JQuery :: Button Widget Won't Return To Ready State In IE8 But Does In FF
Mar 15, 2011I am chaining a .click function to the .button jquery UI widget. I get the action I want just fine but the in IE8 the button does not return to the ready state after I click. It works fine in FF.

JQuery :: Save Checkbox State For Session?
Nov 11, 2011I have a little problem with saving a single checkbox state (check or uncheckd) for a session with jQuery.
I did find similar problems and solutions but i couldn't apply the help or solutions to my situation. So i give it a little try here..
Good to know is that I'm new to jQuery.
What i would like to achieve
I have one single checkbox that, when checked, will unhide some div's. When you uncheck the checkbox the div's will hide again. This is sort of an "Option". This works fine with the piece of jQuery code i have now.
The problem is that when a user checks the checkbox and then loads another page (/page2) the checkbox is unchecked again. I would like to store the checkbox state for a session. So users don't have to check the checkbox again, and again after browsing to the next page (if they wish to use this option).[code]...
Save State Cookie
Oct 29, 2006I am using a script found on Dynamic Drive and edited it a bit to fit my needs. Its a script to toggle a content area and at the same time display a + or - depending on if the content is displayed or not. The problem, the state of the content area is saved in a cookie, but the +/- state is not. I have gone over some cookie tutorials and looked through the forums, but I just couldnt figure how to edit the code to make the +/- save state. Code:

When it reports on filtered results it works ok but whenever we filter on something that returns a lot of results (ie. customer without email addresses, or a specific customer type ajax returns blank. I have tested the query and apart from taking a while to return, there is nothing wrong with the query.

Feb 2, 2011I am attempting to make a menu that has a background image that changeswhen you rollover or click a menuitem. I've got the hover effect working fine with CSS, but am trying to implement the click event via jquery with the following:

My process is to reset the entire menu to the inactive state, then switch on the active state for the item that was clicked. Eventually, the item that was clicked will display its corresponding body section as well. I've tried using the CSS pseudo-class "active", but since the entire div is the link, that is unavailable. I've also tried multiple variations of addClass/removeClass, toggleClass, and setAttribute/removeAttributebut nothing hasworked so far.
Toggle State - Trigger Open State From Id Based URL?
Jul 21, 2011To say I'm new to JavaScript is a bit of an understatement so bear with me. I have a site set up with a variety of layers of toggles. When you enter the site all of the items are collapsed and you click the headings to expand. Each of the toggle-able items have ids. It works great for users who start at the homepage.
However, when I send people to any of the inner topics, all they see is the initial collapsed state of the site. I want to be able to provide a URL that will set the toggle to open, and show all of the content for that section on entry.

Jan 27, 2011This isn't really a beginner question. I need to build a webpage that has some form elements on it. These form elements act like filters on a set of page elements. Several input element can be grouped as one of many filters. For example six checkboxes are filter 1 and a radiobutton and a pulldown element are filter 2.
When the user makes some changes in these filters a server request is send and an answer is send back with the result. Depending on the result every filter (group of elements) need to be re-initialized to reflect the new model state on the server.
So my question is: Is it right to see the filters as widgets in a Jquery UI sense? Or is it more appropriate to just see them as plugins. Can someone please share some insight?

I just made a form with a datepicker, which works fine. But I can't get the widget button to work.
I downloaded a theme and I'm importing the files as you can see in the code below. Do I have to download anything else to get the button to work?

JQuery :: Cycle Widget And NoConflict()?
May 25, 2011I integrated JQuery UI, and I have the JQuery tabs working. Since Joomla uses mootols, I had to include thejQuery.noConflict(); And the tabs script " $ " is replaced by JQuery.
However, when I add the Cycle widget, and I replace the $ sign for JQuery, the widget does not work. If I use the $ sign, the widget works. I want to keep my code tidy. Can somebodyenlightenme on this situation?

Nov 14, 2011I have a problem with width() of jQuery.Normally, width() will return an exact value of element's width instead of the percentage (if we use width: 100%).
I'm writing a widget using jQuery. I have a function to build my widget and set its width based on the outer-bound. I need the exact value of width to arrange the element inside that widget. But when using width(), it returns 100 (means 100%), not the value in pixel (must be 1200px).
