds[i] where i is the row number.The function is firing, but the box isnt getting checked.
I added mouse in and mouse out affect like this in $
(document).ready function $(document).ready(function(){ .... $(".StripMe tr").mouseover(function(){
[Code].....
My question is if i used jquery post method to change some div content, than this new div won't have mouseover and mouseout affect anymore, is there anyway to achieve it. Is that needed to trigger ready function again? Another question is can anyone teach me how to add click and dblclick event to the same div, because if i add both of them then it won't trigger dblckick event.
I have the following form working with on onsumbit function, but I would like to change it so that instead of having to click the purchase button to see total price, you only have to change the quantity text box input. I just can not seem to get it to work.
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function checkQuantity(frm) { var succesful = false; var numQuantity; numQuantity = parseInt(frm.Quantity.value); var numTotalPrice;
if (numQuantity != 0) { numTotalPrice = numQuantity * 4; frm.TotalPrice.value = numTotalPrice; //new String(numTotalPrice); successful = true; } else { alert("Sorry must order more than 0"); successful = false; } return succesful; } </script>
Is there a generic way to fire an event when the state/value of a checkbox is changed by another event - i.e. not a user action. In this scenario, I have a set of checkboxes with a "select all" checkbox. I have the code written such that checking or unchecking the "select all" checkbox updates the state of all of the checkboxes below.
The extra requirement here is that some of these checkboxes have "children". So, when you check one of these, its children are automatically checked as well. So, what I need to do is check the main "select all" checkbox, which would then check all of the immediate children, which would then check all of their immediate children. I tried both an onchange and onclick event, but neither seem to be firing.
I figure this has to be simple, but I'm very green to javascript adn the examples I've found don't appear to work On an html form I have 2 checkboxes (A and B). Both are checked by default.
If the user clears box A, I want to clear box B. I don't want to hit a button, just change the box as soon as the user clears box A. I've attached an onclick= on box A, and created a simple script, but I don't even appear to getting into the script. Can someone provide or recommend an example that actually works that'll do this?
I would really love some sort of javascript observer to automatically add/remove a class to the labels on my page, depending on wether their checkboxes are checked or not. As well as adding those same CSS-classes to the checkboxes already checked on document load.This would be possible in javascript, wouldn't it?
To say I'm new to JavaScript is a bit of an understatement so bear with me. I have a site set up with a variety of layers of toggles. When you enter the site all of the items are collapsed and you click the headings to expand. Each of the toggle-able items have ids. It works great for users who start at the homepage.
However, when I send people to any of the inner topics, all they see is the initial collapsed state of the site. I want to be able to provide a URL that will set the toggle to open, and show all of the content for that section on entry.
Here is my code and js, can anyone point me in the right direction?
