I've experienced have been down to IE (trailing commas in arrays, etc). This latest problem stops a page which works great in IE and chrome working at all in FF.
The code below basically loads a table of data by post request. Then applies various functinalities to the elements contained within the loaded data. In FF the table which should be loaded by post request just does not display at all.
function update_table_row(obj){
var rel = $(obj).attr('rel');
$('input#submit_'+rel).removeAttr('disabled');
$('tr#row_'+rel+' td').css('background-color','pink');
If i remember correctly, even with an ajax call where the method = "get" it should show up in the url but, it doesnt seem to.....what's the issue with the code?
The following makes the arrow disapear when clicked
I am new to jQuery and can't get this to work properly. I am loading content form a php page through an AJAX call. Based on the data that is returned I want to fade in a DIV or keep it hidden. Therefore I have a if construction that checks the data that was inserted in a DIV from the PHP page. If the PHP page returned 'No data' the DIV should remain hidden. The loading part works OK, but somehow the hiding or showing of the DIV doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Is the syntax correct? This is what I have now:
I have web video player that can display adds by inserting a div tag on top of the player after an amount of seconds that I specify.
I would like to manipulate the content of the div tag with jquery but I can't do this since the div tag is not present when the document is loaded.
I have looked into several options.
But all the solutions seems to rely on an event to happen - a link is clicked, some element is mouseovered and then jquery runs throug the DOM again.
But in this case no event occurs! The user click play (on a flash player) remove the hand from the mouse and 15 secs later the div tag with the add is displayed.
Is there any way to select this div tag and manipulate the content?
Below is my code, please ignor the comments etc. its very basic. i have a set of data in a var. i am displaying the highest value in that set of data. however one of my sets of data the highest value has 2 occurancies so i want to display both. atm it just displays the first occurance of the highest value and then stops as opposed to all occurances. if you run my script you will see what i mean.
What I'm trying to do here should be simple and I suspect that I'm just overlooking something basic but I'm overlooking it. If you can tell me what I'm not seeing here, I'll be most grateful. This is the associated HTML code. Two statements to be rated from 1 to 10 using radio buttons.
<tr> <td width="25"><strong>A</strong></td> <td width="210">A statement is here</td> <td width="21"><input type="radio" name="SI_QA" id="SI_QA_1" value="1" /></td> (total of 10 lines like this)
Recently i tried to use getJSON to retrieve data from [url] and every time i tested in firefox, the console will always give me error on the line $.each(data.results, function(i,result) saying data is null. i am wondering how to solve this problem?
I built a pretty simple Ajax request which needs to send some data to the server and put the resulting HTML in a div. Unforunately, I need to POST the data. I used .post() and it worked fine ... *on Chrome and Opera!* ... on Firefox no data gets posted even though firebug shows the data in it's console. I ended up building the longest possible request, just to try all the options. No luck. As soon as I POST anything, Firefox won't receive the data. If this was a Firefox issue, wouldn't I read about it everywhere? What's wrong?
On my page I have a jQuery modal dialog. It contains a checkbox associated with a product being shown in the dialog. Checking the checkbox is supposed to post the product's title to the server (using $.post). During my tests, I opened the dialog for different products, checked the checkbox and quickly pressed Esc key to close the dialog and move on to another product. What I've noticed is that if current product title to be posted is different from one sent just prior to it, things get posted quickly and without a loss. However, if I am sending the same data as what was sent with a previous request, this data doesn't make it to the server if I do this quickly -- I consistently lose data. But if I allow a couple of seconds to pass before pressing Esc key, the data (duplicate data) gets delivered fine.This happens only in Firefox (I've tried this in v. 3.6). IE 8 and Chrome 4.0.249.89 beta (38071) (it was supposed to be 5.x, though) behave as expected -- post data without delay or concern with duplicate data.
The white my notes section on the bottom left is a div area that is loaded with an Jquery Ajax call just like 2 other areas on the page. This works fine in IE, Safari (PC), Chrome but not in Firefox. It just shows blank white.
I've got a script that I'm using to render a list of links. The data comes from an xml file.
