JQuery :: Ajax Requested Content That Appears Without Any Event?
Aug 3, 2009
I have web video player that can display adds by inserting a div tag on top of the player after an amount of seconds that I specify.
I would like to manipulate the content of the div tag with jquery but I can't do this since the div tag is not present when the document is loaded.
I have looked into several options.
But all the solutions seems to rely on an event to happen - a link is clicked, some element is mouseovered and then jquery runs throug the DOM again.
But in this case no event occurs! The user click play (on a flash player) remove the hand from the mouse and 15 secs later the div tag with the add is displayed.
Is there any way to select this div tag and manipulate the content?
Trigger an Event when some element appears on the screen, (like the person is scrolling when the element that we set appears, the event trigger) , how to do that, does anyone know?
My background is php and I am now branching into jQuery. I have the following code set to update a <div> on a page. How would I modify this to add an effect (such as a fade-in) when the new content appears?
Code: var refreshId = setInterval(function() { $("#responsecontainer").load('showcontent.php?randval='+ Math.random()); }, 5000);
I'm using jQuery AJAX to request html pages so no refreshes will be needed when someone clicks an menu item. But the things is, I'm currently requesting HTML pages with no doctype, head and body tags.. just only the content (with just h1 tags and tags like that). The problem is that when I inject that into an div on my main page the css doesn't get applied to the injected content. It does set the text color and makes H1 an heading but it doesn't apply specific things like h1:first-letter. So I'm assuming it only applies general css properties like the text format I applied to the body of the main page. So the question is how can I make the css apply to the AJAX requested and injected content? Should I include an css file to the file I'm requesting? Should I use some jQuery function to apply it after the injection? Or .. ?
I found this vertical tabs functionality in jquery: [url]
Now it's nice and exactly what I was looking for, but I would like to know how to do the same exact thing in pure javascript. Can anyone link me to any tutorials that demonstrate how to achieve the same effect where content appears or disappears in a division of the page to the right of the tabs.
how do i get it/what is the source code so when one java pop up appears when my page is visited another one appears over the top of it like in windows when they is 2 boxes but one overlaps the other one
I've experienced have been down to IE (trailing commas in arrays, etc). This latest problem stops a page which works great in IE and chrome working at all in FF.
The code below basically loads a table of data by post request. Then applies various functinalities to the elements contained within the loaded data. In FF the table which should be loaded by post request just does not display at all.
function update_table_row(obj){ var rel = $(obj).attr('rel'); $('input#submit_'+rel).removeAttr('disabled'); $('tr#row_'+rel+' td').css('background-color','pink');
I've been trying to learn Ajax and have been following these tutorials:- [URL] I now have it so that in my site when a user clicks tabs the content gets loaded into an originally empty right hand div without any page refresh. However I notice that as content gets loaded into the page if you right click and view source the content is not there and the div appears empty in the source. I understand why this is but I also understand that this will make the site a lot less seo friendly which brings me to my questions:-
1.Facebook pages seem to load in their content without any page refresh at all yet it seems this is actual indexable content being loaded in live or am I wrong?
2. If this is the case that they load in actual indexable content live at such speed how can I do this because I want the content in my loaded sections to be indexable yet also want the site to flow seamlessly like facebook with no page refresh at all? Are there any examples/tutorials on this?
3. I've also noticed facebook urls change as the user switch tabs yet the page itself doesn't refresh. How can I do this too again whilst keeping th page as indexable as it would be using a regular page based layout?
jquery provides ajaxStart() and ajaxStop() events. Those two events do not seem to be triggered if the ajax requests are made by Microsoft Ajax tool Kit (from ASP.Net code). Is there any way to bridge those two event models? If not currently possible, is there any future initiative or plan out there to make this happen?
What I'm trying to do here should be simple and I suspect that I'm just overlooking something basic but I'm overlooking it. If you can tell me what I'm not seeing here, I'll be most grateful. This is the associated HTML code. Two statements to be rated from 1 to 10 using radio buttons.
