JQuery :: Cascade Plugin - Load Or Set Initial Value On Trigger?

I am using the Cascade plugin [URL]. I have been searching for a while and haven't found a solution to this yet. I am trying to set the initial selected option when the page loads.
My code:

Is there a second parameter I can pass to the trigger with the option value I want to be selected? Something like:

On the plugin page it says: Simple Ajax (in ext) Passes selected value of parent select to url as 'val=', but accepts the full ajax options hash so you can append other data as well
What is the Full Ajax Options Hash?

I am new to jquery and I need to make a form that allows a user to select a state and a city that they go to school in. I am using the cascade juqery plug-in [url].
Which I think is a great plugin) The problem is there is a lot of data and it takes a long time for it all to load (some 28,000 records).
What I want to do is split it up into different files and then load only the file that contains the data for that start/region.

Click on "Personal Pathways". Any idea why the jquery would start blinking on the first click, but load fine after?
It wasn't doing that at first, something changed, I went back through everything line by line removing and checking added elements but I'm stuck.

I've almost finished employing the jQuery Accordian and Tabs UI functions on a website, but still have one remaining problem.I have a page using the UI tabs. When the page first loads the content of all the tabs flashes for a second or two and then the selected tab is displayed. After that the tabs work great with smooth transitions as expected.
The tabs on page load are filled with php include calls. Then I use ajax to refill the tabs base upon the users selections. That works fine without the load flashing of all tab contents. I did try switching all the php includes to jQuery ajax. The resulting page had the same problem with the content of all tabs flashing before the selected tab displayed.Here's some of my code:In the head:

Is my code the problem or is there something I'm leaving out that would hide the copy of the tabs loading until the document is ready and selects the first tab (index 0)?

Basically, what I'm trying to do is set the left margin of an image based on the width of the image, because I want the image to appear centered relative to the link table above. I've been using this code:

What happens is, the first time com.width is 0, but if I hit reload, it is the width of the image, and the code works correctly. How do I get this to work the first time.

I am trying to hide tables when a page initially loads and only display them when a button is pressed. When the page loads the tables show and I need then to be hidden. What am I doing wrong? I am new to this.

I have been having trouble getting the load event to trigger. My code was working ok then it stopped working. I removed everything, then I just got down to the most simple example and it still doesnt work. Example code is posted here, I can't get the load event to trigger. Have a select drop down with an ID country. This function works fine when the user selects the country from the drop down however I cant seem to get it to Trigger on load. I am using Jquery 1.32 if this is useful?

I'm running into a little bit of a problem with tinyMCE. My textarea is not loaded with the initial first page load but dynamically inserted in the DOM via ajax, so it doesn't display.
I've studied the documentation that comes with tinyMCE and it still kinda puzzles me what I have to do to "dynamically load" tinyMCE.

I have started to work on an extension that triggers when the page has been loaded. The problem I have is that the event is triggered twice. Its almost as if two threads are created when the users navigates or browses web sites. Why does this happen and how could this be changed to only trigger once. I have attached the files. I have this onchange event that occurs after user selection of a dropdown menu. When a user makes a selection it queries the database and delivers some data.
The value of the dropdown is stored in a database, but the problem is when the page is refreshed the delivered data disapears, only reappearing if you change the dropdown.
How can I make the onchange event run when the page loads so that if there is already a selection, the database data will always be there, only to change if the user changes the selection?

I am having a play around with javascript and the html5 canvas to evaluate the feasibility of using it for a few personal projects.I have tried using both setInterval or setTimeout to set up a very rough framerate for an animation.The framerate is fine when coupled with a simple delta timing to smooth out the changes however when running under a large load (large images) I cannot seem to capture keyboard events very easily.
If I wiggle around the mouse a bit, it makes the keyboard more responsive but is there any way to get the window to poll the inputs rather than wait for an event to fire?This is much worse on Linux but the issue is still around on Windows.

I'm trying to use the cascade function from the below link. If I try it as it is there, it works, but if I change the jquery reference to the one I'm using (1.7.1) it stops working... is there a diferent way to use that ajax call or am I missing anything?

When user inputs text to "text1" I want to reflect changes in "text2". When value is changed in "text2" I want to change value in "text3". So I handle keyup event in "text1" and then successfully update "text2". But which event need to be handled when value of "text2" is changed?
Important remarks:1. I don't want to update "text3" from "text1".keyup event. My goal is to handle some event when value in "text2" is changed(may be by user or may be by code)2. "text3" needs to be changed immediately after "text2".value changed

I have a problem where the .ajaxForm() method provided by the jQuery form plugin cannot see (or does nothing) with matched elements that are loaded dynamically by the jQuery .load() method (which returns HTML in the matched selector's space).So, here's what I have in a nutshell. In the HTML page, I have the jquery and jquery.form script includes (both working OK) in the head. I have a separate script block for the document.ready that encapsulates my jquery.Now, normally I use jquery .load() to load dynamic HTML into my page (a bunch of images), the URL I hand it has a dynamic item ID that it uses to talk to my database, and returns the HTML that I want in this HTML page.
The selector .load() uses is normally an empty div with a unique ID ("#images"). when I have a form element from within this dynamic HTML, any ajaxForm event I attempt to bind to it never occurs.However, if I statically load the page with HTML first, the form plugin can see it and responds to events regarding these items.Both sets of HTML that I have in #images are identical, both static and dynamic. The only difference is that when it's dynamic, I use jquery to replace HTML on the page once the document is deemed "ready".The entire reason why I load it this way is because I have an upload form at the bottom of the page that dynamically (through Ajax form upload) adds images, and re-loads my HTML to add the new image. The forms I'm attempting to run within this HTML deal with removing these images one-by-one.

item(0))and i try to read style.margin from the body, i get an empty string
However, when i specify the style info directly in the BODY element <body
style="margin:50px;"> , and then i read out style.margin ... i get my value

? i dont know how the parsers work but after specifying style info whichever
way, is should be available in the object model shouldnt it???

I have a set of jqueryui tabs that, when clicked, load in their content dynamically. It works great, except that one of the pages uses a jquery plugin itself. This results in two issues:
- The main page that holds the tabs throws an error when loaded because there is js that refers to elements that haven't loaded yet (those elements are in the external file that contains the code that relies on the plugin).
- If I embed the js that triggers the plugin functionality into the external file, it is outside of the document.ready function from the main page and therefore isn't usable.Basically I am looking for a technique that allows me to ajax load an external html file into the DOM while not crapping out the main page itself because JS that is already there is expecting HTML which is not yet there.

The problem is lines 37 and 38. opts.onHide calls the callback function sliderOnHide (which performs an Ajax load call) at the bottom of the listing. The problem is that line 38 starts executing before line 37 completes, thus line 38 cannot calculate a proper outerHeight. how to ensure line 37 completes before line 38 begins too do so? (If you have any other tips for the rest of the code, feel free to pass it on. This is my first plugin. Using it to get a feel for jQuery.)
