JQuery :: Save Checkbox State For Session?
Nov 11, 2011I have a little problem with saving a single checkbox state (check or uncheckd) for a session with jQuery.
I did find similar problems and solutions but i couldn't apply the help or solutions to my situation. So i give it a little try here..
Good to know is that I'm new to jQuery.
What i would like to achieve
I have one single checkbox that, when checked, will unhide some div's. When you uncheck the checkbox the div's will hide again. This is sort of an "Option". This works fine with the piece of jQuery code i have now.
The problem is that when a user checks the checkbox and then loads another page (/page2) the checkbox is unchecked again. I would like to store the checkbox state for a session. So users don't have to check the checkbox again, and again after browsing to the next page (if they wish to use this option).[code]...

JQuery :: Passing Session Values To The Mother Page?
May 3, 2011I have a question here, I have a mother page of 2 divs, one for the category list of foods on the left and the right div is a placeholder for the selected food of the category,
Then i have a modal box, which loads the list of foods associated to the category when clicked,
What i wanted to do is, when i select a food from the modal box and click submit, I wanted to populate the selected food into the right div of the mother page, so far the farthest i went is loading the list of food into the modal window,
its like a shopping cart, but instead of redirecting your users to another page, you display all their orders on the same page... can this be achieve, im using jquery+php sessions
How To Save Menu Values / Selections

Save The Text Boxes Values
Nov 3, 2011I have created the text boxes dynamically(as many boxes as the user wants) and he can drag and drop the text boxes in the page. I need to create a dynamic line from one text boxes to other text boxes and delete the test boxes which the user does not want. I have created the dynamic graphic line. I know the values of the text boxes can be saved using php in the backend. But is there any way the values with the dynamically created boxes(with <div></div> elements, not with the text boxes) with values and graphics line can be saved online and the user when log-in again can retrieve the work that he saved? Can we code this either in javascript/php?

In my editor is currently a html form which saves the textarea values each time the form is submitted. I want it to save to the database everytime its changed or maybe every few seconds.
Save Form Values - Show / Hide DIVs
Apr 29, 2009I am creating a form that you don't actually submit in order to allow people to download files. You select different options with radio buttons and drop-down menus and then use that information to "show/hide" divs with javascript. That part works, but if the user leaves the page and then comes back, the data can be somewhat misleading. One radio button may be checked, but the corresponding div that was showing before you left the page is not (it was set to "display:block;" in css with the "onclick" or "onchange" depending on which choice on the form caused it to appear). I know that I need to set a session cookie to save the values on the form, but it is a bit more complicated because I need to set divs to "display:block;" or "display:none;" depending on what the values of the form fields are. I'm a novice at javascript. Since I am not submitting the form, I can"t use PHP.

AJAX And Session

I first load a page with a session genterated. But since AJAX is a
client side activity where I sent an AJAX request to an url without any session
info. Of course, the server will create a new session. Even though I
can write the session id into the first page where I made ajax calls, it is not a secure way...
How do people deal with this problem?
Getting Session-variables To PHP
Nov 29, 2009I'm just beginning with JavaScript (and Ajax). My loginscript now works with Ajax - that is; the script is sending a request to the servers PHP script to check username and password, but I wonder what that script should return - and how to use that response. Either XML or pure text: The response is now "false" if the user couldn't log in for some reason, and the users ID and real name if the login went well...
But then the problem: if login IS ok - so that the users ID and real name is returned from the serverscript - I would like to store those variables in a session variable ($_SESSION in PHP). How do I get those variables back to the client script from JavaScript?

Jun 28, 2007I had written code which created a shopping cart into an array using
vbscript and then transferred the information into a session
variable. However what I didn't know was that deleting/manipulating
information in an array using vbscript was not that easy.
In doing some reading and research it seemed that js was more flexible
in this area. My questions:
1) if I want to store cart items/details in an array and session
variable do I need to use only js (and can not switch back and forth
from vbscript and js)
2) if I have an array 6x12 and want to delete all the items
associated with say arrayItem[1, 0...12] what is the proper coding to
delete...is it splice?
3) any good articles about js, arrays, and multidimensional arrays
for a beginner?
Session Cookie Not Ending In IE
Jun 28, 2006Cookie name is "viewStatus" value saved is 1
Closing all windows should end the session but on the reopening cookie page I find the session cookie is still alive.
If I alert(document.cookie) I get viewStatus = 1
If I rename the cookie to say "vStatus" and close the window when I reopen it and alert(document.cookie) I get
viewstatus=1 vStatus=1
any ideas?
This only happens in IE ( as always)
PS
I just did a little experiment, I closed all windows, created a new file with just
<script>
alert(document.cookie)
</script>
in it then opened the file and still got
viewstatus=1 vStatus=1
I know I did not have this problem before because I have a session cookie example on my site and that does not work now so is it something new that is wrong with IE.