If I run the code in IE, I get all the data formatted the way I want it to. If I run the code in Firefox, I get squat. I suspect the problem lies in "xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName". I'm using it to collect elements for rendering.
How do you transform a data Island and/or XML file with an XSLT in anything besides Explorer. Any kind of semi-well written resource would mean the world to me (or better yet an example). I'd be a dangerous man if I knew how to.
I am using javascript to validate a form, and my code works in Firefox, but in IE6 and IE8 it is acting as if it is missing some of the form entries. One of the missing form options is created by using a php function, and the other is created dynamically using javascript. However, there are other dynamically created form entries that IE can read just fine.
I'm using jQuery AJAX to request html pages so no refreshes will be needed when someone clicks an menu item. But the things is, I'm currently requesting HTML pages with no doctype, head and body tags.. just only the content (with just h1 tags and tags like that). The problem is that when I inject that into an div on my main page the css doesn't get applied to the injected content. It does set the text color and makes H1 an heading but it doesn't apply specific things like h1:first-letter. So I'm assuming it only applies general css properties like the text format I applied to the body of the main page. So the question is how can I make the css apply to the AJAX requested and injected content? Should I include an css file to the file I'm requesting? Should I use some jQuery function to apply it after the injection? Or .. ?
I'm having a weird problem using ajax. I use ajax to create a input field inside a form.
like this:
Before Ajax script
Code:
After Ajax script
Code:
The Ajax script works perfectly. the problem occurs when I try to send the form with the new field. The form doesn't send the field data to test.php. And more weird is that it works on IE, only on FF the problem occurs. Nothing shows in the Errors Console, and I have the last Firefox version.
I am using .ajax() to access cross-domain data using JSONP. Because I need to be able to cache the data I want to use a static name for thejsonpCallback function, so I have set the jsonpCallback option in the .ajax() request. However that appears to requires a global function whereas the auto generated function didn't (well maybe it did but that was all hidden from me).
I definitely need to be able to cache the results. Ideally I wouldn't have a global function handling the data. Is there another way to do this? If not what is the best practice way to go about using a global function these days and how do I provide it with the context of the object/module it was called from - which is where the data is needed?
Relatively new to jQuery but have a problem with getting data to display.Using a webform with 2 forms. User slects and inputs data into the first form, clicks a button then using jQuery .ajax submits the serialized data to a php script. The script processes the input into multiple paragraphs of text which is based on the input from the first form.The data is returned to the webpage and displayed in a text area (of the 2nd form) where the user can edit it to fine tune the wording. The 2 forms are displayed in different tabs so it is easy to move back and forward between the 2 forms.
The problem occurs when the user goes back to the first form and enters or selects different text and then click the submit button to generate a whole new text for insertion into the textarea on the second form. For certain fields the modified text is displayed.However if the whole of the text in the textarea is deleted, then the user clicks the submit button to re-generate the text content area then nothing at all is ever interted into the textarea. If have user alert to check that data is returned from the php handler and this text is correct. BUT when I click on the tab to see the textarea (id is "draftrec") there is no text inserted. The relevant function is below and the line that should insert the text into the textarea is:
I would like to use jQuery to prepopulate a form - ie make a call to a php program to get data from a database and pre-populatea form with appropriate data for the user. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some examples on the simplest way to do this?
I wonder if i can make the variable data which is [data] in jQuery.post( url, [data], [callback], [type] ) dynamic. for instance, this is the form i want to send,
I am writing a small data entry screen that will post the form data to a page and return a message. But i cannot get the Success or Error functions working properly.
Here's the code where strData is the posted querystring of:
I'm not sure whether it should be in a form and using the onsubmit or click of a button.
I am still new to jQuery and I am trying to figure something out. I have this code:
[Code]...
This is working fine on itself. What is does is when I click a link it loads data into the following div. When done loading it slides out. But I want to change the appearance of the slide. I have tried to do that like this: $(this).show("slide", { direction: "down" }, 1000); But this doesn't work. When I check firebug it says the following: o.easing[this.options.easing || (o.easing.swing ? "swing" : "linear")] is not a function
