JQuery :: SVG Animate(move) Group According To Initial Coordinate System
Apr 7, 2011
I have a problem with moving group element. I want to move it according to initial coordinate system of parent svg container. But transform:translate(10,20) for example, establishes a new user coordinate system which origin (0,0) is absolute X=10, absolute Y=20. How can I animate(move) group with absolute coordinates without writing additional functions to calculate this coordinates?
Is there a way to use JavaScript to push a page element (a DIV block, for example) down the screen, so it sits at the bottom of the browser window. Code:
Note how the footer is very high up. Is there a way to push the DIV that the footer is in to the bottom of the browser window?
In pseudocode:
if (where element Y coordinate is above <browser window bottom Y coordinate>) { move footer to browser window bottom Y coordinate } else { leave footer where it is , as that means that the content of the page already pushed it down }
Is there some type of plugin available that can dynamically track and output x,y coordinates of a box I set using .draggable(). I'd like the coordinates to show inside the box as it is being dragged.[URL]...I wrote I simple scripts and I'd like to be able to drag any box I add and show the x,y coordinates inside of each one.
I have a toggle animation which puts the area I want to show to the user in view, ones that animation has played I want to animate several other objects on the page. I have the code to animate one object by using the callback function in animate. But is it possible to animate several objects in the callback function?. this is the code I have so far
I'm a relative novice at java script. I've been working on a google map that can be found at: [URL](way too much code to post here). Each of the makers on the map has s particular set of information that pops up in a window when it is clicked, including a hyperlink called "join this group." Right now clicking on that link merely takes the user to the form at the bottom of the page.
What I would like the link to do is to both take the user to form at the bottom of the page and automatically select from the drop down menu the group associated with that particular "join this group" link. For example, if a user selected the marker representing the Neighborhood, Beverly group and then hit the join this group link, the drop down menu would automatically select the Neighborhood, Beverly (Pless) for them. I suspect this involves using java script to pass a value. I just have had no luck getting it to work.
I have a radio group that, when a certain option is selected, it makes the radio group disappear and a textbox appear. It works great in Firefox, but it appears to be glitchy in IE.
<script type="text/javascript"> function showRestaurantTextBox() {
I would like to force the initial location of a window to the (0,0) coordinate and give it a specific width and height when it loads.
I use the following:
Code: function initPage() { window.moveTo(0, 0); window.resizeTo(400, 400); } I call this function at the onload event of the page body. I get an error saying: "Access is denied"
what is the problem with the code? what could be causing this?
I use the wonderful .animate() method to create a "parallax website". It's still in developpement, but you can see the result : www.ohnewgarden.fr My problem : When you are at the very right, the animate effect reset my left property before animating. Which is weird is that this "reset" is applied only to two layers, without any sense. I'm going crazy !
So if someone could help me, it will be very nice ! It's probably my code which is wrong, but I can't see the mistake.

I said for my defense, I have tried to remove .stop(), tried to change parameters of .stop(), tried to reset (like there) the left property with a .css() method, and I have also tried to animate with "+=" (like there), but nothing works. If you follow to the link I gave, you could see very easily by clicking on "Contact" and after animation by clicking on "Accueil".
I'm trying to move pictures around on the screen, with a slight delay between the first picture and second picture (following onmousemove). When I add the setTimeout function I must be doing it wrong because the function that calculates the new coordinates for the picture returns 32 million and change instead of the coordinate. This causes the picture to not be able to appear on the display, obviously.
Here's the calling code (snipped for readability) that works without setTimeout:
I am well versed in design and PHP programming but when it comes to javascript (and Google's API for their maps) I'm pretty rusty. I don't need someone to provide me with exact answers on this, but just any advice on the best way to achieve ... or if you want to give me the exact code, that's cool too.I am potentially working on a project that would involve using Google Maps as a base and overlaying all of the various trails that can be found in the Minnesota area (snowmobile trails in winter, hiking in summer, etc).
I have been reading up on the API for Google Maps and from what I've read so far, it appears that to create the lines, you need to input coordinates for any accuracy? Is this correct? I see that I could simply overlay a graphic of the trail map on top of the Google map, but we are looking for something more elegant that actually shows the lines on the map versus an image.Would we need to have coordinates for every bend / turn of the trail?
