I have a textarea in a dialog and everytime I am resetting the textarea value before open the dialog.But on FF4 dialog value is not resetting. I checked the teaxtarea value from the Firebug and it is blank but still textarea conatins the previous value it had. If I reset the textarea from console the it works perfect.I didn't found any solution. At the end I am removing the textarea and re append it to the dialog when I am opening the dialog.
I have a table with numerous textareas that I am able to clear once - the first time the textarea is clicked the default value is cleared and everything is OK.However, at a certain point the user might press a 'Clear' button linked to a function I wrote to reset the values back to the defaults. At this point clicking into the textarea does not clear it.
I wasn't sure if I should post this in the UI section or the regular one since I'm not sure what is causing this. Simply put I want to dynamically,programmatically create a simple dialog with paragraph and textarea elements. With the click of the dialogs button I want to be able to send the value of the textarea(Whatever was typed in) via an AJAX post.What is happening is when I try to access my textareas value via it's id and the .val() method I get nothing back. There is not an error just no value.
After passing values, I cleared the form to start over and tried passing a new value but the previous values return with the new value. I hope that makes sense. Here's the code:
I have a table (not in a form) that has several input text boxes. I want to have a reset button that acts like the form RESET button. I thought I would use the following jQuery method:
Here's my reset button code:
Here's one of my table input lines:
I thought this would be simple, but I can't seem to figure out how to target the text that the user types into an input field before he/she decides to "reset" and start over.
I'm thinking that my problem is that I can't find the correct syntax for my line: $('input.firstname').value('')
i have been working with jquery dialog for a while and am stuck on a new problem today.when i load a dialog, it is running the button functions when the dialog is opened.
I used the jquery modal dialog from the[url].... that is currently draggable from the title only. is there any way i can make that draggable by inserting a div at the footer of the dialog or make it draggable from everywhere in the dialog.
I am trying to get a dialog box to open another dialog box. Clicking on "more search options" the first time results in opening a dialog box. Clicking "search" within the dialog box results in opening up a second dialog box. But this only works the first time I click on "more search options". In other words, the second dialog box only opens up only once. To get the second dialog to open again, I have to reload the page in the browser.

How would i change back to the default length of textarea?
I have this comment area that after clicking submit i will append the new comment in the list of comments through ajax... i got one problem though, everything is working perfectly well except for the textarea that won't change back to it's default size...
EXAMPLE:
The problem is that the textareawon't change back to it's default size // let's say that the default size is rows=3
I use jQuery for loading ajax content, changing css etc. I want to make button that does something similar to "Refresh" - changes back all css changes to defaults.
I have a form with 40 radio button lists. Each radio button list contains 2 radio buttons = "OK" and "NA". The radio button lists are given ID's like "page1RB1", "page1RB2" etc. The radio button lists are assigned a class "rbOK". I am trying to reset all of the radio buttons to "OK" using the following code:
function clearChecklist(){ $('.rbOK').each(function(intIndex){ var theText = "#" + $(this).attr('id'); var theDL = theText.replace('RB', 'DL'); $(theText.replace('RB', 'CP')).css({'color':'maroon'}); $(theDL).css({'color':'gray'}); $(theDL).val(-1); $(theDL).attr('disabled', 'disabled'); $(theText).css({'color':'black'}); $('input[name=' + theText + ']:eq(0)').attr('checked', 'checked'); });}
As an aside, I also have a drop down list and label associated with each radio button list using a similar naming/ID convention where RB is replaced with DL for the drop down list or CP for the label. That is, page1RB1 is associated with page1DL1 drop down and page1CP1 label. In this code, what I am trying to do is step through all radio button lists; read the radio button name/ID; use it to set the color and value of the drop down list and label and set Radio Button checked to OK. It is the last part that is not working. the above code handles the drop down list and label perfectly. But for the life of me, I can not get the radio buttons to reset to OK. When I click on the NA, they stay checked.
I want to make 3 panel that functionally like we browse files in mac. I already suceed made 2 panel, the problem is, at the first load, the second panel already shown. I want it keep hide, until people clicked the button.
I am still experimenting but I have a href which runs a function with a delay of 1 seconds, in that time; jQuery is also playing a 1 second animation. The new page is then loaded successfully. However, when I navigate with the browser Back button, how would I make sure that the initial page is reset to it's inital state as at the moment it appears as it would after the animation (which occurs when the href is clicked) has played.
when reloading a page containing some jquery code based variables (which are: a variety of datepickers with set dates, and a number of form textfields containing calculated and formatted monetary values) it appears that those variables remain set. If I set a variable on the page (in a form field) then refresh the page I would like for everything to be cleared out (start with a clean slate). I work around this by setting standard values to all those fields and datepickers manually, but I would rather avoid that and clear all variables/set values, rather than assigning a value to all those fields and datepickers manually to remove previous usage traces of the page. I want the refresh to behave like a full reload. I read somewhere that loading jquery with a variable at the end of the url string would achieve that. While I know how to o that, I would rather use just jquery and make sure cache / variables are cleared each time the page is loaded. My main reason for that is I'd like users to take advantagef of google APIs (so they use a cached jQuery version, for faster page loading).
an example of the page (with manual workaround in the code) can be seen at [URL] I work around the issue by using
$(function(){//clear all numbers on refresh or new pageload. $("input.nbr").val("0,00"); });
I have a photo gallery built with XML and PHP (pulling images from a client's Myspace albums).The gallery works fine, displays thumbnails and captions, paginates properly, etc.The whole thing is loaded by AJAX into a div, which complicates things a bit, but it works.When a visitor clicks a thumbnail, the full-sized image displays in a div overlay on top of the gallery div.The overlay is hidden until a thumbnail is clicked, when it is toggled to "visibility:visible". When the overlay "close" link is clicked, the overlay is hidden again.That also works. Some of the images are too large to display properly inside the div without throwing off the layout, so I had to set a max height and width.I can't just use CSS to set the dimensions or it'll size EVERY image to those dims, and the photos are all different sizes...some wider, some longer.So I used javascript to check the image size when the thumbnail is clicked.
All of that worked.(Although strangely, if I try to toggle the visibility as part of the function rather than putting it into the link, it doesn't work!)The problem is that once the dimensions of "img1" are set, they STAY that size even when the next thumbnail is clicked.So if the first image is 800px tall, the script crops it to 640px...then the next image may only be 400px pix tall but it displays as 640px high, making it distorted.I tried to add a "resetImgSize" function to the "close" link in the overlay, setting the img1 dimensions back to 2px x 2px when the overlay is closed, but the same thing happens...Once the img1 dimensions are set to 2x2px, they stay that way even when a new thumbnail is clicked.
I'm using serialscroll jquery plugin from ariel Flesler on this page : http://goo.gl/HMNUX the width of the container (#slideshow) is 100% of the window's width. everything is fine until the user resize the window. Then the pictures are not in the right position anymore. should reset the "offset" setting of the plugin on resize. I tried this, but it doesn't work :
I'm using this sortable method: [URL] Works perfect! I have one question though: When a certain action is taken by the user, I want to reset the original order of the <li>s in the list. I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