<tr> <td width="25"><strong>A</strong></td> <td width="210">A statement is here</td> <td width="21"><input type="radio" name="SI_QA" id="SI_QA_1" value="1" /></td> (total of 10 lines like this)
I am currently using load() to display content upon clicking a line. I would like to add another load function to the same anchor's click event. I tried applying the click function to the sam a.class but it did not work.I have the load a.class within an accordion. here is my current jQuerry functions on the page
Its a very convoluted title, but not sure how to phrase it.I'm using the latest version of jquery. i have a function that creates a new row given an onchange event for the primary select box. This new row contains another drop down box that i want to bind another onchange event. Problem is when the child drop down change event is triggered, if there are multiple children, the alert pops up for the number of children that it has.. horrible explanation heres the code:
Code: $('#perph_type').change(onSelectChange); function onSelectChange(){
What I want to do basically is to replicate functionaly from jquery forum. While browising forum list you may notice that small menu popup on right side. I want to do something similiar on my forums, and siplay some small menu for each thread and post. Now what I need is way to do it in table cell.
I'm trying to load dynamically some content and I'd like to fire a function when all the newly added content (including images, iframes and scripts in it) are loaded:
var htmlStr='html string including images, iframes and scripts'; $("#contents").html(htmlStr).load(function(){ alert("all images, scripts and iframes are fully loaded, you can continue"); })
According tohttp:[url]....(at least how I understand it) this should work: Theloadevent is sent to an element when it and all sub-elements have been completely loaded. This event can be sent to any element associated with a URL,images, scripts, frames, iframes, and the windowobject.Unfortunatelly my function is never called. For the meantime I found a workaround:
var html=$('html string including images, iframes and scripts'); var elements=html.find("img,script,iframe,frame"); var loadCounter = elemets.length;[code]....
I load content to div using ajax. In that new loaded content are anchors which make another ajax requests, but they don't work. I suppose that it's caused by $(document).ready();
For example:
Anchor with class '.dokosika' in loaded content doesn't work as I want to...
I'm trying to bind an event handler to a button in a page loaded via Ajax. This procedure should apply to every page I have to load via Ajax. I have tried two things: first, I declared the 'click' event handler for the button like this, and just did my ajax request. Here's the code:
$("#close_button").click(function(){ alert("This should popup"); }); $.ajax({ url: 'js/ajax/text.html',
Strange behaviour: User enters text into textarea - text includes URL with protocol e.g. [URL]. JSON call fails with 403 forbidden. It seems the the serialised content is being interpreted as a cross domain call (my guess). Any other text works - Even if the user enters "http://www.u", but as soon as the input qualifies as a url, I get a 403.
The code extract: var formText = $("#contributioncontrol").serialize(); $.getJSON('[URL]',formText, function(response) { if (response.ERROR != true) { var output = response.HTML; $(output).hide().prependTo("#results").fadeIn("slow");} }
If the user enters http://www.url.com in the textarea on the form then The request looks like this: [URL]. The '/' chars in the line above are replaced by% 3 A % 2 F % 2 F (without spaces - Don't know how to stop browser interpreting the encoded stuff).
And the response like this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <html><head> <title>403 Forbidden</title> </head><body> <h1>Forbidden</h1> <p>You don't have permission to access /API/createcontribution.php on this server.</p> <p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p> <hr> <address>Apache mod_fcgid/2.3.5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.mysite.com Port 80</address> </body></html>
I have a menu that grabs content via ajax and json. This menu has 3 levels. I can click on the first level and it loads fine. This is the .cat class that then toggles. However when I click on the 2nd level link, the .ahref class it does not fire.
My question is why isn't this working? that it's probablybecauseit's been loaded dynamically andif ($('#load').length) is not checking dynamic content - but how would Iamendthe if statement to also check dynamic content?
what i'm trying to do is to acces the content loaded via AJAX but in an other way than by a callback function.i have a div where the data will be loaded via ajax, the data is represented by a list of folders and when i click one of them i want to load then the subfolders and so on, but if i use the callback function this is not gonna be dynamic..cause i don;t know how deep is gonna be the tree.[code]but if i do in this way....first time it works....so id i click <ahref="folder_1">folder_1</a> it loads the subfolders...and if i click then on of the subfolders loaded with ajax it wont work anymore to see the subfolders in the respective folder.