I am trying to create an Image menu for a site I'm working on that is rather simple in essence. When the user hovers over a button I have the menu will move left or right depending. I have not got a great deal into it yet as I have become stuck, as I'm new I figured it would be easier to troubleshoot if I build up the program bit by bit.
I am doing a project now i going to use ajax to retrieve coordinate from the json in html and pin the coordinate onto a point on the map using javascript but the problem is i am only able to use one point on the map can tell me what to add in ? or how should i change it with? it will be nice if u can change the code from the below and show me how
I'm currently doing on a project, frankly speaking i'm new in javascript only know the basics. I'm not even sure whether this thread is suppose to be here or under html.. I'm suppose to create some codes that enable a html page to load to the next html page when the mouse move from left to right within a specific time and distance(positive X coordinate) and also the other way round (right to left) once i figured out this. I've got an example online and edited it. Please take a look at my codes.

test01.html is just blank page created to make sure it loads. However i would like to load from test01 to another html page but no matter how i tried to edit the codes, there's errors. I cant possibly copying and pasting the exact codes to every page i want to load to right? And is it possible to sortof increase mouse sentivity such that i can most probably load to the next page in first few tries of moving the mouse on the first page. Is it common that when i launch the html on IE and Firefox somehow after showing the first page for maybe 1 second, it immediately jumped to 2nd page and i have to go back to 1st page to try out.
I have a div that has a negative top margin and a negative right margin. The right margin is because I want to have the div slide onto the page from the right. The top margin is because without it my page height is the height of the visible elements plus the height of the off-screen div.On a button click, I move the div down and then animate it onto the screen from the right. On button click again, I animate the div to the right, off the screen, and then move it up. I also toggle its width & padding so it will appear to grow/shrink as it moves on/off screen. At least that's what I am trying to do. The animation onto the screen looks good, but going off the screen, it appears to happen intantaneously, instead of animatedDoes anyone know how I can fix this?
$(".addPanels").live("click", function(){//now and in the future, show the add panels menu var thisAddPanelsMenu = $(this).parent().prev(".addPanelsMenu");//get the addPanelsMenu if(thisAddPanelsMenu.length) {//if the addPanelsMenu exists
I'd like to know how I can produce an initial animation.I want animate a div automatically when the page is opened.I can animate my div associating the animation, for example, to a button or to a mouseover action, but i can't create an automatic animation.[code]
I'd like to fadeIn an image when I click on an li element, but I don't seem to have the initial state of the image correct because I can't make it appear. I think the basic code is ok because if I change fadeIn to fadeOut and remove my attempts to make the image (img#bullet1Tip) invisible initially, I can click and fadeOut the image. This is my code:
I have a simple web form with Name, email and subject. In the fields I have the values set to examples, like <input id=name value='John Smith'> What is the simplest way to have jQuery clear the field when I user clicks in the field, and then put the sample text back if the user does not enter anything in the field?
I'm a total jQuery noob, so I apologize if this question is really retarded.How would you select the initial index for the Cycle plugin? I've been digging around and I can't figure out how to make it not cycle to 0 automatically.
I'm stuck with a simple jquery accordion script that is[URL]..The problem is that there are links inside my divs that brings to another page where the same accordion menu should be included and left opened at the same state like the previous page (hope to be enough clear. The script I'm using will always close all the accordion divs upon the second page load. I'm a total newbie of jquery and couldn't understand exactly how jquery works (among other things I've to do i promise that I will learn jQuery as soon as possible );
Is there a way to do it so that when listnav initially appears on the page, no items are shown? In other words, is there a way to just have the alphabetized index show with no initial display of anything else?
I have a form that I'm setting an initial value for every field using jQuery and the value of "title" attribute. When you click in the field, the initial value clears out. I need to validate the form, and make the user enter something in each field is indeed valid data.
I loop through this array and create an AJAX request to Google Analytics who returns the data I requested (or an error).
When the data comes back, I want to re-associate it with the object used to make it (as you can see, there might need to be an action performed on it and it should be stored with its ID so I can use it later).
I feel like I've read about a built-in way to pass along arbitrary information (in this case just getting an AJAX request with my made up "id" would be enough), but I can't find it anywhere, and I'm not explaining myself well enough to the Google to get results back.
I am using the Cascade plugin [URL]. I have been searching for a while and haven't found a solution to this yet. I am trying to set the initial selected option when the page loads.
