JQuery :: Retrieve Value Of Legend In Current Fieldset?
Aug 5, 2011How can I retrieve the content of <legend>content</legend> in the CURRENT <fieldset style="display:block;"> ?

View 3 RepliesI have set up a pretty nice page with moveable layers and everything. Now I'm stuck in the very last part, how to open a popup!
Basically I have a div-layer with three events: onmousedown, onmousemove, onmouseup and ondblclick. The last one should be for opening a big image of the small thumbnail in the layer.
So what I've got yet is this:
function Oeffnen(id) {
var url = "bilder/"+window.document.images[id]+".jpg";
testwindow = window.open(url, "bild", "resizable=yes,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,toolbar=no,status=no,screenX=50,screen Y=50");
}
it's the "var url" part which is giving me headaches. The thumbnail is say /thumbs/img1.jpg. On double-click it's supposed to open a new window containing /pictures/img1.jpg. Not really difficult, but I just can't figure out how to get the "img1.jpg" part! id is the name of the div-layer.
So what am I doing wrong here?
I'm implementing the Sortable future from MooTools, currently, I'm tweaking it so I'll be able to use nested lists, just in the way I want it.
[Code]...
In this Sortables object, I need to retreive some elements from this CURRENT sublist. As you can see, for the moment I've placed a % sign, where normally an integer or another key would fit. In PHP, we know the function "current()" for this. But how do I fix this in JavaScript?
How could I use "ui.size.width" to retreive variable of current DIV?I am trying like this, but don't have luck:
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
var test = null;
[code]....
I would like to select the ID of the next hidden (display:none;) <fieldset> in my form?
How can I do that?
I have the following scenario(well the structure is the same):
<fieldset id="fs"><p><select id="sl" runat="server" /></p></fieldset>
The name of the fieldset is constant but the name of the select is generated via asp.net thus i do not know the final id on that element. I can call on the select by using $("[id$='sl']").change() which works. But its a bad solution because I need to be sure that I only trigger the element under the fieldset "fs".
$("#fs").children().change()
Works as well but i obviously I am looking for a way to target only that select element under only that fieldset.
Code JavaScript:
$('input[id^="system"]').change(function() {
var id = $(this).attr('id');
var parents = $('#' + id)
.parents()
.map(function () {
[Code]...
At the moment the the third parent of the input is a fieldset, which is fine, but I would like the script to explicitly get the fieldset element, rather than just land on it as the third parent.
How do you add up field values in specific fieldsets in JQUERY.So I have a group of values based on fieldset name
View 2 Replies View RelatedBy using this tutorial Stylish Collapsible Fieldset using CSS3 and JQuery, I have created asp.net web form with collapsible fieldsets. When this web page/form loads all the fieldsets at that time they are collapsed/closed but when user clicks on any legend the fieldset becomes expand/open.
Now I want to add another feature that when user finishes entering data in the controls of first fieldset and he/she wants to move to the very next fieldset. Then he/she (currently in the last control (that may be a textbox or a dropdown list) of the previous fieldset) can open/expand ***only*** the very next fieldset by just hitting/pressing tab from the keyboard.

I have a disabled submit button sitting in the fieldset of a form. What I'd like to do is attach a click event to this button, but from what I understand this can't be done since you can't attach events to disabled elements.
Is it possible to attach it to the fieldset? I'm not completely familiar with event bubbling but maybe it's possible to capture the element clicked?
So I have a form that lets me choose one of three templates to submit with. Each template is inside a <fieldset> tag. What I'd like to do is call disable ('fieldsetID') and have it disable the fieldset and all form fields inside it... I _thought_ disabling the fieldset would do that for me, but apparently not. Code:
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using a script that duplicates a fieldset and an onBlur event that updates a sub total when you enter a value into 3 fields in the set but I am having one glitch
Here is the trouble: The duplication of the fieldset works great.
I have another script which is creating a sum ("sum") of the fields named "unitPrice" in the original fieldset. When I duplicate the fieldset that has the new "unitPrice" fields they do not get calculated into that sum. I am sure the "unitPrice" fields are being renamed in the new fieldset but what name would I use and how do I write it into the calculation so that the sub total ("sum") is updated with all of the "unitPrice" fields?

I need to hide a filedset depending upon the checkbox selection. I have attached code for this.the fieldset contains some non null and isNaN validation.those should be disabled too.

I have a fieldset with a bunch of input's inside.
I am wanting to put all of these elements inside the fieldset into an array.
Then once I have that array use a for loop to iterate through each of the elements values and display them with alert.
This is what I have tried, but am expecting to be a fair bit off the mark.

Can this be done? Particularly with jQuery?
I want to keep a fieldset hidden with Javascript and slide it open when a user checks a box to indicate that this fieldset is relevant to them. I'm fairly sure that I have seen this done in some forms.
I have begun to look through the docs, tutorials and some of the plugins listed under "forms", but I am not 100% sure exactly what to look for or exactly how I would use it if I found it.
I'm trying to create two bookmarklets:
1. Take the current URL of the page and open a new window with a URL based on the current page. Some examples (I use "->" to mean "this URL turns into that URL"):I plan to use these bookmarklets in sequence, first pressing 1 to log into the CMS, then pressing 2 to edit the current page.
I would like to know how I can retrieve html data with jQuery. With my current project I have all pages in 1 html file (jQuery mobile). Every page has his own ID. Page 1 has id="question_1", and the next one is id="question_2".
Now I would like to retrieve this ID and add +1 to the question. So if you press a buton it will always go to the next page.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wrote this simple snippet to animate a listitem from an unordered list. Here it is:
function OnLoad() {
$('#navigation').mouseover(function() {
$(this).find('li').stop(true, true).effect("pulsate", { times:2 }, 150);
});
So I have a div with id "navigation" which contains an <ul>, and the <ul> has several <li> items.What I want to do is to animate the <li> items as i rollover them.My question is , how can I only animate the current <li> I rollover, because right now when I rollover one, all <li> items animate.

I am simply trying to retreive the value of a label. Here is the label:

Here is what I am trying to do with JQUERY:
See LINE 1 and LINE 2 below.
It comes back with UNDEFINED/

I'm completely new to jQuery and Javascript but I have extensive (10+ years) with Flash and Actionscript.
I want to create a dyanmic tree menu, but I wonder what is the best way to get the data from a MySql database.
Honestly, compared to AS3, the implementation of XML seems very primitive... In As3 you simply move around the xml as if those were objects using E4X. This way: MyXML.myNode.myChild[3].text()
So I wonder, what is the best way to work with data from the DDBB? Is there a better way of using XML with jQuery? Maybe JSON?
How should I approach this?
JQuery 1.4. I cannot get this line to return anything but null:
alert($(this).closest("div.cr").html());Any ideas on why not? I have tried using parents("div.cr:first") with no luck as well.
Here is my sample code. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]">

I have a jQuery object upon which I am setting the 'top' value using the .css() method. The value is to Float accuracy:
$('#example').css('top', 13.857759);
Setting the value works fine, and the result in the DOM is:
<div id="example" style="top: 13.857759px;">...</div>
However, when I go to retrieve the value using the .css() method, the value is returned as an integer: alert($('#example').css('top')) // alerts "13px" Is this an intentional quirk of jQuery, or considered to be a bug?
